I have never been so disappointed on a cruise. I choose this cruise because of the itinerary because it had 3 nights in St. Petersburg, Russia. The ship is well worn. It really needs to be refurbished. It was the smallest balcony cabin I have ever seen. The beds were like sleeping on a rock, because there are no box springs, the bed sits on a metal platform. Every couple of days, the water, ...
This should have been the cruise of a life time - visiting Scandinavia, Russia and the Baltic states. Instead, it was an average cruise with reasonable on board comforts and good food BUT a shore excursion department probably controlled by faceless folk at head office that ruined the experience. It all went down hill before the cruise left port. Having unfortunately been robbed on the Paris ...
Choose this sailing because of the ports and the 3 day stay in St Petersberg! The cruise ran smoothly and Royal Carribean had the embankment and Disembarkment down to a science. Ran very organized without and real waiting time. The staff was friendly and was very accommodating! Food was good and entertainment was enjoyable. This cruise was so port intensive that after all the excursions ...
We cruise on the average of twice a year, usually on Royal Caribbean. The staff on this cruise was one of the most dedicated and friendly of any in recent years. Our cabin attendant, Ernesto, our wait staff in the MDR and the Windjammer, and all of the bartenders were terrific.
We did not do much of the entertainment except for the daily Trivia contests. The activity staff was great, ...
Royal Caribbean was so disappointing this time around. The staff did not seem sympathetic to our plight of lost luggage, and assured us that we would be able to shop for clothes on our excursions. We were not able to shop for any essentials on our excursions as we only went to souvenir shops. I suggested that Royal help us find a way to get to shopping and they did not. All they were able to ...
Having cruised on Azamara and Celebrity previously, we chose this cruise because of its 7 day itinerary.
The Pros:
Embarkation and debarkation were very smooth.
Our cabin attendant was great.
First night's dinner in the MDR was very good.
The bartenders, particularly those at the 4th floor bar, were terrific
Breakfast at the MDR was excellent.
Dinners at Chops and Izumi were ...
Prior to leaving the United States, we booked a private 2-day tour of St. Petersburg with TJ Travel and had a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience!! We had no problem quickly disembarking, our tour guide and driver awaiting our arrival. We were able to see what WE wanted to see and spend extra time in those places that we most highly valued. Our guide Natalya was absolutely amazing with the ...
Great trip and entertainment on board, we had a balcony stateroom on deck 9 which was clean and spacious enough for a ship but a little dated. Beds were comfortable and Balcony while furniture while dated was adequate for our needs. Our room was situated half way down the corridor which was perfect location as away from noise and elevators which I was glad as if you were close to either you would ...
It was a high school reunion after 40 years. A friend from minnesota, who is an experienced cruiser, recommended the cruise line and the route.
WE HAD AN AMAZING TIME
8 girl friends. All in our sixties..
We loved the ports.. ESPECIALLY STOCKHOLM, ST PETERSBURG AND TALLIN
THE CREW WAS AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY
The food was just about average.. NOT EXCELLENT IN ANY OF THE RESTAURANTS
THE ...
We chose RCCL Serenade of Seas due to the itinerary in the Baltic and St Petersburg. In our case we picked our general travel period, ports and then cruise line. I spent probably 40 hours total reading and researching every review I could find on who to spend the $$$ with as Scandinavia/Russia are not inexpensive places to visit. We decided on a suite,(GS Category) cabin #1052 with concierge ...
