Great cruise, poor guest services

OK for families with younger kids.

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

First Time Cruiser • Age 80s

Our goal was to get our whole family together and give our grandchildren (age 5-11) their first cruise. The ship, the friendly staff, the outstanding waiters all worked well. The kids were happy swimming; we did not use the kids programs at all. They enjoyed the two shows we saw and everyone had a good time. Cabins were very clean as was the ship in general. The significant downside to the cruise ...

Overall okay. Would NOT recommend nail salon.

Cruise was nice, it was definitely on the smaller side and definitely lots of children around. It was a nice experience other than the time I wasted at the nail salon they have on board, it was like every other salon at home I had to wait almost an hour past my appointment time to be taken, AFTER they asked me if I was all set indicating that they didn’t even know I was supposed to be there, and ...

Not enough Gluten Free food. Way too much East Indian food, but it was good but not Every single day! One day of Mexican good and it was bad! A joke. The chocolate mouse jiggled, conscestency of jello and literally No taste. Not chocolate, tho dark, just bla. Carne asada or carne A Sad Duh! was 3 thin slices beef with a blob of spinach on top. Mexican night dinner in dining room had tacos, a ...

6 day cruise just right for price, smaller ship….. Great cruise, friendly personnel, good food, great service. However, guest services manager responded very poorly. Any cabin near the lobby/Centrum entry, any deck, is the worst cabin(s) location aboard this ship. Every night until 11pm, Centrum is entertaining with various music venues and the decibel sound has to be exceptionally beyond/off ...

Radiance Not Exactly Radiant

My wife and I have been on over 30 cruises with all the major criuse lines. We were diappointed in the recent cruise with RCL on the Radiance of the Seas. I understand the ship is some twenty years old and some things are just inherent with age. Some of our are issues are with the ship and others with the overall management of the ship. * We waited from 8:30 am until almost 12 noon for the ...

Not worth it, especially if you travel with kids

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

A family of 3, including a 9 years old child, spent 11 days on board of Radiance of the Seas: 5 days with stops at various Hawaii islands, the rest at sea cruising back to the mainland (Vancouver). Original itinerary included 6 port-of-call days and 5 days at sea, but after collecting the full payment, RCI suddenly changed itinerary to 5 port days and 6 sea days. They offered no compensation ...

Not up to RCL standards

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

This was a substitute cruise for one originally booked w/Princess. We decided to go on another Alaska cruise for various reasons and settled on RCL for this one. This was the fourth cruise we had taken with them so we had certain standards that we expected. Unfortunately, we were disappointed on some of them. First and foremost was the food in the Windjammer buffet. Not only was the selection ...

South Pacific Islands with changing itinerary

We did a 10 day cruise out of Sydney Australia to the South Pacific. We chose Radiance of the Seas for the departure date and itinerary offered. Unfortunately this itinerary started changing immediately after we booked (prior to Coronavirus) and continued changing right through our cruise. Understandably we were on the ship with week Coronavirus starting making news and quarantining other ships ...

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

Due to time restraints the Radiance of the Seas was the only cruise available for our dates. We cruised with another couple which made the experience enjoyable however we were disappointed with several aspects including the need for the ship to be refurbished. One concern was that children were sitting on bar stools in the Champagne Bar - this should be an 18 years and over area. We felt the hard ...

Great Itinerary - Food and Entertainment just ok

I cruised this ship for the itinerary and also wanted to try Royal Caribbean for a change. I have been on a short RCCL cruise on a newer ship, and I knew this was an older smaller ship. The ship itself while worn, was very nice with alot of beautiful windows making it perfect for Alaska. The room attendant was amazing, the general service of the bar staff was great. The LIDO/Windjammer was ...
