Honest Review of MSC Divina
First let me say when I review the MSC Divina I do it based on the experiences I have at with NCL (1), Royal Caribbean (1), and Carnival (5). This is my first MSC cruise. Before I get started, I want to say the service was by far the best I have ever had. But there were some things that could be improved as well. I’ll break them down by category and then PRO’s ...
Where to start...
From Day 1, we arrived after flying across the Atlantic only to discover that "One of our engines is broken, so we have canceled the stop in France. Not to worry, we are still seaworthy..." Options for remedy were: 1. Take a credit of $100 person / 2. Rebook at a later date. / 3. Get a full refund. (MAN DO WE WISH WE HAD PICKED THAT OPTION!!!!) We later discovered that ...
We booked a cruise through Avoya Travel on the "MSC Seaside", departing Marseille on June 3rd, 2022. On our arrival in Marseille on June 1st, Avoya Travel emailed me to inform us that our cruise had been cancelled! We had to decide within a few hours whether to accept a booking on another cruise, with a different itinerary on the "MSC Seaview", departing a day later, or take a full refund. We ...
The food was beyond AWFUL - by far the worst on any cruise I’ve ever been on. There was very little choice on the menus compared to Princess cruises which we are used to. MSC need to up their game big time. The food in the MDR’s was lukewarm and just slapped on the plate. There was no attempt at presentation whatsoever. We felt like we were eating in a canteen.
I woke up plastered in bed bug ...
We were on the MSC Vistuosa in June 2021 and stayed in a Grand Suite, the suite was enormous. We had a lounge with a glass topped table and 6 high backed dining chairs, a walk in dressing room, separate bedroom with great cupboards and an enormous 20+ metre long balcony, with a private whirlpool.
For our wedding anniversary in June 2022, we had booked to cruise on the Magnifica, in a similar ...
Nearly didn’t book this cruise due to the flurry of negative reviews but we’re glad we did. Quick summary… lovely new & modern ship. Is the food as good as Celebrity or NCL? No… but it was still decent and we always found something to eat. Was the service as slick as Celebrity/NCL? No… but the crew were all lovely if a little disorganised in the MDR. Was the entertainment as good as NCL or RCL? ...
This is a beautiful ship. We had 12291, which is a room on the back of the ship (balcony extended) overlooking the adults only pool. We had a pretty good overall experience, we were supposed to be on Carnival Freedom but it had a fire and was cancelled and we scrambled and got on this MSC ship. The staff is absolutely amazing. The Aurea level is worth the drink package and thermal spa (loved their ...
First of all we had to wait in line for more than 3 hours to onboard the cruise ship despite arriving in port at earlier than boarding time and boarding process had already begun.
Secondly, it took us more than 4 hours going up and down between reception and cabins, with 4 cabin changes until we finally get to our cabin. Every time we get to the assigned room we found people already inside, ...
The trip was horrible right from the start. Got into our 1st room at 11 AM, it was assigned to another passenger so we had to pack up our belongings and leave. By the end of it all, we were put into 3 different rooms, one being an interior cabin and we paid for a balcony. I was told that the ship was full, that was the only available room, and no room is ever a guarantee. Absolutely no type of ...
This was our second trip on the virtuosa after sailing on her in July 2021. We have recently returned after a 3 night sailing which unfortunately did not live up to our first experience.
Immediately on check in we knew that this would be a different experience, on our first sailing back in 2021 the ship had 1000 passengers on this sailing we were informed the ship was carrying over 3500 ...
