The Caribbean ports were all as expected. We arrived on time each day and the ship was quickly made ready for us to disembark.
The ship in general is old and tired. Some carpeting is badly in need of a change, especially by some of the rooms. Some hallways had sewage smell which detracted from the experience.
The ship is generally understaffed. Meal service was slow because the staff ...
The ports of call were great, a different one every day and no sea days.
Service was exceptional from room steward, waiters, bar tenders and cruise directors.
Main dining room food quality was way below our expectations compared to the 3 other Royal Carribean cruises we have taken. 1/4" New York Strip, come on....
Specialty restaurant, Chops, was fantastic, especially because of our ...
We had always heard Royal Caribbean was the top of the line when it came to cruise ships. So, we decided, this time, to try one. It was a nice cruise but definitely not a step up from Celebrity or Norwegian. The little things were missing, not many dining venues were offered, requests for dining time changes were frowned upon (and actually made us feel awkward — we were a party of only 2!),…We ...
My partner and I needed a break from the weather and the 10 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean seemed like a great solution. We drove to Ft. Lauderdale and parked in the port garage. It did not seem worth the savings to use one of the off-site parking places. We had heard of problems at some of them with shuttle waits and other issues.
I am a Diamond level RCCL cruiser and my partner was on ...
We are Diamond Plus cruisers with RC and this is our first cruise with RC since the pandemic. We chose this cruise based on the itinerary and low price. The stateroom service was great, the bar service was great and the overall service was very good across the ship. The service in the dining room was ok, but still slow at times. The ship is showing its age, but overall it's well maintained and ...
We have done all our cruising on Royal Caribbean, and can definitely state that the newer ships are incorporating more activities but are sacrificing your ability to enjoy the games. You can't play basketball if they are using the bumper cars, or pickleball, or archery like you could do on the outside courts. As a new ship the Odyssey's equipment was not well maintained at all- all the pool ...
On 2/25/23 we had an 8:35 AM flight from Raleigh to Ft. Lauderdale for an 8 day cruise on the Odyssey of the Sea. We landed at 10:20 AM and were on the ship at 11:30 AM. When we boarded it appeared busy and it turns out there were 4412 people on board. With that number of people it appeared crowded in the common area on Deck 4 and 5. Our room was 8624 several cabins behind the midship elevators. ...
I haven’t bothered to write a review in a number of years but thought I should, as Harmony was my first full capacity cruise since Covid hit. I’ve sailed on Harmony many times and the entertainment and activities are what keep me coming back. The food, however, leaves much to be desired. We felt the need to purchase the Unlimited Dining Package this year because of the decline in main dining room ...
I chose this cruise because I wanted to try cruising on an older, smaller cruise ship with my kids. I saw a relatively cheap cruise from Baltimore, Maryland and booked it. My kids were a little disappointed as they were expecting to go on one of the newer cruise ships, but, nevertheless, they had a great time onboard. We entered the ship in the atrium, which really amazed us. For the size and age ...
Our friends have been on this ship twice before and suggested that we book it with them. The ship was beautiful. We especially loved the Solarium, the staff was wonderful, but as I mentioned two things need to change:
Casino: It should be completely nonsmoking. There was so much smoking going on, you couldn't breathe. And the crazy part is, that the staff informed us that when this ship is in ...
