We organised this cruise as a relaxing week in the sun for me and my wife, visiting a couple of new ports (for us) and a few old favourites. The pre-planning by Scotland's Cruise Centre was top notch. We flew from Edinburgh to Barcelona and jumped in a taxi to the port (39 Euros) without a hitch. The process of welcoming us on board was flawless and our luggage arrived at our stateroom within half ...
This was cancelled twice due to covid so we were excited to finally go. Second cruise on Epic, so we knew what to expect.
Embarkation smooth and trouble free, food was wonderful, staff attentive and brilliant. Masks were not enforced, only when docked at Italian ports, which we fully expected.
But Ship is starting to show its age a bit. Discoloured tiling and stains on pool, worn benches ...
Mainly choose this cruise since it was relatively easy to book at a late date prior and was interested in the ports of call. Had been to most of ports before both cruise and non-cruise.
Embarkation was relatively smooth, but there was a free shuttle service from train station that we were not aware so ended up walking. My miss, but I think NCL could have done a better job promoting ...
This is a review of my family’s cruise on the Norwegian Epic from Rome to Rome beginning 5/31/2021. We had a fantastic time.
Rome
We arranged through NCL to have 3 nights in Rome before our cruise. NCL provided shuttles to and from the port, but not from and to the airport which we managed ourselves. It’s a good idea to get into your departure city a day before the cruise in case of airline ...
We had booked the Greek Isles for October 2020, but Covid intervened, and the cruise was cancelled. We rebooked for May 2022, and all was a go. Embarkation was very easy because we had Covid tests before travelling to Rome. Better to have the test and not need it than the reverse. The ship was only 40% full because NCL is gradually ramping up, but their entire fleet is now sailing. The ship ...
The following reviews were sent to NCL Customer Relations for Our May 21-31 NCL Norwegian Escape Mediterranean Cruise and shared here; vis-a-vis,
Noisy Stateroom - Please understand that we live in Seattle, WA and our flight time to arrive into Rome & onward to our boarding port of Civitavecchia is almost 20+ hours including transit and ground travel, hence we did not have any sleep the evening ...
We were a little hesitant about our first cruise post pandemic, wondering how much might be altered and if there would be a lot of up-selling to recoup lost revenue during covid. We needn’t have worried.
From the moment we stepped on board, we were continuously warmly welcomed and nothing was too much for the staff. You really do feel great morale with the staff - relaxed, happy, chatty, keen ...
My wife and I decided that we wanted to take a Med Cruise years ago and had booked a sailing with NCL in May 2020. Obviously, that was cancelled and we were forced to reschedule several times until this sailing took place.
We booked a Spa Suite in the Haven and we very happy with the room and the Haven staff. The concierge, David, was extremely helpful and the bartenders at the lounge are ...
This cruise was chosen due to the locations that it was traveling to. It seemed like a fun idea to travel so European countries and go on the excursions. We were so excited, but as the cruise went on, there were more and more red flags.
CONS
-The water does not come with the drink package. You have to pay for water bottles, and you are not able to fill you water bottles at the drinking ...
This was my second time on the Epic and third cruise with Norwegian. Cruising is 99% back to normal, with very few COVID restrictions remaining (this took me by surprise). According to the GM at the Q&A session on May 21, we had 3000 passengers and 1500 crew onboard (about 80% capacity). He said they can’t go any higher with the current restrictions, but I am not sure what restrictions are left, ...
