The Majestic has done it again -
the service is poor, the food is below bad and tasteless, activities are boring, shows are like 5th grade talent shows, they nickle and dime you for everything and now they are charging extra if the dining areas if you want steak or lobster or if you ask for seconds!. The Alfredos pizza place was basically empty except for people that had extra packages, but ...
This was our first Princess cruise - and it won't be our last! We have cruised Carnival and NCL and usually choose our ship based on the itinerary, price etc... Several family members encouraged us to try Princess so when we saw the repositioning deal for the Majestic from Vancouver to LA it was a great time to try it - we chose a balcony cabin with Princess Plus. We made a $200 bid to upgrade ...
While most of the staff were very friendly and go out of their way to help you, guest services left must to be desired. Unless you purchase upgrades and shore excursions, don't expect must. Preferential service is give to passengers who pay the extra money, the rest of the passengers' needs are only seen if the staff has time. This includes disembarkation times at ports. If you stop at a port that ...
This is our second trip on Majestic in two years; the first of which was to New Zealand.
THE GOOD
The good news is that the overall energy level has much improved since our lethargic NZ experience. The cruise director and his staff did a great job of keeping us all engaged and there was fun enjoyed by all.
We had a mini suite which was clean and perfectly managed by our steward, Aldwin. ...
We choose this cruise because of the itinerary. Also because 30 years ago I had a great experience aboard Princess cruises. This time was different. Despite having been on at least 50 cruises, we found this ship very hard to navigate. The layout is just terrible and makes no sense. We also found the interior very kitsch, outdated and tacky. This ship was originally made for the Asian market and ...
Princess has a great Reputation in Alaska. Waiter, and Dining Room Staff did an excellent job. We talked with a Restaurant Manager shortly after boarding and he gave us a great seat by the window in the Aft Dining Room Allegro. We were seated on the far right down the Waiter Isle. Off to the left. We usually always have good service by Cruise waitstaff on our cruises, but these Fellows were the ...
I just had the time of my life on a Majestic Princess Cruise Tour to Alaska. I admit my cruising experience is limited, having taken one deplorable Bahamian Carnival cruise in the early 1990's, but I think thought Majestic Princess was elegant, our balcony stateroom was plenty roomy for our needs and the staff, even this late in the season, were friendly and accommodating, and some were downright ...
I am impressed with Princess. We sailed on the Enchanted Princess in February and just did the Majestic Princess in a 12 day Land/Sea cruise. Ships are almost identical. Everything was great--good food in the dining room and buffet, good comedians, great Enclave spa, good ports, no trouble disembarking or embarking, great bartenders, great room steward, etc. We especially liked the Medallion. ...
We wanted to tour Alaska and this 7 day, 6 night cruise showed interesting ports. What we didn't understand was that out of 7 days, there were only 3 port days (except for the day we embarked and disembarked. Two of those 3 port days, we had to return to the ship by 3:30-4:00, leaving so little time to schedule any interesting excursions.
The ship was clean, the pool area nice, the food ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We went from Vancouver, BC to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Whittier in the cruise portion of the trip. In Ketchikan we did the Aleutian Ballad and the tour operators were very knowledgeable and informative. They are/were actual Bearing Sea crab fishermen. It was a great tour. In Juneau we chose a combination Mendenhall Glacier hike/Whale watch ...
