I choose this cruise because it covered Christmas and New Years. The ship was very short staffed. The staff was friendly and tried to be helpful but way overworked. Could never get anyone's attention to get what we needed in dining room. Saw the waiter when they took your order and brought the food 30 minutes later but then never again not even to remove the dirty dishes so we stacked them on the ...
We chose this ship because were traveling with family and thought the Christmas cruise would suit all of us. We were willing to pay the extra for what we thought was a special holiday cruise. It did not feel that special.
Let me say to begin with that we have been on many cruises with many lines of all classes and 5 on RC. This was the worst. The staff were very good although pressed because ...
We wanted a smaller, intimate ship so that was our reason for choosing the Serenade of the Seas. Food in main dining room was really bad and inedible. My sister's chicken dish was obviously microwaved and inedible. The lobster was overcooked and tough. The appetizers were generally good but the second time that I ordered escargot it was cold. The staff had attitudes except for our cabin ...
Crew service was good. But too much is crammed into restricted space within the ship. If one wants quiet space to sit back relax and enjoy best opt for a balcony suite. During day market type stalls are set up around the ship selling watches, clothing, jewellery. The Atrium is spoilt by cramming in entertainment stage. Main dining room can proved cramped with little space between tables. Food ...
Chose this cruise before the hurricanes, lost most of our ports with THEIR selections. Martinique was a total waste, they didn't even promote shore excursions or shopping, jus dumped you off on your own. St Lucia next was nice, then a short sail to Barbados. It was their Independence Day, everything was closed, we hired a taxi to a beach, could not get there, streets were closed for parade. ...
The ship is large enough to find things to do. The pool deck get a little crowded but that's to be expected. The gym was quite good so that was a big plus.
The cabins are a little outdated. We found ours to be super dusty.
The dining was a really big disappointment as it's one of the things you look forward to on cruises, there were not many options and the meals become repetitive. They ...
We generally cruise Princess but had heard RC was comparable. However, this ship is in dire need of a makeover. The public areas are quite small and they cram you in the main "Centrum" area. We had a large family room (8502) and space was great, but mattress ad furnishings were from the 60s. Incredibly uncomfortable, old and bumpy mattress and chair/sofa were a bit threadbare. There was gum stuck ...
We were not able to get the drinks we wanted on this package. We wanted a double shot of whiskey and we were told that the bartender could lose their jobs because passengers could fall and break their hip. We saw other passengers add a cash tip on top of the bill and then they were given doubles. We saw this at the Schooner bar. The bartender at the Crown and Castle pub was very arrogant. Nothing ...
One of the worst cruises with Royal we have been on. The food was terrible including Giovanni's. The food service in general on the entire ship was bad. Room service was a hit or miss, that is only the continental breakfast. One day they were over an hour late but we had to leave, another day they only got half of the order....
The cabin was worn looking also, furniture has seen better ...
I'm usually a fan of Royal Caribbean and have had two previous cruises with them that I would rate as excellent, but this one wasn't. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and I had pre-booked an ultimate anniversary package, only to find that after I got on the ship it had been cancelled by Royal Caribbean without any notice to me. Then when I tried to re-book it, I was told that ...
