The ship is beautiful. This was our first cruise since the Pandemic so we weren't certain what to expect but we were pleasantly surprised and found the ship to be staffed appropriately and most of the staff were well trained. We specifically booked this cruise for the port of Skagway and the train ride shore excursions but this port was changed due to rock slides which affected the dock that ...
We booked this cruise last minute after a cancellation by another cruise line. After booking I read reviews here and my heart kind of sunk thinking we'd booked a pretty sub par Alaskan cruise on a sub par "older style" ship.
Well, I'm VERY pleased to report that was not the case for my wife and I.
The Good
Entertainment (Top notch!; Rock Opera + Spotlight Cafe were both fantastic!). ...
I've always wanted to go to Alaska so I finally decided on a cruise so I could turn the big 50 in the biggest State. We visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, and Victoria. I definitely recommend getting the shore excursions set up before you arrive because there is no telling what will be left to pick from when you get there.
It was easy to get aboard and the entry / exit for each port was easy ...
Summary:
Exploring the different Glaciers in Alaska for 14 days is super awesome. It was an enjoyable and relaxing cruise in the summer.
All the officers and staff were skilled, helpful, friendly, and attentive. The food was above average, the dining service was excellent and the entertainment was amazing. We loved the Canadian comedy show and enjoyed the production shows.

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. two of my friends who went with me were brand new cruisers.
I have been on the Grand, Star, Coral, Pacific, Sapphire, and Emerald. This ship has the nicest layout and space.
Embarkation: Very smooth- ours went a bit quicker due to elite status. However, make sure you do all required paperwork prior to cruise. The Medallion app is a little tricky with ...
I can say amazing, but that word means so many things to people. Here's what it means to me and why this cruise was absolutely amazing for me:
- surrounded by incredible views from anywhere on the ship. From watching whales on our balcony, otter seals swimming by that looked like they were waving, sunsets and majestic mountains and glaciers - it was like sailing in paradise.
- outstanding ...
My in-laws planned and purchased this cruise for our family, and it was the first cruise for four of the six of us. I really wasn't sure if I was a "cruise person," but after this trip, I want to come back for more! Everything about this ship and the cruise itself was delightful (minus the internet glitches), and I mean EVERYTHING -- food, beverages, entertainment, education/learning ...
Joined friends who are also Princess Captains Circle members. Sailing from San Francisco means no flights. The ship was well run and clean. Staff was friendly. Our cabin steward was the best. He knew and remembered our names right away. Medallion Class is a real plus and the staff know who you are and your preferences thru the system. Medallion Net however is sketchy at best. For the first ...
We had so much fun taking Princess North to Alaska again. Star, Grand, now the Ruby has taken us to visit popular ports of call in Alaska. Due to covid our ship was not full. Almost full but not entirely. Sailing 07/22. I am not sure if capacity was limited due to staff availability or simply not enough staff ready to get to full levels. My DW and I are vaccinated (not boosted). We got vaccinated ...
My wife and I just returned from an 11 day cruise/tour on the Royal Princess. Our cruise/tour stated on land in Fairbanks and we stayed in the Princess Lodges during the land portion. We had hoped that going in July would have resulted in a cruise/tour with clear skies a warm days but that was not the case. For the most part it was cold and wet the majority of the time with temperatures in the ...
