This cruise was awesome!

We ended our vacation at houseboat Tante Piet in Amsterdam for three nights. Great location and our host was fabulous! Nice to stay with the local folks.

Disembarkation and Embarkation were a breeze!

Cabin Review

Our cabin was 4052 an Oceanview right near the centrum. This is our second time on this ship and I just love the location. We are right there for dinner, entertainment, meeting point and disembarking. When you come back onboard you are on deck 2 so no waiting for the elevators all the time, we used the stairs alot.

Port Reviews

Alesund

In my research I read how Alesund was a walkable place and lots to do to spend your day.

We did not book an excursion here but at the port we hopped on the little tour train and went for a drive for an hour. This took us to Mt Aksla and around town and back to the port. (This was 150 NOK)

We walked around a bit but we really didn't see enough to spend our full day out and about. Wish we would have booked a 3 or 4 hour excursion here.

Geiranger

Wow!! This is the most beautiful place on earth!

We did a ship tour to Herdal Farm, what an enjoyable day we had. I feel like we stepped back in time at the farm. Some 450 head of goats there and some we so friendly. My mom uses a walker and the ground is very lumpy, she managed though. Sampled some pretty tastey goat cheese and I don't even like goat cheese. Bought some for home too! It was a great excursion and the most gorgeous drive.

Hard to believe this will be gone one day soon

Bonus : we saw the Northern lights just great tonight

Flam

Flam is beautiful! We did the train ride and we had just a great day here. The train took us to Vos where we had a delicious lunch and time to walk about town. A darling place.

Olden

This place is adorable. We had nothing pre booked here but there were tours at the pier. We paid 300 NOK for a tour each and used cash. Keep in mind, they will wait for you if you want to go the the building right there and pay with your credit card. We should have done that.

Great little tour though, we really enjoyed it. It takes you out in the countryside and the scenery looks like a painting! Enjoyed a nice walk in town after. Enjoyed a cold beer at the cafe beside the ship.

Love Olden

Amsterdam

We stayed at the Ibis beside the train station for one night pre cruise. This was an excellent location for getting around Old town and we walked to the port the next day. Very convenient.

When we arrived back into port at the end of the cruise we rented a houseboat from airbnb. This place is close to the port. Very walkable to the houseboat and then walkable into Old town.

Come out of the port, look left...see the lights, go to them and cross the street. Go straight and then first right. There she is! Houseboat Tante Piet. Sieske is a cute darling lady who is as accomodating as you can possibly get. She lives in 60 percent and guests the other 40. Plenty large enough, my husband and on one side and my mom on the other. Shared but private for all. Great place, great host!

We did a bus trip to Zaan Schaans and Geithoorn, full day tour and just awesome. Both places are a must see and it was nice to get out of the busy city for the day.
