Cute little town. The Viking Village is interesting. Tvinde Waterfall was beautiful. It's a big waterfall. The panoramic Stegastein view was amazing. The bus ride up the troll road was a little nerve-breaking though but worth the trip. ...
Flam is a lovely little stopping point. The views are fab and there are nice shops and cafes around it. There are numerous holiday chalets about and I can see why. It would be a great place to spend a few days walking and cycling.
We bought tickets for the railway and enjoyed it. The train is busy but everyone gets a seat and you are given 2 x 10 minutes stops at the waterfall for a leg stretch ...
This town seemed much more of a tourist trap but had some good history to see - the rail museum was great, as were the pastries from café at the port. We did the local street train which took us around Flam - the old town was very pretty. ...
heard alot about the Flam railway, so paid over 300 pounds for my wife and myself, avoid this any time during peak season, trains where packed so did not really enjoy ride or views, when train stopped for people to photograph waterfalls, there was very little time and the crowd was 20 deep, trip was run on a tight schedule, so no time to really enjoy it. ...

Some of the views were not great, particularly if you were on the wrong side of the train. Nice stop at a hotel with good waffles and jelly. ...
Flam is beautiful! We did the train ride and we had just a great day here. The train took us to Vos where we had a delicious lunch and time to walk about town. A darling place. ...
If you go to Flam and want to go on the train do it independently it's much cheaper and nicer as you're not cramped, we had the carriage to ourselves, Also the viewpoint is easy to book yourself in the train ticket office, we did both and saved well over a £100. ...
Nothing to see here but the railway journey out.
Its billed as one of the 10 great railway journeys in the world but the only impressive thing is the waterfall half way up. ...
One of my favourite places! This time a leisurely walk around the area proved to be stunning. The waterfalls, sound of cattle echoing through the mountains and quaint buildings were just a delight. ...
