We did the 5 day. October 12-17. We ended up with two sea days because of hurricane damage to Grand Bahamas. Room 9271- great room great steward. No complaints at all!! Food- The buffets were hit or miss. A lot of the same food every day, Ate a few hot dog lunches. Dinners were very good. Service in the two main restaurants really depends on your server. One night was great the other was very slow. Upcharge restaurants- we did Cagney's and the Brazilian steak house. Both were excellent. Entertainment- of the 5 nights two were given to a comedian. Comedy is very subjective so it was not something we enjoyed. The two stage shows were ok. They are like a good high school musical. Not a lot to do on the ship at night. Over all NCL needs for staff. They give out the drink package and there are not enough servers or bartenders. Lines in the buffet for breakfast and lunch are too long. Great stirrup cay was a nice stop. We wish they would have taken us there twice instead of 2 sea days, Kayak excursion was great. Food on the island was very good. Not enough bars or bartenders. The main beach needs way more sand put on the beach, The rocks and the concrete under the water was painful. Wish I had brought underwater shoes. We still had a great time, NCL is turning into Carnival with a lot of drinking and the drunk groups on board. Lifeguards had to call security to the pool a few times. Read Less

Fantastic service, food and room was plenty spacious for my husband’s scooter. Fully handicapped accessible. Well laid out. Tons of storage space throughout closet and vanity. Nice living room area away from the bed with comfortable sofa and chair seating with a sturdy table. Room close to elevators. Room steward decorated for my birthday and the front desk provided a voucher for a free cake. Took it to the dining room and they allowed us to take it to the cabin after dinner that night. The shows were well done. Pool service stewards were friendly, attentive and courteous. Many activities options-not bombarded constantly with boring art auctions. Cruise Director Lutz has the perfect personality for her job. She is friendly outside of her “stage” performance and announcements. She was enthusiastic about her job. Thank you! Two afternoon movies were shown and a couple of late night movies between the Bliss lounge and Stardust Theater. Ship was well decorated and maintained. Very clean. This was our second trip on this ship and we’ve had a great experience both times! Read Less

Background: This cruise was our first NCL cruise. We are four star (22 cruises) HAL cruisers. We chose this particular cruise as an impromptu getaway. Port Canaveral is an easy drive from our home and this cruise was more of a ship destination for us than a port destination. Given some of the dreadful reviews we had low expectations. We traveled in a Penthouse Suite therefore our experience may be a bit skewed from the other reviews due to the fact we were literally waited on hand and foot and we were able to escape the masses if we chose. I cannot say enough about our Butler and Concierge. They are indeed the most thoughtful, lovey and professional individuals we have ever met on the high seas. The Sun is an older ship (18 years) and was refurbished in 2018. The Sun's decor is a pleasing with lots of wood detailing. She sailed smooth with minimal motion or vibration. Her wear and tear appeared minimal however there was at times a strong smell of sewage in some of the hallways. On one particular evening, in our cabin, after several calls, (4 to be exact) to guest services, it was determined we required several members of the housekeeping staff to wipe down the cabin walls with a disinfectant as the sewage smell was overbearing. Hey, "Ship Happens" and due to the response of guest services and the housekeeping staff at 4 am, we were able to resume sleep and enjoy the next day. Ok, enough about that "Ship." Parking: Parking was plentiful and appeared safe in Port Canaveral Garage 10. Right across from the Ship. Embarkation: Outstanding Service all the way around - Note: Suite PAX have a separate check-in area. Here is where we first met who explained Suite offerings and from there we were personally escorted on board to enjoy a great lunch in Cagney's. We were in our cabin by 12:30p immediately thereafter there was a knock on our door and we met our Butler. Our luggage arrived by 2:30pm and the muster drill was outside on deck at 3:30pm until several rude and annoying late comers later - 4:20pm. What the hell is the matter with horribly ignorant people that you cannot get to a mandatory, well advertised and announced drill on time? (there I had my say;-). Dining: As Suite PAX we were able to dine in Cagney's for both breakfast and lunch, which we did on several days, of course that was great and we also had dinner there several times as well - absolutely exceptional fare and the service was impeccable. We did have room service twice. Francis handles this and it was perfect and on point both times. We had a couple lunches in Moderno, wherein you can make your own sandwiches, you will also find pizza here and it was ok. Moderno for lunch was always kept clean and fresh. We did have a breakfast once in the Garden Cafe (Buffet) however it was later in the morning and it was pretty good. We tried lunch the the GC one day but it was just a "Ship Show" so to speak as it was crowded and food appeared sloppy. We also ate dinner in the Sports Pub one night - service great but food was nothing special. We also had dinner in both Dining Rooms (Seven Seas and Four Seasons) Both were great but we preferred the atmosphere of the Seven Seas over the Four Seasons. Note: Shorts are thankfully not allowed in the Seven Seas (for goodness sake men, put some pants on for dinner:-). Bars - Most were always crowded, therefore always a wait time. Drinks were great and wine selection was plentiful. My favorite bartender is Sophia in the Champagne Bar before dinner. Rude dude later night bartender in The Bliss Lounge- you know what you did buddy. Entertainment - Was hands down just fun, great and entertaining. Note Suite PAX have special seating in the Theater so we had great seats for any night we attended. Pool Area - If you enjoy incredibly loud, ear piercing music, during the daylight hours, this is most definitely the spot for you! Me not so much, yeah like not at all. During the day the music is blaring, no kidding, and if the performers are there, well look out honey. Thankfully there are enough spaces on board the beautiful Sun to move away from the noise pollution or perhaps bring some earplugs.... Exercise options- The lovely Sun has a full and pretty wide Promenade for both walking and jogging, so if you are a walker or a jogger, you will be very happy. The gym is great as well. Plenty of up to date options. We did not join in an exercise group so cannot comment on that. Staff and Service- We found The Sun to have professional, wonderful, kind, caring, appreciative and proud staff/team members from the Captain to his entire crew! There were only 2 staff members we encountered that should perhaps find another profession, but who knows their struggles so who am I to say. In service you reap what you sow. So as a guest be nice, be kind, try some thoughtfulness because it typically goes a long way. It's so annoying reading some of these reviews about the staff/team members as these wonderful, hardworking folks work such long hours, doing repetitive back aching labor for minimum compensation. Oh and if you don't appreciate that commentary...tough, it's my review. Casino- Smoking is allowed - therefore we avoided. Art Show - Did not attend - shows are mostly during the afternoon hours. Shopping Area- It's laid out nicely - several nice pieces and unique items and they have fun games and giveaways. Disembarkation - Suite PAX are escorted off away from the masses. Huge perk! Would I/We recommend the Sailing on the Sun? Yes, Of Course, but only in a Suite:-) Note: I would have given this cruise an overall "Excellent" if it were not for the overbearing sewage smell issue in the Suite on that one fateful night. When the night of your cruise is how well the bar staff and your room steward is that should tell you a lot. Twice while dinning inmain formal dinning room our order was lost. We spent over hour 15 minute both times. The menu basically change between 2 different ones.so unless you opt for paying extra for meals dont expect any thing of quality. The back buffet serves hot dog and hamburger till midnight. The main attraction for breakfast was runny egg omelets. Forget getting an ice tea before noon. After 5 you can only get ice tea in dinning room. My room steward answer my question correctly customer service did not. Bar service was excellent. Prepaying tip is not recommended. Dinner staff in main room dies not care even had one hostess tell us they know we already tip so why care. Bhilly and aileen gave great service in midshipmen dinning room. The food quality was okay. By the why has anyone ever heard of walleye cod? On the menu one night questioned it was oh yes tasty fish. Not one single shrimp dish was served for 5 day cruise. Not worth the money spend it somewhere else. Go on a cruise with good food and service. Read Less

I got an amazing deal last minute so expectations were not high. we were previously on the all inclusive as a group of 25 in June for graduation. This time maybe because we spent more time on the boat . Buffet: Food was ok never fresh. Variety did not exist. one plus- Ice cream always available and they never ran out of cones. Sports bar food you ordered was good warmer but still not hot to be made to order food. Main Dining: we had an amazing server Raul and food was good. Desserts were best! Carrot cake and banana split my favs. Entertainment: was good always get a good laugh out of the game shows. Live band was good too. Pools are small and overcrowded on sea days but we waited til later afternoon and enjoyed a little time. I was presently surprised with the inside cabin 9129. Definitely more spacious than oceanview that we had in June. Room was always clean and fresh I think she knew when we were gone because I only saw her the last two days. ***completely upsetting was "free offer of bev package" was not really free service charge of 20$ a day on top of the regular gratuity charges of $15.00. Add those together and you are paying 35$ a day for services that can be good at times but majority of servers don't deserve tips because they have attitude because you have the drink package. I live close to the port, and have taken NCL cruises at least 8 times, both from SC and Fla. I did the 2018 Sun cruise to the Bahamas last year, same as this year for 2019. It wasn't as good a cruise as the last one due to some obvious changes on board. Le Bistro was so good in 2018, we used all our specialty restaurant credits at that fabulous French place. However, this year, it's obvious they changed chefs. Last year, they had wonderful cone appetizers filled with amazing delights & this year they were not on the menu. Last year, the Steak Au Poivre was awesome. This year, the meat was good, but I've never seen a green peppercorn sauce that was brown with no green peppercorns at all and it tasted like burnt buerre. VERY much changed and went from 5 stars to 2, and I wasn't the only one onboard to also observe the changes. Even the staff knew about it. Now my favorite is Cagneys. Cheese plates that once were available were not found anywhere, as I used to love blue cheese, brie and mixed of cheeses for dessert. Last year, had them all. This year, it was cubed cheddar and another cubed white cheese. Another downhill thing from 2018 to 2019 is the live music. Last year, the bands at the pool were amazing and you could find music most anywhere during the late afternoons or evenings/nights. This year, I could only find the piano player once, and there was never live music at the Atrium bar nor the Champagne bar, except maybe once that I missed? I was forever missing the musicians's very short 30-45 minute venues whereas last year, you could find them and actually listen to music several places within a time frame. The cabin was clean and comfortable, and loved the location mid-front 4th deck. Loved Mark, the funniest and best bartender on the entire ship, who primarily worked at the Atrium bar and kept us all laughing. Met some great people, as always. This is what I call the "relaxing" cruise, but could have enjoyed the more fun ambiance from 2018 (and better food). Read Less

I also went to La Cucina it was very good the restaurant seating area was very elegant. The 2 dinning areas are excellent also. Had a wonderful 4 day cruise with perfect weather, ship and crew/staff were excellent. What brings the whole rating down was the technical issues we experienced with our stateroom. The embarking was a very pleasant and positive experience, very well done. Rooms ready when promised and plenty to do while waiting for the room. Key West was well done given the short amount of time you have there, we did a bike tour and enjoyed the history and sense of humor our guide shared with us. The private island was wonderful with plenty of room to spread out ( we were the only ship on the island, so lots of extra room and no waiting -except at the bar). Specialty dinning was very tasty and service was excellent. Pros: Public areas of ship are in great shape Specialty dinning was a winner, both service and food Arrival and departure was very well done Shore excursions (Key West bike tour and private island beaches both great) Butler and steward both excellent Indoor bars/lounges well done and good service Cons; Technical issues with the room Read Less

We book this cruise last minute. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Embarkation was smooth. We had a balcony cabin 0225 which was nice, but the location wasn't the greatest because we were under the pool deck and could hear the party at night and them setting up chairs early in the morning. Our room steward didn't talk much but was helpful and kind. The food was "ok" . We had a meal at Cagney's which was our best meal. We had had breakfast one morning in MDR and enjoyed the experience . The staff in the MDR were awesome!! We stopped in the Keys, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau. We really enjoyed Great Stirrup Cay. When we stopped in Nassau we booked an excursion for Blue Lagoon. We really enjoyed our day there! Beautiful water and being able to see dolphins up close without having to pay extra. Disembarking was interesting. We did self assist and were some of the first in line. But they had a completely new process with passports. It was a facial recognition and it started messing up soon after a few people went through. Thankfully we were at the front of the line and were able to get off quickly. Not sure how it was going to go for others, cause it was SLOW. All in all a wonderful time! Read Less

It was a great love and joy bonding cruise. The embarkation and disembarkation were effortless. So much smoother than I ever imagined. Our cabin exceeded our expectations and we thoroughly enjoyed the balcony. We experienced the Teppanyaki Hibachi the first night and it was OUTSTANDING! Our Chef was hilarious and very experienced. We enjoyed the food in all the restaurants and cafe's and the desserts and breads were exquisite. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Manuel our room steward was so on top of things. Overall this cruise experience was a good one. Definitely not the best but not bad either. Food definitely has room for improvement. As a person who works in the restaurant industry it’s hard for me to be satisfied with food options and venues. The main dining halls are the complimentary/ no charge dining fare. The food was what you would expect on a so so cruise nothing to rave about. They should offer more variety and cross train their cooks better. Food quality and taste was different everyday for dinner. Though we did eat at two of their ala cart restaurants I was only impressed with one. Food was amazing at that one restaurant. My mom who went two nights before ate the same exact thing but said it was terrible. So not all their cooks are up to par. As for the ship itself it was fairly clean and enjoyable. I did here many people raving about their experience. Stirrup cay was also very beautiful. However my only gripe was that the beach area of the cabana that we rented was extremely rocky and very rough waves. For being a private area I didn’t feel it was worth the money because you really couldn’t relax in the water because of all the rocks and rough waves. The main area for the regular beach goers was much more calm. The cabana itself was a nice way to relax and lounge and we had our own private butler to get out drinks. The other gripe I had about the their island was the food. Sorry NCL it was pretty bad. The ceviche was not cured correctly. It felt like they used the citrus juice concentrate to cure cook the raw seafood. It was bitter and mostly uncooked. Other options were terrible as well. We tried the main dining hall and the food truck and both were flops. Overall the experience was great. We had a great time with our family and the staff treated us great. (I gained way too much weight) Always was able to get a lawn chair on the deck. Best cabin steward ever. Definitely will sail on the sun again. Had a little air conditioner condensation on carpet. They promptly dried it and cleaned it with deodorizer to prevent any smells. Then asked if we were satisfied (we definitely were). Owning a business I realize things sometimes happen, but you measure a business by how well they take care of these issues. I was very impressed by Norwegian! Provided wine and chocolate covered strawberries on our anniversary night, with cake at Maderno. Entertainment was great for a smaller ship. You were always able to get served at the bars very quickly. No waiting at any of the restaurants. Perfect cruise! Read Less

I always had something fun to do or could just relax. My cabin was very comfortable and the housekeeping staff was friendly and efficient. The food was exceptional on the buffet, in the dining rooms, and the specialty dining. I only missed going to Grand Bahama Island because of the devistation hurricane Dorian did to that beautiful island. The other ports were great. The shore excursions were entertaining and enjoyable. The ship was beautifully decorated, designed for convenience, and very well maintained. The crew of the Norwegian Sun was polite and professional at all times. They were most helpful and always had a smile. The ship photographer took amazing photos, and we have great photo souvenirs. We weren't able to visit Freeport, but were given an extra day at sea instead. Although this was enjoyable, a different port or two days at Nassau or Stirrup Cay would have been preferable. The quality of entertainment onboard was somewhat disappointing. Although it was enjoyable, it was too loud. The piano player in the lounge provided great entertainment. The buffet served a wide variety of great food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The quality of food at the complimentary sit down restaurants was very unpredictable. Some meals and dishes were delicious, while others were not. The cabin had enough room for three of us, and we enjoyed the balcony view. I’ve sailed with different Norwegian cruises 5 times before this one, but going on Norwegian Sun was a huge disappointment. It started before the cruise even began when I got a cabin in the back of the ship but specifically payed extra for a mid-ship guaranteed. When I asked to change my cabin for the one I paid for they told me that the ship is fully booked and they couldn’t do that because all mid- ship cabins were taken. The food was bad compared to other ship’s, basically same thing every day in buffet and restaurants. Not much to choose from. The staff wasn’t friendly and seemed like they didn’t want to be on that ship either. One of the islands was canceled due to hurricane damage. The other one wasn’t canceled but still had huge waves and extremely dirty beach from hurricane. And third island, (Norwegian private island) got canceled on the morning we got there due to weather. So we ended up spending lots of time on the ship that I couldn’t wait to get off of. If you’re looking for a fun vacation don’t go during hurricane season and don’t go on Norwegian Sun. Ps and don’t trust a mid-ship guaranteed cabin unless they assign you a mid-ship cabin right away when you pay. Read Less

I chose Norwegian bc I was told it was one of the best. I had gone on a Carnival cruise in the past and wanted to compare my experience. The 1st thing you should know is that due to weather we missed 2 of our 4 ports. The last port being cut was a bit of a surprise. We didn't think the water was that bad (we would have taken a boat to shore). Obviously NCL cannot control the weather, but 2 sea days in place of port days is not an equivalent value in my book. The 2 ports we missed were our beach/snorkeling days so we managed to pay for a Caribbean vacation and not set foot on a beach! Extremely disappointed. I had booked a package that included port credits and was not even offered those credits as onboard credits. I understand that cruise lines write contracts to ensure they make money but I think expecting the customer to take all the loss in this case is poor customer service! I would be interested to know how other cruise lines have handled this kind of situation. Booking experience: My husband booked our last cruise 5 years ago, so I don't recall if we were a bit blindsided by tipping fees after booking or not. But bc they wanted tips paid up front when I included drink and meal upgrades I assumed that all tips were included and got an unpleasant surprise. They also didn't tell me that there was a cut-off for informing them of food allergies. I had missed the cut off date bc they want 25 days notice, but since no one mentioned it at booking I stumbled upon this info when I asked about bringing snacks a few days after the deadline. Allergy accommodations: In spite of missing the deadline the staff on board was largely very kind and understanding. I do have to mention that the lack of communication of procedures to me and lack of communication with each other at times was frustrating. No one told me that I had to preorder my meals for the next day, so at my first breakfast the server was a bit curt with me about needing to preorder. I told her that I was unaware of the procedure and her response was "well, I am telling you now." There is also no alternative menu for ppl with allergies. It would have made the ordering process easier if I knew what they were capable of, but in stead they want me to tell them what I want so they can shoot it down until I say something they can accommodate. Before you start thinking the lack of preparation was due to me missing the deadline you should know that I was told there was another GF and dairy-free person on board! Whatsmore they didn't have much on board to assist in this process, i.e. butter and cheese alternative, GF baked goods other than bread. Milk alternative was not listed on the menu. The only dessert offering was lemon sorbet. While I am used to being left out while others enjoy fine dining it is no less frustrating when you consider all the products out there that are readily available now. General Dining: My mom and sister were rarely impressed. We enjoyed Le Bistro, but that is an upgrade. We dined in the Four Seasons or Seven Seas most often bc my mom preferred to be waited on due to mobility issues. There was one occasion that my sister had to send biscuits and gravy back bc it was "disgusting" and several times that they commented that the presentation was promising but the flavor was mediocre. I would not consider either of them picky eaters or accustomed to fine dining, so to underwhelm them is saying something. The service was generally very good. Our Stateroom: I booked for 3. I was told that we would have 2 twin beds and a foldout couch. When we arrived it was a queen and the couch didn't fold out. Apparently they push twins together to make a queen so that was easily corrected. I just don't know why they wouldn't look at my booking and have it prepared. We had to wait quite some time in the chaos of onboarding before it was corrected. Since the couch didn't fold out as I was told we requested an egg crate pad for additional comfort but my sister was still quite uncomfortable. No expected a foldout couch to be stellar but what we got was substandard. We enjoyed the balcony but in spite of the sign that said the balcony was a no smoking area ppl still smoked! There was no enforcement of the rule. So at times the balcony that I paid extra for was unusable. Entertainment: I remember enjoying Carnival's shows more. I am sure it is personal taste or maybe bad luck. For example, the comedian on this trip was good during the "family show" and OK during the adult show. The comedian on Carnival had me laughing till I couldn't breathe! The game shows were ok. Lots of activities required a fee. Karaoke was ok. It was a machine setup vs a live band set up on Carnival, so way more cool to sing with a band and nice to have someone that would jump in for struggling singers. The vibe was just so much more fun on Carnival. Excursions: They need more detail in the descriptions and need to incentivize reviews. We booked level 1 due to my mom's mobility issues. She walks with a cane. The Key West Land and Sea was appropriately leveled 1. But bc we had to walk 3 blocks to get to the bus tour in Nassau (meaning the bus could not pick us up in front of the boat like in the Keys) it was not appropriately leveled so we were underprepared. I am not sure they would have allowed us to take a wheelchair off the boat even if we paid the $150 rental fee, so I don't know if we could have prevented her discomfort. The tours themselves were nice enough. The Fury glass bottom boat in the Keys was a little disappointing in that the boat is set up so you have to stand around the glass bottom instead of sit. Other glass bottom boats I have been on have bench seats facing the viewing area. Again an issue for my mom. The ride was good otherwise, but it must have taken longer than expected since the land tour was not exactly as described. The description mentioned a couple of stops so passengers could get off for a break or to get a pic and that did not happen. Also the seating on the trolley was uncomfortable for me bc I have long legs. Sitting askew for a hour ride with no break was hard! In contrast, once we were past the long walk to the bus in Nassau, the bus ride itself was as described and the seating was better and the bus had AC! We had a few breaks as described also. We were able to visit the fort, queens staircase, Atlantis, and have rum cake! As mentioned previously we missed out on our beach excursion ports so I cannot speak to those. Would I go again? Not likely any time soon. I had hoped for more for my Mom's birthday cruise experience. She had not been one one for over 40 years and she even mentioned enjoying her last one more for reasons unrelated to her age and mobility. It is hard to pay so much for a mediocre experience and knowing the weather could take half your vacation! Read Less

Overall, ship was clean, service adequate and great week of R&R. Ship layout was odd without a central way to pass through inside, easily overcome by taking an outdoor stroll on deck 11. Stateroom was comfortable, cabin steward surprised us with birthday decorations, including a “cake” made of towels. Food was average at best. Moderno buffet was our favorite location for coffee and simple lunch. Menus in other venues had little variation and not of the same quality as other ships. Very nice dinner at Cagney's, slow service but our food was excellent. LeBistro was not as good for us as other reviewers shared. We enjoyed the bonus upgraded beverage package because of the switch from open bar post booking. It allowed us a bottle of wine with dinner each night. Had two sea days in place of Grand Bahama and GSC with limited poolside entertainment. Birthday special for a spa treatment was a nice bonus on our last day. The week was enjoyable but not sure we’ll sail the Sun again. Read Less

This was our first time cruising, so we researched several cruise lines and cruises destinations. We decided on Norwegian because it suited our style and price the best. We heard so many good things about Norwegian from friends as well! I can say we were not disappointed! We used GoPort from our hotel to the ship terminal. Door to door was easy and worry free trying to find the right terminal and parking. From beginning to end Norwegian staff was attentive and gracious. The excursions we took in Key West and Nassau were great plus getting on and off the ship was stress free. Seven Seas restaurant was our favorite dining place all the way around! I think our choice of a balcony cabin was the best choice for my husband and me. We regularly sat on the balcony enjoying the blue ocean and stars. We are already planning another Norwegian cruise. Next up The British Isles! Read Less

From booking (confusing and expensive add-one), communicating (no replies when I sent my 3 or 4 email questions), mediocre food (nothing exciting or delicious and desserts were gross), long lines for drinks, insane cost of internet, overcrowding (constant chaos) , small pool with terrible TECHNO music the entire time except for occasional 45 min Jamaican band) missing our main island and doing circles all day because the captain didn't want to take us anywhere else! Same cruise ship a week prior rerouted to COZUMEL -but not us!! Bathroom toilets overflowed the first half-hour. My cabin phone was broken. Casino was disgusting and smokers everywhere. Observation area bar should have had the live music because it is a large wasted area for karoake. We couldnt understand the announcements because of the thick accents of the cruise director. Missing the main stop should have warranted a credit back to our expense. Terrible experience. WE WILL NEVER go again. Our "romantic" 10th anniversary was ruined! Read Less

I was aboard the Norwegian Sun for a work trip my company paid for. This was intended to be a treat for our team, but ended up being anything but. If anything, we've bonded over our mutual hate for Norwegian. First of all, and I can't overstate this enough, the food is extremely bad. This is important to state up front, because eating is virtually the only thing to do while you're onboard. The food served on the Norwegian Sun makes Applebees look gourmet. You will dream longfully for the reheated frozen food from TGI Fridays. The Orlando Airport food court will appear to be a culinary Valhalla after your time spent on the Norwegian Sun. Second, this extremely bad food is served by staff that simply don't care. You will sit down for dinner and wait 15 minutes to be greeted by your waiter. Each subsequent visit from your waiter will take 10-20 minutes. Your beverages and food will all arrive at room temperature. Your ability to even speak to your waiter will be blunted by the fact that he speaks under his breath and walks away as soon as he can. Finally, in case you were able to enjoy the cruise for other reasons, it will assuredly be spoiled by the captain's desire to catch air on the waves of the high sea. Multiple nights of my trip were completely sleepless as the captain pushed through intense weather, creating incredible turbulence onboard. The ship violently bobbed up and down for hours on end throughout the night. Many people I know were intensely seasick throughout the cruise because of this completely careless navigation. This is how your vacation tortures you. My work effectively made this trip free for me and I still hated it. I undoubtedly will never board another Norwegian ship for the rest of my life. Read Less

We will not cruise the Norwegian sun again. We never saw our room steward the whole trip. All he/she did was bring fresh towels daily and make or turn down bed. We encountered several rude bartenders and staff. The food was ok nothing special had almost same menu on buffet every breakfast and every dinner. The shows/ entertainment wasn’t fit to watch a lot of singing and dancing to music I wasn’t familiar with. Two small swimming pools beside each other packed full. Didn’t carry us to great stirrup cay because of a storm. But only refunded 22 dollars a person. Of corse that was the port we were wanting to go to the most. Not a very good cruise at all. But enjoyed greatly being with family I also was expecting to see a few towel animals. But the sun had none. We will go back to carnival next time Read Less
