Unlike some other reviewers, we found the Viking Star cruise we took out of Stockholm to have numerous disappointments. We started the cruise with Viking's pre-cruise trip to Iceland. Iceland itself is an interesting although mostly undeveloped country. The people are friendly and the geography is stark but often amazing. Viking's choice of hotel was sub-par and not at all of the same class as ...
I am afraid that it is unlikely that I will consider Viking for another ocean trip after my experience here. Whilst the experience was not awful by any stretch of the imagination, it was not anywhere near as good as the overhyped advertising that we saw.
DINING
The dining experience was reasonable and the waiting staff were good apart from one senior member of crew in the restaurant who ...
This review may be unusual, but we want to let potential Regent Cruisers what we experienced. We chose Regent because we wanted the all inclusive trip. We wanted a little stress as possible. Regent did not live up to their promise.
We booked & paid 4/6/15. On 4/21 I received the call that we must pay an additional $300. for our "Free" Hotel in Anchorage, as the Regent Agent made an error ...
The cruise was pretty good, definitely geared toward an older crowd. The Alaska Cruise was great, but it was after we returned that the harassment began. Despite multiple request and attempts to be removed from the mailing list, I receive at least 2 brochures a week and when I tried to unsubscribe through the website, then I started to get emails. I will NEVER sail with them again due to their ...
We've traveled on Windstar Sailing ships for 22 years. We've also been on the Pride when it was a Seabourn ship. It is not in top condition under Windstar's operation. Our cabin had rust stains in the window area, around the bathtub and the carpet looked worn. The tub was not draining when we checked in on day one. After reporting that and the stuck shower control those items were fixed. ...
This was my 61st cruise, first with Oceania. Overall a very nice cruise, with a few glitches here and there that could be easily fixed with this line to make it nearly perfect.
We flew from Washington DC to Vancouver. Our air and transfers were done with the cruise line. I thought it was rather strange that I received confirmation from both my travel agent as well as Oceania about the air ...
We sailed Oceania's “River Routes and Channel Crossings” aboard Marina from Montreal to Southampton in May and June. In some ways we had a fine trip, but Oceania fell well short of excellence. Checking in, and departing, took only minutes. The ship is pretty from the outside and beautiful inside. Well decorated. Looks nearly brand new. The staterooms are attractive and comfortable, but are poorly ...
We chose & booked this cruise over a year ago, for the itinerary. We embarked in Montreal which was easy and fast our intent was to check-in and leave to go back and spend more time with our friends. Once on board we found out the safety drill was at 5:00 p.m. That put a crimp in our plans a bit, but the ship was leaving at 11:59 p.m.
The first few days and ports, Quebec, Trois-Rivieres ...
Everything about this cruise is mediocre. This is our 6th cruise and it just didnt do it for us. If not for our room butler Rey, this cruise was a let-down. To make matters worse, we ordered steaks three times and requested medium rare, and all three times medium to medium well arrived. (I thought maybe it will improve!) On our last evening at Le Champagne, my friend's spouse and my wife ordered ...
This is our second cruise on Cunard, the first being our first ocean cruise being 22 nights on Queen Mary 2 in 2012. In between we have been on 4 other cruises with Celebrity.
Queen Elizabeth is Cunard's newest ship first entering service in 2010, and overall, the standard of service fell way below expectations. Our stateroom and the attendant staff were as expected, but the main complaint is ...
