After cruising for many years with Princess my partner and I were disappointed with the lay out of this ship, their seemed to be not enough staff for the amount of passengers on board, most places we visited on board did not have enough seating, the ship was designed the Chinees market and it shows with the conversions of the public such as the vista lounge once part of the casino and another now ...
The cruise was very disappointing. The entertainment was directed at the older passengers and nothing really available if under 60.
No theme night, no white wine onboard as the ship is heading to Asia so they used what was onboard.
Outbreak of respiratory condition onboard no extra precautions brought out until the last afternoon when it was too late.
Toilet blocked in cabin x 5 ...
There is a bit to like on the Majestic. Being fairly new it is quite tidy and presents reasonably well on board. There are quite a few good spaces on board, a bit of flair here and there, but overall with 3,500 to 4,000 passengers on board its all a bit of a mess. And from the exterior “the ship” is as ugly as sin. An ugly floating appartment block. The root of the evil is the Princess business ...
We booked 2 years ago and have been used to the Diamond and Golden Princess size ships. We didn't find it too big to walk around but we felt that the public rooms had been enlarged a little but too many people crowded into them causing congestion and a lot of noise. The practice of using the Piazza for activities such as Line Dancing classes instead of the Vista Lounge was a bad move. Most people ...
Take a lot of money. Yes, its expensive in Australia, but the expenses on the ship keep on mounting. A glass of wine $14.00.Cosmopolitan $16.00. They have taken away the 2 for 1 cocktail hour. The cost of the shore excursions is just plain ridiculous. Two ports we were in, we had to pay for a shuttle to town.
We used to get a coupon book that at least had a few coupons we could use, ...
Timing as the Cruise was over the new year and also location the ship was traveling were the important issues.
Traveled on the other cruise ships during the new year eve time frame and it was very nice. This trip seemed to be smaller in activity scale when compared to other cruise trips
Limited activities - Started a golf activity that was to continue - dropped without notification, no word, ...
I have never cruised before so I really did not know what to expect. But I must say I was bitterly disappointed. The entertainment I feel was really for people in walkers. It was the battle of the walking frames and go go mobiles.
Staff were fantastic, cabin was lovely. I probably would not recommend this cruise to anyone under the age of 80.
The maintenance of this ship was a joke. Every ...
Having sailed with Princess on other occasions, we found them to be all that we expected. As soon as we heard the brand new Majestic Princess was coming to Australia, we immediately booked to go on the first cruise out of Sydney.
In a nutshell the ship is big, new and shiny. The crew are fantastic, food in the Buffet ( they call it the Market Place) was okay, but we have had better on other ...
We are not new to cruising. We were travelling with two other couples from previous cruises. Stunningly large ship doesn’t always mean a great ship. Cruise was great ship less than good. We experienced a lot of negatives such as. Not enough pools, unsupervised Hollywood Observatory adults only pool and someone took their grandchild in who defacated in the pool meaning the closure of pool for 2 ...
