Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I spent my first Transatlantic cruise onboard the Getaway. I was already familiar with the ship, having taken her a few years ago for an 8-Day adventure through Scandinavia, Russia & the Baltic, which was incredible. The ship is quite comfortable and this time I was a bit nervous, as my bid for a balcony room was not accepted and for the first time in my half dozen cruises, I was in steerage (5th ...

Concerns Not Realized

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Long time 4 Star Holland Customers. Picked NCL because of the itinerary(transatlantic crossing) and price. We’re worried about being on a 4000 passenger ship with lots of kids (youngest kids on Holland are 45). Worries never realized. Layout of ship with lots of small ares, including a dozen or more restaurants and two dozen bars never felt like we were on a mega ship. Children were a delight. ...

A great getaway, on the Getaway!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

I will keep this short to highlight the positive because frankly there were very few issues of concern to talk about. The Getaway is an older ship that really did not show her age and you really had to look hard to find signs of wear anywhere. The ship is very well maintained and clean in all areas. Food quality, choices and presentation to include excellant service was the best we have ever had ...

Just wanted to give my review on the NCL Getaway.

First, I would like to say I've only cruised with Royal Caribbean (16 times) and it's the only cruise line I know. My lovely wife wanted something other than the boring Western Caribbean itinerary that's offered from our home port in Galveston TX. We've traveled to Florida ports many times, to link up with RCL ships providing better destinations. We also hold shares with all three companies, so ...

An adventure to new places

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We have cruised in the Caribbean many times, but always in the western part. This cruise took us to several ports we had not visited. The weather was good and we had a great time. I guess the only downsides we saw were increased gratuities, but less service. I understand that the cruise lines are trying to make up for lost revenue during Covid, but hiring fewer cabin stewards and ...

Great cruise on the NCL Getaway

For the most part, this was a great cruise. The itinerary was wonderful. Here are some observations. We parked in the terminal and I was afraid there wouldn’t be any parking available because we were departing on a Monday, but there was plenty. Embarkation was great and not a problem. I did get flagged for bringing on wine as expected. I told the guy manning the check-in table that I ...

Escaping to the Caribbean with walking difficulties

Several years I started a series of blogs relating our adventures[and misadventures] of cruising with someone who has walking difficulties ie my husband. For anonymity I call him 6. You may remember the 70s series about Steve Austin an astronaut who was severely injured and rebuilt with bionics to the tune of 6 million dollars. Well as a result of Rheumatoid arthritis hitting him in his ...

We grandparents joined our son and his wife and four daughters for this fun cruise aboard NCL Escape over Spring Break 2023. Ship In General: This is a very large ship, and is well kept. Very clean. It is not what I would call a beautiful ship. Doesn’t have a lot of wow factor interior spaces, but has multiple very nice included dining venues, many entertainment venues, and many extra charge ...

My DH and I (both in our 40’s) from upstate New York embarked on the Prima as the first week of our 2 week Vacation! After a highly stressful 2022, we opted for a B9 Spa Balcony Room for this week of relaxation and recouping! PORT CANAVERAL: We fly into MCO on Friday evening, staying with Family before heading out to PC Saturday Afternoon. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Cape ...

We made the mistake of booking during Spring Break but still had a good time!

My first review on CC but have cruised 7 times before, all on NCL. We made the mistake of booking this cruise during Spring Break and Florida school break, 1500 kids on board! So we went with a ton of patience built up and low expectations of enjoying the cruise but we were wrong, yes it was crowded and the pool and sun decks packed but we still managed to find quiet spots and enjoyed ourselves ...
