Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

I chose this cruise because I had to use a weeks vacation before year end and we received a very good price. Overall the cruise and ship was very nice. Cons: Embarkation in NYC was terrible. the lines were very long with 2 security check points check in agents. Disappointed with NCL MDR selections, no lobster, no shrimp meals, no shrimp cocktail, no prime rib. no tenderloin etc. ...

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Norwegian Gem

We loved the Gem and had looked forward to returning, unfortunately, this will likely be one of our last Norwegian cruises due to the following: 1. Boarding/embarkation took about 2 to 2.5 hours. Spoke with other frequent cruisers and confirmed that this was the worse wait time. Our particular agent was grumpy. 2. Quality of food has decreased. Meats were usually overcooked and tough to ...

Another great Norwegian cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We chose this cruise to go to new destinations. The overall experience was excellent. Though all of our dining experiences were great; the meal in Ocean Blue (Speciality Restaurant) was above the rest. We had a perfect night to sit outside for dinner which added to the overall experience. Our favorite excursion was visiting the Costa Maya Chacchoben Mayan Ruins. Our guide Daniel Jr. was ...

Our friends suggested due to ther experience on Norwegian Bliss was over the top but this ship lacked over the top.. One positive thing was our Steward in housekeeping Vincy he was wonderful and anticipated our needs and he was on point and was attentive If it wasnt for him i would have had an even worse experience. My friends in 8740 had a terrible steward experience and i witnessed it. So shout ...

Highs and lows

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

For context: I traveled solo on the Getaway Dec 13-22, 2019. This was my second cruise - but first with Norwegian and first solo. I have previously sailed RCCL Allure of the Seas. I sailed in a Studio room for most of the cruise (more on that later), and I had the drink package perk. OVERALL This cruise had some highs and some lows, but it was generally good. I really enjoyed many of ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

An extremely nice cruise with so many positives and just one negative (the slot pull) experience. We had a very smooth embarkation. I along with my husband were the people who arranged the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet Party and Slot Pull for our cruise. It took a lot of work to make it all come together but it was well worth it. Everyone who took part in our Cruise Critic Roll Call had an ...

This was my second time on Norwegian Pearl and 9th cruise with Norwegian. I really like the size of Norwegian Pearl and the thermal suite. This trip I traveled with my two teens. We had two inside cabins on deck 8. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. We sailed on a Friday and came back on a Wednesday. We had very little port traffic. My previous trip on this ship was wonderful. Things ...

A Day in the Life of a experience Cruiser on NCL Sun This was a girls cruise and we booked b2b just to be on the sea. The price was incredible almost unheard of. (10 days for $400).. This was a book on Wednesday on the ship Thursday. My friend was flying in from Canada and her plane was 2 hours late. I had booked a transport from the Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral. There ...

Let me start by saying that I have cruised over 25 times, and usually travel on Carnival, where I am Platinum. We just returned from 5 day itinerary to Costa Maya and Cozumel. The ports were fun as usual, so I'll spend some time talking about the ship. SERVICE/SHIP: I have been on NCL several times before, and it seemed to me that the service was much better on this ship, perhaps because it ...

Fun and relaxing at an astonishing low price

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Sun

We are not at all brand loyal in cruising. Internet search engines and fate decide where and when we cruise. We are very old fashioned though- ballroom dancing, libraries and walk around promenade decks are a huge draw. Low prices are important for me – and I am fine with an ocean view cabin (for the record DW prefers a balcony). The idea is if the price is low enough we can go more often. ...
