The ship is a poor uncomfortable noisy ferry.
The cabin (we picked the one with windows and partial view- no other option available) it’s really small. There is a very small closet. The tv shows nothing. The bathroom is so small that you want to shower with open door just to have some air. They clean the cabin daily and they do a good job.
The common area are invaded by backpackers who ...
BEWARE!!!!
My Wife and I went on the Vesteralen I'm not sure if spelling correct but it doesn't matter
it was the worst holiday we have had in our lives and couldn't wait to get of the boat
The officers on board were rude and not customer focused
The accommodation was two bunk beds in a room that could hardly fit two people in it
I had to sleep on the floor as the top bunk made me ...
My land tour was cancelled at the last minute and I had to find an alternative. Hurtigruten was all I could find but it is little more than a passenger ferry and an expensive one at that! I could have bought a new car for what I paid Hurtigruten and they‘nickel and dime’ their passengers for everything from extortionate alcohol prices to expensive bus ride excursions which passengers could do ...
Hurtigruten does not care about its’ customers, this much is clear. It cares only about revenues. It is an arrogant organisation with contempt for the law and those it takes money from.
Let’s be quite direct. This is hosteling at 5* prices and any commitments made by the company are freely discardable at their discretion.
So why have I come to this conclusion following a trip on “The most ...
It was part of our trip to Scandinavia as we are group of 30 people travelling from a European country to explore Scandinavian countries.
Our embarkation was at 0130 am on 28th of February 2022 and we are supposed to reach our destination Svolaraer at 1830 the same day. What is more they have asked us to empty the rooms from 1330!!! although we are going to reach our destination at 18 ...
We had chosen this cruise to be able to experience the coast of Norway and sample Norwegian specialities. The cruise delivered on the former but not the latter.
Restaurant are in urgent need of training to be customer oriented, and acted like they were doing passengers a favour by being there. Although there was an effort to accommodate the food restrictions of some of the passengers in our ...
Classic ship on iconic route - what could be better? A lot, as it turns out: The route does not offer much fjord experience, mostly you trundle coast-wise behind the outlying islands. Most places the time in port is too short for sightseeing. Once in open seas, this little ships rocks. And rolls. Keep your seasickness pills handy. The company has a museum at its place of origin. Don't expect to ...
The MS Lofoten crew were brilliantly friendly and helpful and several passengers were so fond of the ship and crew that they were on a repeat voyage. Unfortunately, I was not to become so endeared to the ship.
MS Lofoten is a 55 year old Ferry. It was designed as a Ferry. It was built as a Ferry. It is operated as a Ferry. Many people (and cargo) use it as a Ferry. It is not a “cruise” ship. ...
We were travelling from Alesund to Bergen. It cost 337 Gbp for my girlfriend and I, so very expensive and our hopes were high. There was very little information before the trip, then no one to meet us at the terminal, everyone just had to work it our for themselves. The cabin was tiny, barely room for us and our bags once the beds were folded out. We couldn't move past each other. It was extremely ...
The ship is less than basic as it is a ferry and working ship, but that is no excuse for sacrificing passenger facilities leaving repairs (our wardrobe door was coming off its hinges, the ladies sauna out of action and much else) unattended to over a near 2 week trip.
They charge for everything including tea and coffee except at lmeal times and it is not cheap even though it is poor quality ...
