Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was our first trans Atlantic cruise and we were excited to choose the Norwegian shiping line following our amazing cruise on the Norwegian Spirit around the Greek Islands. The Epic in our mind left a lot to be desired. It is advertised as a quirky boat but that does not account for deficiencies in some basic comforts for e.g. we had a balcony room on the 11 floor and our feet hung out the ...

Very good, with some room for improvement

I wish there were a 3 1/2 star option for the rating, as the cruise was good (not very good or average). NCL is our favorite cruise line and this was our 25th anniversary, so a Transatlantic cruise was a no-brainer. First off, we did enjoy many facets of the cruise, but there are some things that need improvement. 1. Food was great whether you were in the Garden Cafe, Taste, Manhattan Room or ...

Norwegian Cruise Line, Ship Epic, Category H6 / Stateroom 10326 Haven Suite 15 night transatlantic cruise, Florida to Barcelona Seasoned cruisers with 34 cruises under our belt. Summary: This ship offers Haven suites in the back of the ship. They were NOT worth the extra $3,000 we spent on them. I DO NOT recommend these rear facing Haven suites. This is a designer suite that probably won ...

The major issues I will address are 3 areas: 1. Pool and Children Access 2. Lounge Chair Availability 3. Staff and Service 1.Having a child under the age of 5 was problematic on this boat. If you wanted to watch them in the splash area of the pool deck you had no where to sit and were isolated from the rest of the world. There were no lounge chairs in this area and it was cramped. ...

Beware of short falls on the Norwegian cruises

We have ever done a transatlantic cruise before and thought it might be a good thing to try I suggest that no one should book a cruise out of Cape Canaveral. We had to queue first for an hour at the car park/drop off, just to get on the shuttle bus to the boat. We then had to queue for almost two hours in direct sunshine and heat (all of this standing up). The ship gave no indication of why this ...

just done transatlantic on Queen Elizabeth, first time on Cunard bought new suit and my wife bought new evening wear, we needn't have bothered people where dressed in all sorts, even saw one man go in to restaurant in jeans (not a formal night) we had afternoon tea, was poor a waiter arrived with a serving dish that only had 3 sandwich"s on it , never got offered a cake, did get a scone but ...

Disappointed in our T/A

No white glove welcome at Southampton. A junior rating called out welcome and that was that - find your own way. After 4 hour wait for our one piece of luggage I went to hunt it down - cabin stewardess said she would find it for us - that did not and was not going to happen - finally tracked it down behind the door where the luggage arrives at the deck. Food better than we expected but ...

The food was great! Not the kind of food that you have to have alot of. The smell, visual and taste was enough to satisfy. There was no expensive "umbrella drink" hard sales, or casino (which was good). We were surprised that our lecture speakers were all old, white men (5 of them). Is there no woman that has something interesting to speak about to (dare I say...) a ship full of women???? My ...

FOOD AND SMOKING ONLY BUGABOOS

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We chose this cruise to avoid having to fly to Florida to embark. The staff was fantastic, our steward was great. Our stateroom immaculate and sooo nice. We loved it. The food was okay--looked better than it tasted. Overall, fairly average. Not bad, just not anything amazing. We were also VERY put off by the amount of area devoted to smokers. Half of the pool deck was a smoking area which ...

Travelled to Bermuda from Norfolk two years ago with Carnival. Many extended families, seemingly with navy affiltiation of some sort were on that 7-day cruise. In 2017, Norfolk not available for a 7 day, so chose to debark from Baltimore to take advantage of a full 7 day cruise, allowing for more time in Bermuda. This time, we saw mostly just small groups or couples. We read Pride has a ...
