Oceania guest relations - sharply below expectations
"A frantic call to my travel agent finally cleared it up: NO, not Fusina: Check-in point is still Venice Cruise Terminal, and guests to be bused from there by the cruise line to Fusina, and yes, I should have paid attention to this one message which was buried in an email sent by Oceania and to me a week prior to sailing. An email to my Oceania contact at guest relations in Miami got better results: He confirmed right away that ‘embarkation and check-in point’ was indeed Fusina as stated on the boarding pass...."Read More

Oceania guest relations - sharply below expectations

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Sirena

Anyone who comes to this site will naturally look at the overall rating and number of awards received by Oceania and its ships first. Beware: A little bit of investigation will show you that the awards and most of the positive reviews are all from results prior to 2018. Reviews closer to the present tell a less rosy story. Our recent experience with Oceania before and during a Mediterranean cruise ...

Just got back from a 12 day cruise of the Mediterranean. There were 10 of us and my 81 year old mother was with us. She recently was in an accident and walks with a cane/walker. We rented a scooter on board which was helpful. However, I feel the ship, let her down on several occasions, which led to her overall experience being subpar. First, in Venice, there was no one to help her from the dock to ...

We chose this cruise due to the itinerary since it focused heavily on Italy’s west and east coast. We had cruised Oceania three years ago seeing the Mediterranean. The Sirena was still fresh and beautiful from her refit in May. Love the new decor in the staterooms. We had a concierge balcony which was a guarantee. Oceania was oversold on this cruise and offered us an upgrade to a penthouse ...

We sailed on Sirena May 29, 2019 out of Venice. Although Sirena did an overnight in Venice, our flight didn't arrive until late afternoon. I used Oceania for my air. They booked us through Copenhagen from Boston with a five hour wait for our flight to Venice. The next day the ship departed at 3:00pm. Useless port unless you arrive at least a day early. The ship just finished a total ...

So many issues, where do I begin!!!!!!!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Sirena

My room was in bad need of repairs, which should have been done, before I stepped aboard. I had to spend the first 3 days, asking for repairs. This was a concierge room. The lunch was only open until 2pm, and if you left to go ashore , you returned to only a grill by the pool. Food should be supplied to everyone especially lunch on a fancy cruise. the ice cream closed at 4pm for the day. ...

Recently refurbished ship, loved the ports, cuisine quality was inconsistent

Ports: We chose this cruise mainly for the ports... and they were beautiful. For Santorini, 5 ships were there, was really crowded, and long wait to come back down on the cable car. Otherwise, we had great weather and enjoyed the cruise. Ship: Just remodeled in Marseilles France May 2019 so looked great. The decor has all been upgraded, all new cabins, and mostly new public spaces. The ship ...

We have sailed with the line before and the overall experience is on a downward slope. We sailed from Vienna to Lisbon, departing in late May. The ship had come out of dry dock a couple of weeks earlier, which may account for some of the issues. It is a smaller ship, and the cabins were fully occupied. On the plus side the crew were without fail helpful, friendly and when you could get their ...

Very Good, but ...

This was our third Oceania cruise, and although we rated this “very good”, we did pass along to Oceania several criticisms, which we hope will be considered “constructive”. The good – Sirena is nicely restored, well maintained and the staff is very good. There were some instances of poor service, but these are rare. The not good - bathrooms in cabins below penthouse level are too ...

11 Days Between Venice and Barcelona

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Sirena

We chose this cruise - our 4th on Oceania ships - for the September timing and the itinerary. We explored Venice for a few days prior to embarkation (is there a better port for a sailaway?) and were delighted to combine old favorites (Sorrento, Civitavecchia, Monaco and Barcelona) with new-to-us ports like Kotor, Montenegro, Corfu and Taormina. This was our second cruise on Sirena, and the ...
