Getting away with walking difficulties

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Several years I started a series of blogs relating our adventures[and misadventures] of cruising with someone who has walking difficulties ie my husband. For anonymity I call him 6. You may remember the 70s series about Steve Austin an astronaut who was severely injured and rebuilt with bionics to the tune of 6 million dollars. Well as a result of Rheumatoid arthritis hitting him in his ...

My husband and I booked this cruise for our 25th wedding anniversary. We flew I to Rome two days before the cruise in order to decompress and explore a bit of Rome before embarking. Because I have mobility issues, we arrived at the port and I was provided a wheelchair and was processed immediately. Our cabin was also ready when we embarked. We stayed in a balcony on the forward side of the ship. ...

We chose this cruise as a family vacation for a group of seven family members ages 17-73. It was the first trip to Europe for 5 of the seven cruisers. This was the 25th cruise for my husband and I. We booked 3 mini-suites on Deck 13. The cabins were excellent, however, the balconies were tiny. Great living quarters and large and spacious bathroom. The ship was beautiful and well-maintained. Our ...

Four Out Of Five - that's unheard of!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We cruised on the Epic from 30/05/23 to 08/06/23 from 'Rome' to 'Rome', stopping in Naples, Palma (Mallorca), Ibiza, Barcelona, Cannes and Livorno. We had previously cruised on the Epic transatlantic from Lisbon to NYC in December, and I had not planned to review this cruise. However, this cruise ended up differing quite a lot because of the changes brought forward by Norwegian in-between cruises ...

Lovely ship ! Getting on in Rome was simple . Getting off in Portugal was also quick . Food was great in the main dining rooms, so so at Buffetts, Osheehans not as good on this ship. hotdogs and hamburgers were not edible. All housekeeping dining , guest services staff wonderful and friendly! all except the dreaded shore excursion team! in particular the assistant manager! how on earth is it ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise as we’ve always wanted to see the Mediterranean. We arrived in Rome a day early and stayed near the Trevi Fountain. Embarking was quick and easy in Civitavecchia and disembarking in Athens allowed us to see a number of ports. The only disappointment was the change in port from Monaco to Saint Tropez. When we got to Saint Tropez on Sunday, everything was closed. Being ...

Our Most Challenging Cruise and Trip to Date: 22 days from Rome to Israel In November 2019, we had been on a wonderful B2B cruise in the western and eastern Mediterranean on the MSC Grandiosa and the NCL Spirit. We were excited to return to Israel to see more sites and experience history and culture, so we booked the NCL Epic from Nov 3-15, 2022. This 2022 cruise was far more challenging than ...

Transatlantic adventure

We had never done a transatlantic before and we're not getting any younger, so we figured now or never...and never wasn't an option. We had a Mediterranean cruise on the Escape canceled in May, 2020 and were determined to do this one. The ship itself was practically spotless. The crew was extremely friendly, always smiling and greeting you in the hallways. Our cabin steward, Ryan, was superb. ...

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary. 11 ports and finishing up in New York City. We were going to visit our daughter in Virginia after the cruise. We spent three nights in Rome. Weather was fabulous, however many Italians were on vacation for the all saints break. Rome consequently it was very very crowded. We still enjoyed it and explored areas we have not visited before. Boarding the ...

1ST Transatlantic Trip

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This was our first transatlantic trip. We have sailed on Norwegian before and really had no issues. I can't say enough about the staff they were great, friendly and accommodating. My husband uses a walker, and they attended to his needs at all times. Love the performances and shows, except the one duo, who had no personality at all on stage, they looked bored. The Entertainment Team did an ...
