This was an odd combination of walking and tour bus ride. Especially glad we got to see a neighborhood artists studio that was doing art therapy with disadvantaged children as well as producing block print items.

Good bus tour about town. They took us to a choir singing which ran a liitle long. We walked back to the boat as the tour wanted to return us to the boat too early.

I am so glad we got to spend some time in Cienfuegos because it is not only a UNESCO World site in Cuba with unique French influences, it has a wonderful Botanical Garden, a fascinating graveyard (La Reina), and is only about an hour from Trinidad, another well-preserved colonial town that has delightful restaurants, lovely cotton tatted cloths, and opportunities for great street photography. This city provided one of the highlights: Orquesta de Camara Concerto Sur-- A Chamber Music group of 8 musicians who were absolutely fabulous. Others on tour felt the same way. Hopefully, their future includes tours to other countries because the passion and skill in their music is amazing. Lots of other cultural treats made the visit interesting. Architecture; works of art for sale from street vendors; historical locations; former mansions built by pre- revolution casino owners or oligarchs. Cuba has an interesting history! Read Less

It was so much fun dancing in the street with the performers. Also the social consciousness and good works going on there was great. I also enjoyed seeing the general downtown area to see it how the "locals" do.

Cienfuegos looks to be a resort town that has seen better days. We were given a bit of a rather worthless song-and-dance about the government-provided pharmacy, food markets, dry goods, etc. We were again treated to a pleasant town square (which would be a good place to purchase cigars and rum, had I waited). We also were shown a city theater building for what seemed like no reason. Must Sees: We were driven out to see a restaurant called palacio del valle that was picturesque. Finally, we hit 3 artistic spots, two of them that are worthy of leaving some money at...the most salient being the Graphical Society of Cienfuegos (works with down's syndrome artists). Also, of the ports, this seemed to be the best to purchase rum and cigars. Read Less

This was a very interesting port and not quite as poverty stricken as Havana. We saw a local choir group who were quite good and had lunch at a nice restaurant overlooking the water.

The tour in general was good but they took us to a location for an hour where we had to watch young people dance amateur Cuban dancing that wasn't good and dragged out.
