Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Loved everything except being away from home for Christmas. New Year's was our best ever. Met wonderful people. Loved the ship. This itinerary was always on our bucket list and it was a wonderful time of year to take the trip - except for missing Christmas at home. We were with another couple and we did manage to celebrate Christmas Day almost as we would have at home - we brought ...

Great ship, disappointing food, underwhelming scenic experience

This was our 3rd cruise; the previous cruises were with Oceania and Seabourn on much smaller ships and apparently in a higher class of luxury. We had never been to South America before and were hoping for some spectacular scenery. We were disappointed. The itinerary featured a cruise through the Beagle Channel to Ushaia and later through the Straits of Magellan on the 500th anniversary of ...

The ship is beautiful, itinerary great, food & entertainment disappointing.

We chose this cruise for the itinerary, which was Argentina, Uruguay and Chile, including sailing around Cape Horn and Straits of Magellan. It was a 14-night cruise. The Eclipse is a beautiful ship that is elegantly furnished. The staff provided outstanding service, especially our room attendant and wait staff in the main dining room. We were really disappointed in the quality of the ...

Most expensive cruise we have done and the worst!

We chose this cruise, our 11th with Celebrity, because we had never visited South America and it seemed a good opportunity to visit three countries. We had previously booked the Rio Carnival cruise for the previous year, but postponed it for personal reasons. We changed to this cruise because it was slightly longer being 14 days rather than 10, it was a terribly long way to fly and so we wanted ...

We spent 31 days going around Sout America and the ship and staff were outstanding. The Antartic ocean was very cold and we did not take enough warm cloths. Birds and animals were outstanding. Met some super friends. The entertainment on the ship was a let down. Haw many times can one sit and watch the ship dancers. They need more professional entertainers. The meals were excellent. ...

My wife and I have become fans of Celebrity and Royal Caribbean for quite some time. >The service is excellent!! The staff on the ship are friendly and very helpful. My wife has a hard time getting around, the excursion team did an excellent job of helping us get to the excursions buses. Our dining room staff couldn't be anymore helpful. >Food is excellent, in all restaurants, buffet, ...

Some Good and Bad aspects of this cruise

Firstly, we are not cruisers and chose this cruise because we wanted to visit South America for the first time. On immediate embarkation we were met with a fairly hard sell with regard to drink and dining packages. A lot of people had been travelling for 20 + hours and we questioned whether this was really necessary at that time. It just seemed a money making exercise. Surely, it might be ...

Carnival in Rio Cruise!

Couldn’t pass up this amazing deal to do an 11-day balcony cruise to 3 countries in South America, including 3 days at Carnival in Rio, for only about $950! The Eclipse was recently remodeled, and the rooms and public spaces are beautiful. We’ve done 45 cruises and Guiseppi, at only 26 years old was probably the best cruise director we’ve ever had. He really was made for this job. The ...

Spectacular Carnival Cruise!

On this cruise, Celebrity got the formula exactly right. Great ports, great food, great accommodations, excellent service and spectacular entertainment! What more could you ask for! This was by far the best cruise we’ve ever taken. We’ve sailed with Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity in the past and although each cruise has it’s positive and negative points, we’ve found Celebrity to be the ...

One of our best cruises ever. We have been on 4 cruises with Celebrity, twice on Reflection and now twice on Eclipse. ANd this cruise was just amazing. The ship was perfect, the crew fantastic, great entertainment and from the top (Captain Leo and CD Gioseppe) to our cabin attendant etc. was top top noch. Food was great in Luminae and BLU and spec. restaurants. To all the hardworking people in ...
