Not a great fan of yours booked through the ships, they are up to twice the price of tours that you can book through shore excursion companies, and you are captive on a 45 passenger bus, forever waiting for stragglers and hurdled quickly through the highlighters venues.

Not a great fan of tours booked through the ship, except that Copenhagen is easy to cover on foot, and the shore excursion gave us reasonable free time, it was not much more than a multi drop shuttle, not great value for money

Due to a bureaucratic standoff between the ships Captian and the Port Pilot, the planned call into Stockholm was cancelled - a great disappointment to many, with a token compensation from Cunard (but this is in the very fine print so we have no comeback)

There is nothing better than to have the man standing with a sign with your name at the end of the Pier - a well appointed mini-van with only 6 in the party, and almost half the cost of the same excursion booked through the ship

Much hype surrounds the use and value of Amber, but I for one am not overly in awe of the material, and the exclusive use of Amber in this room did not do much for me - sort of looks a bit artificial

One needs to see the excesses and the extravagance of the ruling classes, only then can one appreciate the need for a revolution. The dilemma is why was it all rebuilt after the revolution, and again rebuilt after WW11? Seems to contradict the Socialist Ideal?

Seen as part of a city tour, just the scale of the mosaics is inspiring, but much of what you see has been extensively reconstructed. While impressive, I would not rate this as highly as Revena or Malta if it is mosaics you would like to see.

The highlight was the private night tour of the Hermatige with a concert by the St Pertersberg Symphony. Otherwise, St Petersburg has so much to see it is difficult to cover in 2 days. We did seem to spend a significant amount of our time repeatedly Criss crossing the city, and as such the coordination could be better - but this is Russia, their country, their program!

The river cruise is possibly a better option than a city tour by bus, you pass most of the same notable buildings, plus a few such as the summer palace and gardens that the bus does not necessarily pass. The river cruise was a relaxed way to see the city

Historic, but not as spectacular as some of the other sights St Petersburg has to offer. If you needed to delete something to fit in with your day this could be a candidate.

This was the highlight of the trip, to have a couple of hours of private access to the Hermatige after hours, and sit through a concert by one of the worlds renowned symphonies. We did hear som criticism from people who had a similar experience in the past that the number of players was a small "B" team, but we did not feel that this the case with our night.

Rostock is not large and all that is required is a shuttle from the port of Warnemunde to Rostock and allow people to explore on their own. The tour was a bit slow

We simply took the shuttle to the centre of town. We did experience a concert of the schools musicians in the Church, and the towns museums are a must for those with an interest in ancient history. A well preserved insight into life 3-4,000 years ago.

Wine on cruise ships is always a topic of complaint, but any seasoned traveller will know that the bottle which costs $10 in the local bottle shop will be $50 to $60 on the ship.We knowingly purchased such wine in a "Wine Package", which had a selection of 7 whites and 7 reds (no sparkling), but Cunard have made this package rather difficult to use.
