Short But Sweet

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Island Princess

This was our first time taking a short cruise (4 days), to our surprise, it felt like a 2 week cruise. Perhaps the short time forces us to enjoy every minute of it, and we really did. The short cruise eliminated the formal nights which was great because it had meant less things to pack, less things to change, less time spent getting ready to eat. I've been to many cruises, but this was the ...

I wrote how great the shore excursion in Victoria at Craigdarroach Castle was, how we'd done Butchart x2, how great the food at Horizon Court was, how we seldom got to restuarants even tho so pretty cuz loved buffet so much! The sea was rockier than expected so didn't get much sleep, glad of entertainment. Best was Amethyst Trio wAlex & 2 violinists, wowza! Staff was great, esp Leo our ...

Fast quick instead of going to Las Vegas, NV.

It was a quick fast cruise. Very relaxing. Embarkation was very quick and slick. I was surprised about the extra $10.00 in the Bayou Café for Lobster. On the Ruby Princess, in the first week of October of 2017 I paid only $5.00 extra. So I dined there twice. Norman our room steward did a great job. We only saw him twice during the whole trip. However he took care of all our requests. We ...

Just returned from a cruise to and through the Panama Canal. We, happily, are Platinum Passengers with Princess, so boarding, and disembarking went very smoothly. Our cabin was ready when we boarded, that was grand too. We generally unpack, then take a walking tour around the ship, and familiarize ourselves with it. Did the same with this cruise. The cabin was small, not a big surprise, ...

Well I think they did a nice job for the most part on this sailing ,The company was forced to exchange Ensinada mexico for Nicaragua due to election violence, but its hard to blame them for wanting to keep us safe . I had better food on cruises and the buffet wasnt very good but we never eat there much so no great loss . This cruise had more single acts than production shows and Im prefer ...

Panama Canal Cruise Exceeded Expectations (19 days roundtrip from LA)

Overall fantastic experience. During sea days we enjoyed Zumba by the outdoor pool, ping pong in the Lotus courtyard, laps around the Promenade and upper decks (can make a full circuit on Promenade via brief indoor corridor), reading books from the ship's library, gym, games during Teen Center open house hours, and some organized events. We saw dolphins and sea turtles from the ship. For most of ...

A Relaxing Panama Canal Cruise and Experience

We chose this cruise because of the round trip from LA, plus the interesting ports we hadn't been to before. The Island Princess is older and the cabins are smaller than on other ships, but the service was excellent all the way around. The weather was perfect, so the pool areas were one of our favorite spots during the day. Live music, concerts on the jumbo screen and plenty of activities on ...

Excellent cruise with changes

Cruised with 2 other best friend couples. Itinerary of Ports changed as Nicaragua had protests. Ensenada, MX was replacement port. Island Princess current layout with no aft night club/lounge makes not enough venues for public gatherings/activities. Cruise staff were friendly and available for Q&A. Carpet bowling was a big success 25 to 28 participants. Lecturer Bob Perlow "Warm up Guy" was ...

this is the longest cruise we have ever done. We have taken 10 previous cruises on Princess, and we really love their service The only thing I miss about this ship is the lack of the 24 hour international cafe. We had been on this ship a few years ago but the Vista lounge was removed and replaced with cabins. This did not deter our enjoyment of the ship. The cabins are standard and we ...

Who chose this cruise as it was easy for us to get to LA from Honolulu. We have already done a Ocean to Ocean transit and wanted to try this cruise. We had been on the Island Princess prior to her retro fit. We chose cabin C731, the last mini suite on the Caribe deck. We looked forward to the sea days as those are our favorite. The cabin we chose has been reviewed as a "noisy" cabin and we ...
