Not my first cruise but it was my girlfriend’s first sailing. It was in the middle of COVID, so we had to do the 48 hour prior tests and then another test to get on the ship. At check-in, they took the luggage and bused us over to a hotel for mass COVID tests, it was efficient and easy. Once cleared, back on a bus to go thru the process of checking in, which went very well.

This was our first cruise on NCL. There were three other couples in our group. All of us were in the Haven which is the only way to go on a ship like this. Guests in the Haven have a private restaurant, a private pool, reserved seats at the main theater show and other amenities. We chose this cruise because we wanted to see Puerto Rico as well as the Lesser Antilles (Aruba, Curacao, St Lucia..).

This was our 4th NCL cruise, 2nd on Epic. We chose this and booked it barely 10 weeks before sailing (unlike us) because I was becoming a burned-out healthcare worker, and a week opened up for me. Another major factor was that it was home-ported in San Juan, and we'd had a great experience there 5 years ago as well. All the ports of call were new to us.

Our Princess TA from Rome was cancelled. The price and itinerary worked for us so we booked our first NCL cruise. We have been on 38 cruises, mostly Princess tho we have tried Cunard, Disney, MSC, Carnival
