My husband has never been a cruising enthusiast, but this itinerary was appealing. This was our first Viking cruise, and we had such a marvelous time. The staff was top notch, the food superb, the ship lovely and quiet. Everything was to our liking, and we have now booked another Viking cruise! My husband said the experience was like being in a 5 star hotel that sailed you to your various ...
I have long wanted to visit Iceland. The itinerary was outstanding. Captain Olav was very accessible and friendly. Having sailed with Viking, I had very high expectations and encouraged another couple to cruise with me. Having high expectations, Viking did not exceed my expectations. The dining offerings were not as superior as my last Viking cruise. Some of the meat was tough and difficult ...
Having cruised with several cruise lines and Viking river cruises, we were attracted to the Viking Ocean Cruise offering. We chose Iceland and Greenland as exotic destinations which we would otherwise never visit.
The cruise itself was excellent, as one would expect from Viking, but it would be fair to say that the Viking river cruises are probable a little ahead in many respects. The ship is ...
We chose to cruise with Viking because friends and relatives had raved about their cruises with the company. It was excellent advice! We decided to go on the Viking Homelands cruise because I had always wanted to visit Scandinavia, and this cruise had shore excursions in Sweden, the Aland Islands of Finland, Denmark, and Norway, so it fit what I was looking for. I could not have been happier that ...
We chose this cruise because it was a 16 day cruise with only 1 full day at sea. There was a wide-range of excursions, however, most of the included ones required very little activity, so we did choose several more active options, bike rides, zodiac boats and hikes. As first time Viking cruisers we were not as prepared as we needed to be for dinners, as you could not wear jeans (not matter how ...
Loved the ship, the itinerary, the staff, the stateroom but did not like the fellow passengers. They were old, rude, selfish, and slow. For the money we paid we should have not felt judged - but since we were one of the youngest couples celebrating our 25 year anniversary- we were given the side eye most of the cruise - we made the most of it but the entertainment and pace and flow of the cruise ...
We've been on cruise hiatus since COVID so were excited to board the new Saturn, our first time with Viking. The ship and the food exceeded our expectations.
Saturn is sleek, smooth and serene, beautifully designed for peaceful enjoyment, with numerous sitting areas inviting you to relax. The center pool, wintergarden, spa and Explorer’s lounge were warm and comfy—though you're a little ...
This was our very first cruise. On the whole it was good, and we plan to sail with Viking again, but there were some hiccups.
About a year before the cruise, they shifted us to a different ship leaving about a week later. And a few months after that, they announced that three of the planned stops had been changed. We were very disappointed to miss Belfast, but Isle of Man was very nice and ...
A great cruise to see the various areas of the British Isles, with Bergen Norway as a bonus. Enjoyed each port which included ones in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England. Starting in Bergen added variety and interest to the cruise. The Mars ship was nice, clean, comfortable, and well laid out. The ship’s stabilizers allow for relatively smooth sailing even in stormy conditions. Crossing the ...
We had been on many Viking River cruises but never on a Viking ocean cruise. We were excited to see Iceland while experiencing a Viking ocean cruise for the first time. We found that the included excursions were very basic (e.g., walk around a small Iceland town of 700 people). The excursions that were not complimentary were very pricy, far exceeding what we experienced on Viking river cruises. ...
