We had not traveled in over 2 years and wanted to do something "manageable" given some of our age/mobility issues. While we have taken 20 cruises throughout the years, this was the first completely American one - American built ship, all U.S.A. ports, etc.
The ship is lovely and beautifully appointed. It manages to include many of the amenities one would find on a larger ship: small library, ...
This was was my first river cruise, but I traveled with three others who had traveled with AQSC before and love river cruising, especially the HO-HO opportunities offered by AQSC. They agreed, this cruise was a letdown.
We sailed from Clarkston to Portland and I’d recommend that sailing, especially if you are a Lewis & Clark fan. You get to experience the changing scenery and follow their ...

DH and I are from Upstate NY and are in our early 60's. Of course, Covid wiped out two cruises we had scheduled in 2020 and two in 2021; our TA called and wondered if we'd be interested in an American Cruise Lines sailing. She had recommended the Columbia/Snake River cruise, but I saw the Puget Sound cruise and thought I'd like to try it.
Covid added some extra requirements; we had to submit ...
This was my first ever river cruise after 37 ocean cruises. I enjoyed it, but expected a premium experience for the price paid, and it fell short in a few areas. My week in a solo cabin on the Countess (a $3,000 total fare) was $600 more than a week on my favorite ship ever, the Queen Mary 2, where both the food and the service were really outstanding. The food on the Countess was very good, ...

Dear Beth Y,
We appreciate you sharing how much you overall enjoyed your experience with us! I do want to apologize for the missed Earl Grey and the wait at the host stand. It sounds like we...
We cruised on the American Countess which left New Orleans on May 16. Overall it was a good trip, particularly the entertainment and the dining.
The cruise included one night at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans. This allowed for a conference room to be used for pre-cruise COVID testing. That part was easy and we got our results via email in about an hour.
Check-in was complicated by ...

Background Information: I picked this cruise because I had a hip replacement and I wanted to test out whether I could travel independently. I use a mobility scooter or alternately a heavy duty walker which enables me to sit on it when I am tired, because I still cannot walk very far. There were single cabins available so I would not have to pay a supplement. I also wanted to revisit some of ...
For our first post-COVID adventure, we decided to see more of the USA, and a riverboat cruise down the mighty Mississippi has always sounded alluring. We sailed downstream, from Memphis to New Orleans, on the beautiful and stately American Queen. We spend three nights pre-cruise in Memphis, one of which was included in the cruise fare. The cruise line hotel was The Peabody, "The South's Grand ...

We hadn't been anywhere since February 2020. No boat, airplane or bus and after all our ocean and European cruises were cancelled, we decided to try this. My husband had read "Undaunted Courage" and always wanted to try the cruise on the Columbia/Snake River following the Lewis and Clark Expedition. The American Song was built in 2019 and was a pretty new ship. We flew to Spokane via Minneapolis. ...
This is a fantastic cruise for the history buff. Learned a lot about the Lewis and Clark expedition. Very interesting and educational excursions. We had a great cabin steward who took very good care of us and our stateroom. The Educational talks were very good with a very knowledgeable speaker. Local entertainment was brought onboard in the way of Native American performers.
The dining room ...
We were looking for a trip in the US and this one on the Intracoastal Waterway was a good deal compared to the same trip on the same boat with Road Scholar. Based on reviews on this site we weren't sure what condition the boat would be in.
The boat had new carpeting and paint and was in good shape. The stateroom was good sized and comfortable. Our only issue was that the shower wasn't ...
