Overall this was a wonderful trip! The Westerdam was a lovely ship and the scenery in Alaska is breathtaking! I can see why many people repeat Alaska many times over. We were also truly impressed with Seattle. Prior to this trip, we had never been further north on the west coast than San Francisco. What a wonderful town Seattle is and it warrants an extra few days if you can spare them.

What a great Alaskan cruise on the Westerdam!!! We flew into Seattle and sailed on to Alaska! Embarking the ship was so smooth and fast! The luggage was at our cabin door before we were! The ship is great! Meals were great! The waitstaff is awesome!

Very disappointing onboard. Would definitely not recommend HAL. Everything was below average in terms of quality of service, food and especially lack of concern or caring by anyone in the "front office." If you have a problem onboard you are on your own. Just finished a week long Alaskan cruise from Seattle onboard the Westerdam. The ship and service were outstanding. Something we have come to expect from sailing with Holland America.
