My husband and I cruised this ship 09/30 until 10/5 what an disappointment. Our intention with booking was finding an Itinerary that did not port in Nassau. This seemed to do just that. However on our way to Amber cove the captain announced there were mechanical issues with the ship that had to do with the speed and would not be able to stop in Amber cove but would port in Nassau. Passengers were given a $50 onboard credit and that was it. Keep in mind that this ship had a problem with this same mechanical 3 weeks before that ended up on the news. We thought there was no way this wasn't fixed. I spoke to crew members that informed me that our sailing was actually the 3rd sailing experiencing the same issue. During the whole sailing the boat was unsteady rocking up and down which I believe had something to do with the engine problem because the sea wasn't bad. I called guest services after we returned but the response I received lead me to believe that Carnival really didn't care at all. We live in Orlando and cruise frequently. This was #8 on Carnival. We booked a Grand suite at $1700. and expected an much better experience than we got. Read Less

THE BOAT: I chose this cruise to travel to the Dominican Rep and Grand Turk. Unfortunately, the motor broke on day 2... we could only make it to Grand Turk and got rerouted to Nasseau. The bummer is that a cruise to Nasseau would've been way cheaper, if we had wanted to go there. All they compensated us with was a $50 cruise credit, which doesn't cover the price difference between a Nasseau cruise and Dominican cruise. EXCURSIONS: In any case, vacations are what you make of them. The Grand Turk Excursion for Reef, Rays, and Open Bar was GREAT. Our Nasseau excursion was a Seaworld SemiSubmarine Tour. A great, cheap excursion overall. It was fast and all we wanted was to get back on the boat. Embarkation was fast and efficient. Debarkation... less so, but that might be more a customs issue that Carnivals. ONBOARD: The shows were great, and I really thought our room was worth the price. The bar service is a bit slow, and the main dining room takes a long time to serve food.Staff were friendly and kind. The comedy was a bit too raunchy for my taste. Unfortunately, the comedians were similar people with similar jokes. The interior decor could accurately be labeled Casino-Tacky. A lot of the onboard activities are sales pitches too. OVERALL, Carnival will offer good value for the money, but I think I'll choose another cruise line or a newer ship next time. Read Less

We chose this cruise for what was supposed to be a honeymoon. NEVER again will we cruise with carnival. We met ONE nice bartender on this ship. The food was crappy as well as the people serving it. They were rude and acted like they hated their jobs. This line allows underaged kids to get plastered and start arguments with adults. When security is called, "it doesn't matter that they are underage and drunk." Security was an absolute joke. If you have an issue, you're better of handling it yourself. You smell weed everywhere on the boat, even in the family areas, therefore I'm super glad we did not bring our child with us. I guess some people don't understand we have decent jobs and get drug tested and do not care to smell that 24/7. It was just an overall bad expierience. I do not recommend booking with them and if you do, Elation is not a line you want to take your littler ones! Read Less

I will start by saying we have cruised 5 different cruise lines, this was our first Carnival cruise. Yes we have heard a lot of negatives so we were prepared for the worst! However I must say the Elation is in very nice condition, refurbished and quite nicely done. The cabins are plain, yet served there purpose. Staff was nice, however the ship is understaffed and service suffered. Food was much better than expected and was very good in the dining room, good to average at the buffet. Guys burgers and the Cantina were excellent. There was plenty to do for evening entertainment, and the Rock show was outstanding. The problem for us was not the ship at all. However be prepared for the crowd a low cost 4 day cruise gets. The quality of the people did not match the quality of the ship. Perhaps I just cannot adjust to the younger under 40 crowd.(I am in my 60's, took my kids and grandkids for this cruise) My grandkids felt it was a great cruise, so it is a matter of perspective. If you like loud, and I mean really loud music on the pool deck, kids taking over the jaccuzi ALL DAY, Kids and adults walking the hallways all night talking loudly and waking up everyone who actually tried to sleep, parents who take absolutely no action to control their children, than this is the cruise for you. I will stick with Celebrity or Royal Caribbean which gets a better crowd. Will I try a 7 day Carnival cruise in the future? Will the crowd be different? I'm not sure yet. As for now I need to recover from this one! Read Less

I hate to badmouth, but I have no choice but speak my mind and speaking only about this Carnival ship, not the rest. You charge us that kind of money, we expect first class all the way! One engine was bad when we left and stabilizer didn’t work and rocking so hard, people vomiting and running to buy Dramamine! We were suppose to go to Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos and we didn’t have enough power because they knew that when we left Port Canaveral and were diverted to Nassau instead. Why didn’t we wait and get the parts and fix it and be delayed a few hours, everyone on board was asking? Took two days to get back to Port Canaveral on one engine from Nassau. Food mostly cold and elevators took sometimes 10-15 minutes! Only bright spots was Cruise Director Chris and Guy Burger was hot and good! We spent a total of $3000 for the cruise and SW plane tickets and got one day in Nassau and water was rough on all beaches and lifeguard blew the whistle and told us to get out of the water. We paid for 5 days and drove around on one engine for 4 and never saw Dominican or Turks, plus my husband and I work for a contract company and you don’t work, you don’t get paid! Carnival offered us half our cruise fare toward another cruise. Hubby said pass! We went to Nassau last cruise and husband didn’t like it and said no more, so where did we go! My hubby said no more Carnival because the ships are too old and unkept. People smoking outside our balcony room and the whole ship smells like smoke and people smoking everywhere. He has asthma and had to use his inhaler quite because he had problems breathing with all that smoke! I told several security persons about it and just walked away? I been on different cruise lines and food was hot and ship looked kept up. Rust spots everywhere outside around pool and deck areas. Need to sell this ship and order another one. I’m going back to Royal Caribbean! Also, it was our 40th wedding anniversary cruise on the HELLation! Carnival got the gold mine and we got the shaft! Read Less

Our first full day at sea the ship broke down and the captain decided that taking us to the Bahamas for a day would make up for a 5 day cruise to Amber Cover and Grand Turk. The food was horrible and half the elevators didn’t work most of the cruise. Carnival felt they were doing us a favor by refunding $100 to each person with 50% off our next cruise. It wasn’t my fault the ship was old didn’t have the ability to make it to the destination. I asked for a refund and was told that I signed a disclaimer and wasn’t entitled to a full refund. Carnival also felt that one day in the Bahamas was just as good as a two day to the Caribbean. We floated out at sea for three full days with nothing to do. It was the worst experience with a company that states they provided quality care and travel. Carnival only cares about making their money and not about the cruisers that help pay their salaries. If your reading this don’t use carnival for your vacation, spend a little more money and cruise on a reliable liner that will actually get you to your destination. The crazy thing happened, the ship started working miraculous when we were getting off the ship. They were preparing to take the same broken ship back out to sea that couldn’t even get us to our destination Read Less

First I would like to state i rated a 1 because there were no minus buttins to select. We chose this cruise to celebrate our wedding honeymoon because of the destination from Port Canaveral to Turks &Caicos, and to Amber Cove D.R. Unfortunately this didnt happen and we ended up in Nassau Bahamas. The itinerary was switched after we were disembarked on the second day. The ship had mechanical issues our balcony door to our suite was broke and therefore impacted the air conditioning and refrigerator in our room. Secondly, prior to boarding our ship we had to carry our luggage to the top floor of the ship ourselves as we were informed Carnival dismisses their porters at 2pm daily. We did not get what we paid for nor did we enjoy this cruise. The staff seemed to not care and are powerless to try and accomodate for our losses. Carnival ruined my honeymoon. My family and I just returned from the 5 day Exotic Eastern Caribbean on the the Carnival Elation. Let me 1st start off by we never made it to any of our designated ports. My family and I have cruised a lot over the years and this by far was the worst cruise we have ever been on. This ship is older even after been refurbished in 2018. There is not a lot of activities on board, the staff is very unfriendly especially at the bars and Pixels. The pool is very small and the serenity deck has no pools only 2 hot tubs that the water was always freezing. We stayed on Deck 14 and the entire time we were on the ship there was only 1 working elevator on the ship that went to Deck 14. And half the time you had couldn't get on the elevator because there was a group of teenagers who were constantly joy riding on the elevator. The food on Lido was not great, and every time we ate at the dining room we were rushed by the staff. And if you purchase the alcohol package the drinks are very watered down. From the time the ship departed on Sat the entire ship was rocking. So badly that passengers were experiencing motion sickness. We departed on Sat 9/21 and was informed on Sunday that due to the ship experiencing mechanical problems we will not be docking at any of the designated ports. We were re routed to Nassau on Monday to see if the ship could be repaired, and left on Tuesday morning with the ship still not being able to be repaired.. There were no excursions offered by Carnival in Nassau because of the previous hurricane in the Bahamas. We were informed that we will be compensated with $100 on board credit per person and 50% off a future sailing. On board credit which you had to use on there ship, so in reality we got no compensation. I fully understand that sometimes issues comes up beyond our control, but I also believe in being treated fairly. The compensation we received for this cruise was terrible considering the hassle we went through. At no point and time was it any of the guest fault that the ship had mechanical issues. Carnival needs to step up and give all there guests that was on this sailing all a better compensation. My family and I probably would not consider Carnival for our next cruise unless we get some other form of compensation for this sailing. This ship needs to be retired it's old and outdated with just too many issues! Read Less

What a complete joke of a cruise. The ship is completely outdated, the food is subpar and not being able to actually go to your destination makes it a very frustrating experience. There was a billow of black smoke pouring out of one side of the stacks as we were about to depart. I knew something was wrong right away. Then the proceeded to take us into 10-15ft swell while telling us that we're not going to make our destinations due to engine problems. Incremental weather I understand but engine problems? I'd that's the case refund us instead of offering some measly ship credit. They should have decommissioned this ship because everything about is old. The pool holds 50 people max with a 2000+ people on board. The 3 jacuzzis are smaller than my bath tub at home and the decor is something out of an 80's movie. Somehow the stars on Cruise Critic show 4 but you can see its actually less than 3.5 stars..... Read Less

First, as so many other reviews let’s start with the fact that they knew this ship was having issues before we left the port and they decided to take off anyway. With one engine working we didn’t go to our designated ports of DR and Grand Turk but instead ended up in Nassau. The refrigerators were not working. The elevators were malfunctioning. The ship was rocking terribly. And for some one who is a frequently cruiser even I had to take some Dramamine. Then to add insult to injury late night past the time that housekeeping should be coming in room an attendant decided to come in my room and stand in the doorway until I awaken out of my sleep and ask him why he’s here. There was roaches in my cabin when I notified guest services of the security issue with “Mr late night peeper” and the cockroach I was insulted by offered a bottle of wine or a steak dinner. My daughter chose this cruise for her wedding and was truly disappointed her honey moon was ruined.. We were suppose to go to Amber Cove and Turk but on the second day of a 5 day cruise we were told that because of of hurricane Jerry we would not be making our destination which is understandable but later that day we were given a memo saying it was because the ship wasn't working correctly. We were then told we would be going to to the Bahamas which most of us ( there was 45 of us) had already been to. There were limited excursion choices since we weren't expected at this port leaving limited things to do in port. We spent 4 out of 5 days at sea. The bathroom in our cabin smelled like sewer the food was not the greatest. The only good thing was our stateroom steward Sheila she was great and so was our waiter in the dining room can't remember his name but we sat at table 420. The people who did the entertainment like Chris the cruise director tried to make everyone's time at sea the best they could did an excellent job but unfortunately the experience has turned us all off with this cruise line . This is my 3rd cruise on the Breeze, once in 2014 and I decided I would not sail her again. Then my sister and I were looking for a cheap getaway, the pricing was good, so with some hesitation I booked the Breeze in July. We had a great time, the food was a marked improvement, entertainment good and service excellent. Then I booked the Bermuda cruise for September 21, with another couple. The itinerary was changed because of the hurricane. No problem, weather happens. The food was just mediocre at best. The steakhouse took forever and my husband got a tough ribeye, 2 of us didn't even get the meal we ordered. The Italian restaurant I have to say was the best meal we had all week. NOTE to VEGANS very few options for you, unless you want too eat pasta all week. We had no problems with the service on board. Embarkation was quick Debarkation was a nightmare with their new procedures. Everyone complained. It took us 2 and a half hours to get off the ship. This was about my 35th cruise, I have lost count and I am a platinum member with Carnival, but at this point I will stick to other lines.. The entertainment was okay, we mostly went to the comedy club. We spent time in the casion, it was very crowded and smokey.. I found the service good, everyone was very friendly and helpful. We chose this cruise because we wanted to see the pink sand of Bermuda. Unfortunately Hurricane Jerry wanted to go there too. So it's still on our bucket list. It came as no surprise when I got the email 2 days before we sailed that the itinerary had been changed. We went to Puerto Rico , Dominican Republic and Turks and Caicos. Turks and Caicos was our favorite. The color of the water was absolutely amazing. About the ship....well I think it needs a bit of a facelift. It's looking old, the public areas were very narrow. My husband has to use a scooter and at times it got very narrow. I think the worse thing was the casino. They allow smoking in the casino and it was awful. We usually play in the evening on other cruises, but the smoke was so bad we did not. For sure I would not go on this ship again. Read Less

We chose this cruise and cruise line based on many great reviews that we read. We wanted something short as this was my first cruise and also we were wanting to bring our 18 month old. We were so excited to see they offered child care for children and the rooms were very nice with a lot of toddler activities or so it seemed. We were extremely disappointed. They advertise child care but don’t advertise their hours. We called NUMEROUS times to get details on the day care and never really got a straight forward answer. SO, here is the TRUTH! They offer child care from 8-10 am. And 10pm-1am. Which are both extremely unreasonable. Our son is asleep before 10, and we wanted to spend time with him in the mornings before people got too crazy later in the day. So the childcare was not beneficial to us in the least bit. The drink package is nice but what they don’t tell you is once you reach your 15 drinks you aren’t even allowed to purchase anything additional. For most people this wouldn’t be an issue. For anyone who might exceed that, here was your warning, lol. Also, you might as well just find a place to sit for the day and make sure it’s near a bar. You have to wait 5 minutes between each drink with the drink package but it takes about 20-25 minutes to get a drink. The cruise director “No-no” is awesome and made every activity so much fun! Even to watch since we didn’t participate in any activities due to no daycare like they advertise. It would have been nice to be able to go to shows and drop the baby off for those times but that wasn’t the case. Every staff member we encountered was extremely enjoyable and you could tell they loved their job. The only exception to that is the bartender in the sky box. I didn’t catch his name but each time we went in there he was extremely rude and obviously overwhelmed. Read Less

Have travelled with carnival in the past and it has been generally good and the dates of this trip worked for me. Let me say quickly that the ship was not up to the usual standard. Food not as varied as previous cruises and the ship looked wore and tired. However the main reason for writing was the fight that broke out in the Tiffany dining room on the 4th night. After a small period of rasied voices one person raised a chair above his head and smashed it into another person's head. This wasn't the end of it. The same person was going to hit the person again had he not been stopped by other guests. Security was called. And it took them some time to arrive at the scene by which time the culprit had left the scene. I did speak to security as i was a witnes to the crime and they showed no interest in me giving a statement and description of the assailant. Therefore for me as a guest, sercurity, passenger safety, and the risk this posses to vunerable peoples safty (a child was in the area and several disabled perople were in the area) leaves me with great concern about carnival attitude to the crimes committed on board. The passenger was taken to the hospital part of the ship and there didnt appear to be any police presence whe we arrived back at dock at the end of the cruise. With that being said i will never book with carnival again and advise others not to do it. I await carnivals response to this. If there is one. Also on a final note about security, let me not dwell to much on the issue with marijuana being smoked on board. Especially previlant on deck 11 the family area. After explicitly being told not to, what was sechrity doing about this. Again await carnivals response to this. Read Less

We chose this cruise to celebrate our anniversary. We like the short itinerary because we had never been on a cruise, and I am super prone to motion sickness. My wife was super excited as we arrived at Port Canaveral. We went through the embarkation process and got on the ship in about 10 or 15 minutes, which was outstanding. We paid for the faster to the fun package, so we should have been allowed immediate access to our room, but we were denied entry by multiple people and had to drag our garment bag and carry on around with is through the crowded lido deck and attempt to get food separated from each other to have one person watch the luggage. That's not exactly the perfect way to start the cruise. As I stated before, I am super prone to motion sickness, so I prepared with the ginger pill dramamine, which did really well for me, but the waves were horrible and rocked the ship until we heard nothing but complaining about it from every cruisegoer we met. I realize this isnt Carnival's fault, but I thought it rich when the captain said we will be having just a light chop for the last day, and it knocked stuff over in rooms. The food was sub par on the buffet, Golden Corral is better, and the lines are shorter. The service is good at the tables, but there are very few things that can be done to make it more palatable because almost everything is pre made. (Even the employees will admit this.) The Silver dining are was fun, but 75% of our meals were just ok. The prime rib on formal night was a giant, universal, fail. We really liked our waiter though, shout out to Cuckoo...as he said he should be called. The room was small, but it said 170 sq ft, so, what do you expect? Well, the shower was clogged, the AC was horrible, and the sink had no water pressure. The AC was fixed on the third night of the cruise, the shower was same day, and the sink never was. Out room attendant, Michael, was quick to accommodate us with a fan and calling maintenance. Nono was the cruise director, and she was awesome. I have nothing but good things to say about her. Nassau was a disappointment, Princess Cay was awesome. The people for the most part were great, and the other parts were not. We will be booking again, but we will try other cruise lines before returning to Carnival. Read Less

We chose this cruise because it left from our usual cruise port and was going to Bermuda. The port was Canaveral which we find exceptionally efficient! Embarkation processing was as fast as we could walk. Cabins were ready by 1:30 and our luggage showed up prior to dinner (we did not have FTTF or elite status). Cabin stewards offer AM, PM, or twice a day servicing, extra pillows and towels when they come to greet you. Our steward was nice and did a pretty good job. The tide bar and blue iguana bar seemed the best at getting a drink fastest, though we never found issues with getting a drink (except in the MDR for dinner) even if the bars were busy. The buffet for lunch was different. It seemed to be busy all the time. The options for meals were pretty small (except dessert during the chocolate extravaganza - wow). Guy's burgers were awesome as always and the service fast there. The taco/burrito bar at the Blue Iguana were wonderful too. Dinner in the Steakhouse was fabulous! I highly recommend it! Our servers were Malana and Pani - Wonderful. The alchemy bar is great for martinis - Vera was the best bartender!! Red Frog Pub was fun as was the server we most often saw - Anthonie. He's hilarious and a treat all his own. We enjoyed the music of Liz & Lucas - they were really really good! Unfortunately they did not often play in the evenings when we were in the Red Frog Pub or Atrium. We'd liked to have seen more of them at night. If you get the chance to see The Sea Sharps with Surplus of Diggity - do. They are remarkable. The female singer is top notch as is the brass section! We usually enjoy the casino on cruises, but this one had such poor ventilation that we never used it at all. It's situated in the middle of deck 5 and unfortunately you must go through it to get from one end to the other - there is no walk around hall. If the doors are locked to outside (which was the case most of our trip due to winds), you have to go up/down stairs, cross over then back down/up to the other side to get across without going through the horrific smell of the casino. The one and only time we went through it we had to go back to the cabin to change clothes right away. It was rough. Our cruise stopped in Bermuda and Grand Turk. We rented a taxi for a tour in Bermuda and they did a great job. It's a very interesting and beautiful place. In Grand Turk we rented a golf cart which worked well for driving around the island. We also stopped at Jack's Shack which was fun to see. The beaches are beautiful and all open to the public to enjoy. This was a cruise to celebrate my sister's birthday. I've been on Carnival 7 day cruises before and had no complaints, but as soon as we entered our balcony stateroom, it was disappointing. The glass on the aft-balcony was dirty and stained brown to the point where you could not sit on the balcony and have any view looking through the glass portion. The balcony chairs and chaise lounge were also dirty. The carpet in the cabin....dirty as evidence from the bottoms of my slippers, so yes, bring slippers and wear them. Not long after sailing, there was a terrible gurgling noise coming from the bathroom. Water (including fecal matter) coming from drain behind the toilet and up from the shower drain. Called cabin steward, who contacted plumber. Came back to the room, and same thing!! Plus, bath mat was still soaking wet and dirty. Called cabin steward, who didn't seem to happy about it. Now, this was after his first appearance where he was laughing and when asked what was so funny, he just said oh the smell is terrible! Went to customer service to make sure this was taken care of and she said the plumber would meet us in the room. Met with plumber, who said the drains were functioning properly and hopefully wouldn't have a problem any longer (we did not, thankfully). Plumber had to call our cabin steward, at our request, to clean the floor of the bathroom and shower. He didn't seem too happy about it, but did it. I mean, there was p-o-o-p on the floor, why wouldn't you clean that? Needless to say, we wore our flip flops in the shower. Yes, bring a cheap pair of flip flops just in case! Seas were rough on our first night out but our room was the only one affected (plumbing issue) from what we could tell (in our general area, at least). There was a foul odor in various parts of the deck as we passed through throughout the cruise. Piano Bar....very tired looking decor. Misso Ferrer was a very good piano player, but his vocals lacked which was disappointing because on previous cruises, the Piano Bar was always a hopping place. America Rocks show with Carnival singers and dancers...Ok, two of the singers did a great job! Otherwise, reminded me of a high school performance. Comedian Michael Macy....very good, unfortunately did not make it to the adult shows. Hairy chest contest and newlywed game...need to be retired Food was good, but don't know why they had the "formal" night at our overnight stay in Nassau. We didn't make it back to the ship until 6pm anyway so opted for dinner on the balcony, which worked out fine. Guy's Burgers and BlueIguana Cantina, very good. Especially liked the breakfast burrito at the Cantina, no lines! Sandwiches and fries at the Deli were excellent. Kids unattended in the Lido whirlpools were crazy, diving from the sides in to the water with a carnival worker standing there doing nothing. Nassau was great. Weather was perfect. Did not do any ship sponsored excursions, opted to book on our own with a food tour. Had a great time and got a little shopping in as well. Would probably not do a three day cruise again, unless the price was right. This hasn't soured me on Carnival, but was overall, disappointed. The only thing that saved the rating from getting a "poor" was the food options, food quality and comedian. Read Less

We are very pleased to have had this experience that will certainly not be the last. Thank you for everything you made us feel and for the energy and joy of your director NoNo. We love her. The attention of my dining room team was excellent: THW- Marcos, Jeffrey Jimenez. TW- Jele, Siphilisiwe, ATW- Chua, Hazel Ong. Something we don't like is the child care schedule that on their first day they only have to register them and very late for what is a day that children cannot enjoy that service they should think of a better schedule and that neither they offer children meals or snacks while they play. They do not know the meaning of "All Inclusive" or customer friendly. Everytime your turn around they are trying to charge you for something. Whether it be the seafood shack or steak house , they are charging you for something, not just the drinks. Don't waste your money on a cruise with Carnivale , they just want to get you on the ship to sell you as much stuff as humanly possible. And, not to mention the cut one of our ports off because of Hurican Dorian, they spend that day trying to sell you more crap u don't need. Their customer service is crap. You tell them your issue and they repeat explanations, not helpful answers but robotic explanations. I was ready to go home the second day. Here's a idea Carnival, if you are going to cut someone's port for any reason, give them the option to either go or reschedule for another day. Oppps, but that may make you loose money and we know that your only concern. Not happy with my shortened trip. Do better Carnival, and stop nickel and diming your customers!!! Read Less

I am a Diamond Member in the Carnival Loyalty Program, so I've sailed with this line at least 75-plus days. I live in Jacksonville FL area and it's an easy drive to both JAX Port and Port Canaveral. I like the character of the older ships based in these two ports, and they are kept ship-shape in every way. My 'outside' cabin was center ship, around the corner from an elevator, was well appointed with more than enough storage, and has a lovely ledge in the window which is large enough for me to sit in and enjoy the ocean view. The food served in the Lido is always enjoyable and there's plenty of variety for even picky eaters like me. There are also a number of alternate eateries. (I skipped the main dining room this trip, but know from past experience the food and service are top-notch.) The cakes served daily are some of the most beautiful and moist that I have ever had anywhere, land or sea. There is always something to do, and a place to do it, from casino action, to lounging in the quiet of the Serenity areas reserved for adults only. My fellow passengers at this time of year, when children are in school, tend to be mostly young adults who drink to excess, and behave badly. I stay away from the parties held on board, and the bars, but the foolishness creeps all over the ship by late evening. BE AWARE: the crew WILL NOT intervene. I avoid the fray by returning to my cabin to read or watch tv, and relax with a glass of wine. I have never let this flaw deter me from cruising with Carnival, and I plan to continue to sailing on their short trips to the Bahamas. If you're not a Diamond Member, be sure to buy the FASTER TO THE FUN PASS and avoid ALL lines and waiting! Read Less

My wife and I just returned from the 5-day Elation cruise from Port Canaveral to Grand Turk and the Dominican Republic. We had a blast and would highly recommend this cruise. However. . . if you are expecting a luxury cruise, you will be disappointed. This is an older vessel, and much smaller than other ships we've been aboard. The buffet selection is limited and the pool is small. But it's like $450 to ride on the ocean, visit sunny Caribbean islands, and partake in all kinds of fun activities. Reading some of the reviews reminds me of the Louis CK bit where customers are complaining about wi-fi problems on an airplane. ("Oh really, what happened next, did you fly through the air incredibly, like a bird? Did you partake in the miracle of human flight"). Grand Turk The port at GT is just like all Carnival ports - a bunch of tourist trap shops and overpriced food. My wife and I did the snorkel excursion which was a good time. If you don't want to hang around on the ship, the beach in GT, (right next to the port) is amazing. Clearest water you can imagine. We also took a cab ($10) to Cockburn Town to check out the local scene. I do NOT recommend this and I would never do it again. Not a lot to see and frankly a bit scary. Dominican Republic We ported in Puerto Plata. The port there is the same old same old. The beaches are a bit further away. My wife and did the monkey excursion and it was phenomenal. A lot of folks rented ATV's or did the cable car or zip lines. Elation Cruise All in all the service was good, the embarkation was easy (expect delays disembarking), and the entertainment offered was fun. I've been on better cruises, but you get a bang for your buck here and if you keep that positive attitude you will be satisfied. Read Less

We chose this ship because it sailed from Port Canaveral (Orlando) to Bermuda. That was the ONLY reason. My previous experience with Carnival was "lowest common denominator". I've been on about 20 cruises with Norwegian, Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Here are my "positive" notes: (1) fastest ever embarkation, (2) arrived at cabin 1:30PM with luggage waiting, (3) lifeboat drill used fast ship-card check in, (4) good quality balcony & deck furniture, (5) beach towels supplied in cabin, (6) cabin well lit (no struggle to read in bed), (7) excellent cake station in buffet - custom cut for you. Previous reviews have criticized the food as bland and uninteresting (and somewhere I've seen Carnival allude to their "hamburger and fried chicken" loving passengers. So I carried a bottle of Herbes de Provence which was unused after the 2nd day. We found the dinner menu quite adequate, imaginative and comparable to other cruise lines. While the Melting Chocolate Cake was the star of the dessert menu, there were other tasty selections such as a nicely done creme brulee. I was a bit disappointed in their preparation of mushrooms. We liked the layout of the buffet - relatively small "rooms" with buffet and nearby tables. No walking 50 yards around all the stations, then trying to find your seatmates. The first night we went late to the show, sat near the starboard door, something wet was dripping on my head and my partner was shivering. We left. During a talk by ship managers, a passenger remarked on the small number of Carnival shows ("on every ship"), and she would like to see more variety (as a frequent Carnival guest). The ship acknowledged the complaint, stated a new show is in the works, they are expensive to produce, and the existing ones have new personnel that bring a new look to an old show. The production shows are a big reason I cruise, so I'm not in a hurry to sail with Carnival again to see the same old thing. The band Sea Squared (if I have that right) was very good. We were particularly impressed with a string trio performing on the central stairway. A lot of talent (of course), with excellent variety., Definitely not "lowest common denominator". They were great. Debarkation went very well. We had to wait about 15 minutes with luggage in hand because the terminal got backed up. Absolutely no problem getting on elevators. We are happy! I have to say I was happily surprised about many things that weren't like I had read on the reviews on this site. This was my husband and my 4th cruise and our two teenage daughters first cruise. We parked our rental car at 528 Port Parking. We only waited a few minutes for the shuttle to Carnival Liberty. It was only $35 to park and the shuttle was included. We arrived an hour earlier than our boarding time but they sent us right on the ship. We went up to the Lido deck and had lunch. Most of the tables were full but the lines were short for food and moved quickly. We didn't check any bags so we headed to our room at 1:30, unpacked and went to the muster. This is a miserable process because it is hot and you are so close to so many people but it seemed to go smoothly. We chose anytime dining and chose to have dinner at 5:30 the first night. We were some of the first to arrive. The service was great, the food was hot and tasted good, the portions are small but I love that because you can try more things. We ate in the dining room every night. The menu was different each time. We even went at different times and we still had great service and great food. As far as other food experiences, we loved the burgers at Guy's, the pizza place was good, the crust was a little thin but we didn't mind that, the deli was good, I had a turkey avocado sandwich on a pretzel bun and it was really good, the breakfast burritos at the Mexican place were to die for (I even ordered an extra at breakfast and ate it for lunch at Atlantis), Sea Day Brunch is a must, I loved the 12 hour french toast, we had chocolate melting cake every night in the dining room, it is so good, the girls ordered room service one day and they liked it, I had read about long lines, we only experienced this at the pizza place once after everything else was closed. Many reviews talked about how old and run down Liberty is. You can tell it is an older ship but it is still nice. Some reviews talked about the workers not clearing tables or cleaning, I saw many of them clearing and cleaning up. Our cabin was an inside cabin and it was super crowded with 4 of us in there but we don't cruise to sit in our room so that didn't matter to us. The a/c didn't stay as cool as we would have liked but we really like it cool. The ship lay out isn't super easy to navigate but you learn quickly. The Carnival Hub app is awesome. I highly recommend using it. It helped with ship navigation but also help us know what activities were happening all the time. We liked the Rock show and the Hasbro Game show. We didn't attend any of the others. My husband went to the casino a few times. He lost his allotted money quickly so he didn't stay long. I played bingo once and liked it. We didn't go to any of the comedy shows. We did however watch movies on deck every night and we loved it. They have popcorn. The girls sat in the hot tub and I on a deck chair. We booked a room at Comfort Inn and Suites to get the free Atlantis tickets that they offer. It was much cheaper than buying through the ship or Atlantis. Book your room ahead of time though because they fill up fast. We had a great time at Atlantis, there were no lines, we loved the rapids river and the slides, we snorkeled in the Lagoon and spent some time on the beach. The water in Nassau is the most beautiful blue. We took a water taxi to Atlantis and we took a regular taxi back to the ship, it was about $20 each way for 4 of us. Make sure you have your sail and sign card and your ID to get back on the ship. Debarkation took longer than we expected but we were on deck 8 so we were the last to be called. We waited about 30 mins for our shuttle. We love cruising and it was fun to see our girls experience cruising. Oh, I almost forgot. I was given a $50 card to use at the spa from Carnival for my birthday that is this week. I had the most amazing combined facial and massage. TY Carnival for the cherry on top. Read Less

When I first booked my cruise on the Breeze I needed a quick get away and was happy it fit my schedule. I did very little research on the ship as I was fairly confident it would be a set up from my prior cruise on the Miracle. The final few days leading up I noticed on social media Breeze has quite the following so I allowed myself to get a excited. Unfortunately, if it weren’t for the friends I vacation with my sailing on the Breeze would’ve been a complete disappointment. As a vacationer I’m pretty easy going. I enjoy relaxing and having some good meals and drinks along the way. Sadly, the Breeze failed me in each category. First, my entire group was very disappointed by the entertainment as a whole. Several members mentioned there “wasn’t much to do on the ship.” I made an effort to enjoy the Spa and while the services were decent I was amazed that Carnival were willing to charge for a day pass when a good portion of the equipment was not working correctly. Now for the most disappointing part. The food was atrocious. The buffet, when it was actually open, was of terrible quality. So bad, we all decided to skip the place all together. The pizza counter struggled to keep up with demand and served lame half pizzas that you would see at a theme park. Leaving the burger joint which admittedly was pretty decent and the main dining room as the only none up-charge meals. For me the main highlight from prior cruises are the experiences you get from the nightly dining. Well, on the Breeze the only experiences I got stained the whole trip. Every the meal took 2.5+ hours to be served. More often than not my requests would go ignored such as asking for a second appetizer. Note, I wasn’t asking for crazy quantities of food just an additional appetizer. So bad that on one occasion I was told the kitchen is closed. To top it of the food we did receive was tasteless across the board. I was so fed up I gave the sushi place a try and while it was okay the menu was ridiculously limited. Not all can be bad though right? Surely with a little booze everything will be alright. For this cruise I sprung on the drink package which is suppose to include all drinks up to $20. Without a doubt the worst decision of the cruise. It wasn’t as simple as ordering a drink and getting it. Every time it was a hassle which usually revolved around the bartender informing me what I can have not what I want. I’m sorry but for $858/2 adults your drinks shouldn’t be limited to premixed well garbage. I purchased the premium internet in order to complete a few things for work. During the 7 day sailing I was able to use the Internet well for maybe 30 minutes. It was a complete failure. Lastly, the Western Caribbean itinerary needs some reworking. Costa Maya is extremely limited as a port and the Belize tender situation is painful. I would not recommend this ship. Read Less
