Sail Date: May 2019

We have sailed with the line before and the overall experience is on a downward slope. We sailed from Vienna to Lisbon, departing in late May. The ship had come out of dry dock a couple of weeks earlier, which may account for some of the issues. It is a smaller ship, and the cabins were fully occupied. On the plus side the crew were without fail helpful, friendly and when you could get their attention, attentive. The cabin was well kept and the stewards frequently inquired if we had any issues or needed anything. We could get our empty suitcases under the bed, I noted someone else mentioned an issue with this.

We did find the staffing levels seemed inadequate on many occasions. It was difficult to get service in the Terrace Cafe during all meals. On many occasions the grill area was in chaos, unable to keep orders straight, as well as not cooked in the manner requested. I heard several other passengers voice concerns over the level of service. The upside was no matter how busy the servers were they always remained cheerful. The bar staff in Martini's was also unable to keep up with the flow of people, with slow service experienced throughout the cruise, even though we did raise the issue more than once with hotel managers. I speculated that as they now sell so many drink packages they cut back on bar staff because it's not as much a revenue stream.

There are only two specialty restaurants (vs. four on the larger ships). Service in those was very good, as was the service in the main dining room.
