Very nice ship. Service and food at restaurants below average. Full wine list was not available from day one. Ripped-off having to pay 18% service fee on all drinks etc. Cost of shuttle bus expensive. A number of crew members trying to gouge money by inviting to attend paid activities etc. Due to the late arrival of the ship there was total chaos and incompetency by staff at embarkation. Very ...
My parents and I chose this cruise because of the enticing marketing brochure we received in the mail. It was a disaster the first day -- at embarkation. While there was a looming storm, the embarkation staff and procedures were a nightmare. No one could give us any accurate information on when embarkation was to begin. We were advised early on that we had to be at the dock by noon to check ...
About me: 7 prior cruises. Full-time wheelchair user. Somewhat active, wheeling several miles on a typical day. Middle-aged.
I found the Millennium surprisingly UNaccommodating to passengers who, like me, need a wheelchair to get around:
1) My wheelchair-accessible cabin had a ramp to get out to the balcony. Great. But NO ramp on the balcony side, just a 3.5" drop, making it unusable. I had ...
We boarded in Hong Kong on 3rd September, we have been loyal to Royal and Voyager is our favourite ship. On boarding it became immediately obvious that something was seriously wrong. The ship was majorly understaffed and we soon discovered that this was due to Voyager going in for a refit immediately we disembarked!. We had booked the cruise as part of a package with a China Tour included and ...
We recently sailed with Royal Caribbean from Hong Kong to Singapore. We have 25 cruises under our belt and my wife is a Crown & Anchor platinum member. I have read other reviews regarding this sailing and concur with all of the comments made. I have waited to post this review because I wanted to give Royal Caribbean the chance to respond to my letter of complaint. Below I have inserted the ...
Poor guest services. Reported room with noises. Later a broken water pipe outside our door. Two days with noisy air dryer outside door with cords going past door entrance. Complained to guest services and they did nothing. Just smiled and said they would fix it. A few days later the hair dryer was smoking and sparking and killed the electric outlet to dryer. They brought in a handheld dryer until ...
This cruise is aimed at the Chinese market. Facilities on offer including food menu reflects this fact. Very limited choices and the menu’s all have pictures much like MacDonald’s. Baseball caps, shorts and general weekend wear is accepted in the dining restaurants therefore no need to pack jacket, ties or evening gowns.
Splash pools on deck are used by swimmers determined to do many lengths ...
I and my family were on a vacation to Penang and Phuket. It was afternoon when we embarked. The exterior of the ship was patchy, rusty and old. Barnacles lined the bottom.
When we entered the ship, we were immediately directed to WINDJAMMER after checking in.
As we had priority boarding, it was very empty then so we got our food and table within 10 minutes. The carpeted floor was littered ...
I have sailed forty-nine nights now on Royal Caribbean ships over the past 7 years. I guess you could say we are ‘experienced cruisers’. This past cruise was our first trip to Asia- sailing from Hong Kong to Singapore. We sailed aboard the Voyager of the Seas. Normally we have thought Royal Caribbean lines to be a slightly better cruise line than Princess and certainly heads above Norwegian ...
We boarded Silver Shadow on 17th April 2019 in Mumbai for a 9 day cruise visiting ports in India, Oman and UAE. We chose Silver Shadow as we had sailed on her in 2016 in Alaska. In 2016 the ship truly lived up to its 6 star rating in all respects. Comparing the latest trip with the 2016 trip I am sorry to say that Silversea has lost much of its reputation. The only standards that haven't ...
