We chose this cruise because of the round trip from LA, plus the interesting ports we hadn't been to before. The Island Princess is older and the cabins are smaller than on other ships, but the service was excellent all the way around. The weather was perfect, so the pool areas were one of our favorite spots during the day. Live music, concerts on the jumbo screen and plenty of activities on deck made the outdoors inviting. Lots of sea days for R & R, which we appreciated. This was out 36 wedding anniversary which we will never forget. Many super seniors on this cruise as well as seasoned cruisers. Disappointed that there were only 3 productions shows considering it was a 19 day cruise, but all in all, we had a wonderful vacation, Would recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing, uncrowded environment to transit the Panama Canal. The lectures and enrichment seminars were very interesting.

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Smaller cabin for a mini suite, but ship is narrower as it was built to transit the Canal. Nice size balcony wiht 2 chairs, 2 ottomans and cafe table. Enjoyed the bathtub!
