This was our first cruise with Oceania and a small ship. It was great we could stop at places that larger ships do not visit.

When arriving at the terminal in Sydney it was just under 30deg.C and we couldn't believe the length of the queue. Once inside the terminal (and in the shade), we were faced with further massive queues. Eventually collected our medallions and were ready to join another massive queue.

My wife and I and another couple who joined us, had New Zealand on our bucket list and found the cruise itinerary to be very interesting. Here is a brief trip report on a cruise we did from Australia to New Zealand, which may help anyone planning similar. We went on the Royal Princess, out of Sydney (December, 2023). As an elite member I have never been so disappointed.
The food was awful. One day I was almost in tears because of the menu on the buffet, being gluten free I had very little options. I understand the MDR is much better option but if order a meal the day before sometimes I just don't get there.
