We had always heard Royal Caribbean was the top of the line when it came to cruise ships. So, we decided, this time, to try one. It was a nice cruise but definitely not a step up from Celebrity or Norwegian. The little things were missing, not many dining venues were offered, requests for dining time changes were frowned upon (and actually made us feel awkward — we were a party of only 2!),…We dined nightly and at other times with Royal Caribbean diamond members who were very unhappy with the cruise, as well. We will go elsewhere most likely. Check out which ship you choose, for sure. This ship was full but only offered 2 free sit-down dining options, one of which was a buffet. There was a choice of 1 specialty restaurant ($$) which was very good but offered the same menu each night. Forget a midnight snack! There was one cafe but IF it was open, the line was very long. The bars didn’t have pretzels or nuts, etc, nor did they offer food. We had an excursion cancelled and only knew it because we had credit on our account and just happened to check it. Then we had another cancelled but were given notice. So 2 out of 5 were cancelled and new plans had to be decided upon. We like to plan things out before embarking so we can just relax and not have to think through “what to do”. A game room for evenings would have been welcomed by many as many sat around tables and played cards or games—space was limited for this because of the wind outside. And forget finding a lounge around the pool during our sea days. People went down by 6am to put towels and trinkets on lounges in order to reserve them. There just were not enough seats in these areas. It was frustrating. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture.
We really liked our room. Perfect space for 2. Nicolus was great. When he was absent for 2 training days, we had to call for new towels and cleaning.
A bit junky and run down. Go on an excursion and don’t just brouse the port. Didn’t feel safe.
Beautiful beach! Friendly.
Just went off ship and to the beach. Accommodating and great local food.
