We are frequent cruisers but had not cruised on NCL for 10 years. This cruise on the Sun was a very pleasant surprise. The ship is in great shape - all the money spent in renovations during dry dock really shows! The food was very good in all the venues we tried. The food and service was excellent in the Seven Seas MDR. Norwegian is a much more relaxed "freestyle" experience and we enjoyed that after cruising on other lines not quite so relaxed. There were many, many activities available during the day and night with a good amount of live music around the pool, in the atrium, in the Bliss Lounge and sometimes in the Spinnaker Lounge on deck 12. My husband and I are dancers - social ballroom, country and western, Carolina Shag - and none of the venues had great dance floors. The production shows were good. The performers were very young with LOTS of energy in their routines! The comedian and magician were pretty bad. The two ports - Costa Maya and Cozumel were enjoyable and the weather was great with temperatures in the low 80s. We had a little rain one day, but other than that, it was a great January cruise. Our cabin was a mini-suite on the 8th floor. The room was great and had been updated during the dry dock. The balcony was a large aft balcony with a nice view of the ship's wake. One negative note - the aft rooms on the 8th deck are over the theater so there's noise during the shows and when they are practicing during the day. Port Canaveral is a very nice little port. People are more friendly and you don't have all the rush and stress of a large port like Port Everglades. I would definitely take this cruise again! Read Less

Fantastic service, food and room was plenty spacious for my husband’s scooter. Fully handicapped accessible. Well laid out. Tons of storage space throughout closet and vanity. Nice living room area away from the bed with comfortable sofa and chair seating with a sturdy table. Room close to elevators. Room steward decorated for my birthday and the front desk provided a voucher for a free cake. Took it to the dining room and they allowed us to take it to the cabin after dinner that night. The shows were well done. Pool service stewards were friendly, attentive and courteous. Many activities options-not bombarded constantly with boring art auctions. Cruise Director Lutz has the perfect personality for her job. She is friendly outside of her “stage” performance and announcements. She was enthusiastic about her job. Thank you! Two afternoon movies were shown and a couple of late night movies between the Bliss lounge and Stardust Theater. Ship was well decorated and maintained. Very clean. This was our second trip on this ship and we’ve had a great experience both times! Read Less

This was our first time cruising, so we researched several cruise lines and cruises destinations. We decided on Norwegian because it suited our style and price the best. We heard so many good things about Norwegian from friends as well! I can say we were not disappointed! We used GoPort from our hotel to the ship terminal. Door to door was easy and worry free trying to find the right terminal and parking. From beginning to end Norwegian staff was attentive and gracious. The excursions we took in Key West and Nassau were great plus getting on and off the ship was stress free. Seven Seas restaurant was our favorite dining place all the way around! I think our choice of a balcony cabin was the best choice for my husband and me. We regularly sat on the balcony enjoying the blue ocean and stars. We are already planning another Norwegian cruise. Next up The British Isles! Read Less

We chose this cruise for a family vacation and it did not disappoint! What an amazing ship and the staff was wonderful. It never felt overly crowded and we hardly ever had to wait in lines except for my time dining and that was not bad at all. We had 7:45pm reservations every night and we waited maybe 15 to 20 mins tops. We sailed from Port Canaveral. Embarkation and Disembarkation were a breeze! We drove and tipped a porter on the sidewalk to take our bags. We then practically walked right onto the ship with no lines or problems whatsoever! The ship was amazing. It was so clean and there was plenty to do as far as entertainment and activities. We did see Grease and the Fine Line Aqua show. Both were wonderful although Grease was a bit long. My only complaint is that they charged for popcorn for the show. I thought that was a bit cheap but the entertainment was excellent. We also caught the Love and Marriage show, which was quite funny and a couple of pool contests like sexy man and belly flop. These are always fun and entertaining. Our children are 18 and 20 so we really enjoyed the solarium in the late afternoons. It would have been nice to have a pool in the solarium but the hot tubs were wonderful and plentiful with cooling stations. There always seemed to be plenty of pool chairs and we never felt like the ship was over the top crowded. For dining, we did the my time dining because there were no reservations left. This was our first time doing that. It was nice to be able to go whenever if we didn’t show up right on time for our reservation but we missed not getting to know a specific group of servers. We had a different set of servers every night. The service was good but not as good as what we have experienced when we had regular times and the same set of servers. We did not choose any specialty dining as we have done this on past cruises and do not find the food to be that much better. The windjammer was the best windjammer we have eaten at so far with a large variety of quality good food available. The solarium restaurant had a nice salad bar. The park cafe had a wonderful selection of paninis for lunch and breakfast. Sorrentos Pizza was good. There was always a nice selection of pizza. Small bites was the only place to get chips and cheese unless you pay at Sabor, which we did not. They were just ok. We had nice chips and salsa off the boat but it would be nice if they would bring this back in the windjammer with Guacomole and some chunk cheese and crackers. We did not get a chance to try the dog house. We did order coffee and basic fruit as room service but the options are limited for breakfast and we enjoyed main dining and park cafe for our breakfast options. Overall the food was very good. The bars were great! We really enjoyed the Mimosas and Bloody Mary bar in the pub. The schooner bar is always a fav and their lavender daquari is amazing! Boleros has a coconut mojito that is wonderful. Wonderland is fun to pop into for a nice drink and to check out the scenery. Vintages had a nice wine selection. All the pool bars were great with very little wait time and the solarium was the best. All staff were polite and quick. The customer service on this ship is top notch! Our cabin was on the 7th floor. We had an extended balcony. It was wonderful. The rooms on this ship are laid out so nice with lots of storage space and drawers for clothes. We each had our own closet on either side of the room. The bathroom was roomier than any of the other royal ships we have been on. Our stateroom attendant was our favorite so far. She went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The excursions were great. Coco Cay is wonderful and it is so nice that Royal honors your drink package and food on the island. The lunch was wonderful. We stayed on Chill Island for most of the day and did go to the pool with swim up bar for a bit. It was busy but so fun. We ended up spending $40 on 2 lounge mats for the day for the beach. I’m not sure that was worth it. I noticed some people brought their own small blow up loungers with netting and I would probably pack something easy like that for next time but the loungers were nice. Next we went to Cozumel and ended up booking an excursion at Mr. Sanchos all Inclusive. It was awesome and we cant wait to go back. I reviewed that on Trip Advisor and that is where I found them. Next, we went to Honduras. I booked Little French Key all island access pass. This was amazing!!! I booked directly online and have also reviewed them on Trip Advisor as this is where I found this excursion. Last we went to Costa Maya. We just got off the ship and shopped around the port. It was a lot of aggressive vendors on the inside that were willing to cut the prices if you started to walk away and a lot of expensive vendors in stores surrounding this. I probably would not get off the ship next time. They did have a pool and swim up bar people seemed to be enjoying. Overall this is our 7th cruise and the best yet! We would love to go back on Harmony of the Seas! Read Less

We chose this cruise because we love the Oasis class ships and had been on Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas the two previous years. While they are all very similar, each has their different nuances. We have been on 12 cruises ( 8 with Royal Caribbean ) and this was by far absolutely the quickest embarkation ever. I can't say enough good things about it. I had coffee one morning with a guy that had been on over 70 cruises ( not a travel agent ) and he confirmed what I already knew, Royal Caribbean all the way. They have the embarkation down to a science. Another thing I've always liked about Royal Caribbean is they do the muster drill in one of the dining rooms so there is a place to sit as opposed to other lines that have you stand for 30 minutes or more on one of the outside decks. The ship itself was beautiful and well maintained. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely sail on this ship. The only thing I noticed and didn't like was that you could hear the noise inside your cabin from the Boardwalk whereas on the Oasis and Allure, you could not. We also noticed that the closets were configured differently ( which we liked ) and had drawers in them which the other ships did not. The shower was noticeably bigger with a completely closing glass surround. ( again, we liked this ) I don't remember the name of the motel we stayed in ( Titusville )( I think it was a Quality Inn ) but it was a dump and the steakhouse that they were so high on ( on the grounds ) had good food but I don't think they've cleaned their bathrooms in a couple of years. Our room steward Delano was great and very attentive. The entire staff was very friendly. The cabin was always very clean although I wished they had vacuumed a little more. Shore excursions were mediocre at best. Next time, I will not book any shore excursions. Perfect Day at Coco Cay was fabulous. We had a 10 o clock balloon ride booked which they had to cancel due to the wind. ( Royal Caribbean has no control over the weather ) Even though it started off cloudy in Port Canaveral, we had pretty good weather 95% of the time. ( again, Royal has no control over mother nature. ) The new Coco Cay is gorgeous. The entertainment on board was superb. As a guy, I don't normally like musicals but I thoroughly enjoyed Grease. Great production. We traveled with another couple and they enjoyed the cruise as much as we did. The service in the MDR was a little slow but there are 13 complimentary places to eat so this really didn't matter. That's another thing I like about the big ships, variety. Even though it was a large ship, I've been on smaller ships that seemed a lot more crowded. The belly flop contest, worlds sexiest man and women's cannonball contest were hilarious. The second Aqua show was a lot better than the first. Read Less

I agree with several others about what people expect from this cruise.....I just dont think ANY cruise is good for an infant or toddler. My husband and I are in our 60's and love Disney. This was our 1st 7 day cruise and I wish we could of just stayed on it for another week. We have also done 3 day cruises on the Dream. Top notch entertainment and the dining for us was also top notch..Cabanas was ok but still much better than anything on a Carnival Cruise..we had a verandah and so worth it...loved how much room we had in our room. I know we have only done 3 cruises with Disney but I can not find fault with any of them. On this last one our room was next to a family with 3 kids and a baby...the kids screamed and cried the whole time and it sounded like they were playing ball in the room with all the noise...I know kids will be kids, but please teach them to respect others..this is not Disney's fault...our waitstaff David and Marco were fantastic and our stateroom hostess was great too...I do agree concessions for the movies should come with the price. Cuba and Key West ports from Port Canaveral. Very organized embarkation and disembarkation. Loved seeing Havana. We did our own tour witha private tour group and was very interesting and informative. Key West was great to see as well. We did the Trolley Tour through NCL to get an overview of the Key and then after, walked around on our own. We stayed in the Deck 6a cabins and was very quiet and sufficiently spacious and comfortable for 2 people with adequate storage. The staff were particularly attentive. Any issue was addressed immediately and with follow-up. They seemed to go above and beyond to make sure guests were enjoying their cruise. The open bar was great and there was plenty of staff available to serve. We have cruised Royal Carribean, Holland America and Celebrity and I would have to say that the service on the NCL SUN was outstanding. Nicely renovated ship too. The entertainment was also very good. Enjoyed the comedian and the big dance show, karaoke, as well as the numerous musical venues. Overall very pleased!! Read Less

This was so smooth you didn't even know you were in the water on a boat! We loved it. It wasn't too long of a trip. Just the right amount of time. If I were to go again I would go again on Norwegian. The price was low compared to other cruises. I wish we would have gone to their private island instead of the Bahamas. Next time we'll book a different location. We liked it because we didn't need to get dressed up to eat dinner if we didn't feel like it. We could eat any time we wanted to. We were waited on hand and foot even while relaxing in a lounge chair and the tips were added at the end of the trip. I'm sure we'll go again one day!! Read Less

We had been on a prior criuse with NCL to Bermuda. This was so much nicer with great staff and wonderful food. The cabin could have been a little bigger because the space between the bed and counter was very narrow. The balcony was big and had two chairs and a small table. No problem with the shower or toilet area. Really don't understand the people that complained about this. Entertainment was very professional and no problem getting a seat. The food was really good, we did choose the upgraded three dinner package. All the restaurants were top notch. The NCL tour was really good and the tour guide Roseanna was very informative about the history and the countryside. It was better than we expected. The smoking is now confined to a small area which makes for a better experience. The ,transportation to the ship and return was well run. Overall a really nice vacation. Read Less

We had to cancel this cruise in 2018, due to an injury. So we were happy to be able to go on it this year and get to visit some islands we have missed in the past. We had a very quick check in and were on board withing 30 minutes of arriving at the port. Our debarkation was almost quicker. We were off the ship and on the way to I-95 in less than 45 minutes. In the past, we have waited hours, especially in Tampa. Great cruise, weather cooperated. We were in 9283 and had Dedy as our cabin steward. He was attentive, but not overly attentive. Our dining team was led by Gary. He was fantastic and made sure my gluten allergy was taken care of in the kitchen. We had our dinners in the Sapphire (lower level) and our breakfast in Blush (lower level). Lunch was mostly Guys Burger Joint and also Guys Pig and Anchor. Fairly decent BBQ, though I never saw any smokers going. So, wonder if it was done off the ship and reheated with sauce. We were entertained a lot by M J String Trio. A group of violinist and cellist out of Poland. Excellent trio. We purchased their two CDs and enjoyed them on the drive north. Will look for another Carnival cruise down the road, but have two more cruises coming up. One in Sept to New England and the other in 8/2020 to Alaska with the family. Read Less

While looking for cruises around our birthdays (my 75th) we found one that left on my wife's birthday and on my birthday. Carnival was the one. Left from Port Canaveral was the easiest embarkation we were on board in 15 minutes (priority boarding) went to lunch and checked suite out. Everything was ready. Rm 11221 spa suite. Large balcony , walk in closet , large bathroom. And access to spa . Main dining room -Sapphire was great longest wait 10 minutes on my time dining. Went on excursions at all ports and booked thru Carnival . Great guides and interesting info on country. Some good deals on larimar jewelry in Dom. Republic. Our Room Steward Sabina was almost telepathic first night asked for ice and got it in 10 minutes the next night we called again she said it was in the room already - it was and she checked to make sure. Towel animals were great. Only negative was long lines for some of the food venues.Disembarkation was chaotic used our priority status to get off in 20 minutes.Sure helped . Was a great cruise and not our first one. Looking forward to next one. Did see a lot of young children that were not being watched by parents. Surprised that they weren't more cautious even on a CLOSED environment As a retired Police Officer I felt that they needed closer supervision. We live only an hour from Port Canaveral.and go to the Cape for launches -can see them on clear days from our front yard. Did not go to see any entertainment preferred to watch new movies on tv and occasionally room service which if you choose correctly was included in cruise cost. Great snacks. Asked for cheese plates to go from supper and never refused. Wait staff knew what we had for beverages after first night ,called us by our names and had beverages waiting at table. Embarrassed both of us on birthdays by singing Happy Birthday along with other diners at dinner. Read Less

Went on the Oasis with my BFF and had a great time! Our large ocean view balcony cabin was perfect for us! The headliner, Tony Tillman, gave a great performance! We dined at Giovanni's, Chops, and 150 Central Park, as well as ate in the MDR for MTD. All restaurants were excellent! My favorite would have to be 150CP for its mouth-watering beef tenderloin for two! Best meat I have ever tasted, and the very tasty small lobster tail was a nice surprise! My favorite hangout spots are Central Park, Boardwalk, Rising Tide bar, and the solarium! My two favorite classes are Oasis and Freedom, so much so, that my DH and I will be boarding Lady O again in just 2 short weeks!! Port Canaveral is also our favorite embarkation port, as we only live 2 hours away, and there are lots of parking options! Thanks RCCL for continued excellence!! P.S. I will hate seeing the DL on Deck 11 replaced by Wonderland and the DL either being eliminated or moved to the windowless Deck 4! It's just business (I guess). We have wanted to cruise on one of the Oasis class ships far some time and thankfully final did. What a great ship. Yes there are 6000 guests on board however with only one exception, we didn't experience any long lines. The exception of course was the windjammer buffet. They hold you up at the entrance so they can locate a seat for you which is a good idea. Other wise there would be tons of people bumping into one another trying to find a seat. Just too many people and totally unnecessary. We instead ate breakfast at the Central Park Cafe'. No lines quiet, enjoyable and the food was good. If you want to go to a buffet and load your plate to the ceiling with food you probably wont eat cause it's free, the Park cafe might not be for you. There is no charge, however there aren't 10,000 items to choose from. Specialty dining was simply awesome. I would highly recommend it. Main dining room was OK but we preferred the specialty restaurants. We found the solarium cafe' to be in between the main dining room and specialty restaurants as far as food quality. You will need to make reservations in advance but it is also free. Loved the shows. By the way, RESERVE YOUR SEATS FOR THE SHOWS prior to sailing. Drink prices have gone way up sense we last cruised on Royal three years ago. The drink package might be for you if you plan on drinking five or more drinks per day. Keep your eyes open prior to sailing for deals on the drink package. Day 5 they offered several drink deals. We took advantage of the 10 drinks for $79 card. After gratuity it was close to $100. You save around $35 bucks depending on what you are drinking. Only thing I don't like about RCCL is the day strip on the floor in the elevators. I don't want to be reminded every time I get in the elevator what day it is and how little time we have left. LOL Read Less

We just got off a 10 day cruise on the Epic. Just thought I'd share a few things with the group..... We booked this cruise because of the ship (we had been on the Epic previously and love her!) and the length of the cruise......we had been to all the ports a couple times so we figured we'd get off if we felt like it, or not, so we felt no pressure to run around all over the place if we chose to just stay on the ship. I enjoyed that feeling of relaxation! Our cruise stopped at the usual suspects.....Jamaica, Grand Caymen, Belize, Cozumel, Costa Maya......we were supposed to stop at the NCL private Island (which we've been to before) but couldn't get in due to rough waters.....so we had an extra sea day which we enjoyed. Our favorite port was by far Costa Maya....they have an area for only cruise ships that was really done nicely, with shops, a pool, restaurants and bars, alot of activities and things to do and see. It was great! They had added so much since we had seen it a few years ago! Had a great time there! The best snorkeling I've ever experienced is in Cozumel.....we were told about a place called Money Beach our first trip there and have gone there every time since! It's a short cab ride from the pier and well worth it! Nice restaurant and bar, lounge chairs.....rent snorkeling gear for about $12 for the day and you're all set. Clearest water and the most fish I've ever seen!! Don't even get off the ship in Grand Caymen unless you just want to go to a beach or shop. Nothing much there IMO. Same goes for Jamaica, we got off to go to Margaritaville where we had some fun years ago, but it's really changed. Wouldn't go again, very run down, no fun, terrible service!! We're not fans of Belize either, but this time it was nice because they built a private Island which was nice, so we enjoyed it this time. Nice beach, pool with swim-up bar, shops, etc.......no comparison to Costa Maya but along the same lines. Now for the ship...... We are in the minority in that we never spend extra money to upgrade our cabin because it's just not worth it to us.....we are never in it but to shower, change and sleep!! So we keep our inside. We like to be up on the deck for breakfast, the pool, etc., we aren't they type to sit in our room by ourselves and look out at the ocean from our balcony, we like to be among the people! So my critic is for the inside cabin..... Don't listen to all the nay-sayers who complain about the set-up of the bath area.....it's no big deal! Yes, the shower, sink and toilet are all separated, but there's a curtain you can pull if you need to which only leaves the sink outside of it, but it worked fine for us. The toilet and shower also of course have their own doors, so who cares?! The room was probably the most spacious on any of the ships, the closet and drawer space was absolutely the best, and there is plenty of cabinet space for toiletries above the sink. If you can get by the unusual bath set-up, it's the best laid out room with the best closet and drawer space for everything we've had, and we've been on many NCL ships!! The food in the main dining rooms has come a long way from years ago. We were extremely impressed with everything we ordered in Taste and Manhattan Room. The buffet is average.....breakfast is breakfast and they had a good variety every morning, it's set up well in that there are quite a few "omelette stations" and they had eggs benedict every day so I was happy! Their breads are amazing, their bakery on all the NCL ships IMO is second to none. Lunch was ok, nothing special I will say for the lunch buffet but they have great chicken salad and they had a taco bar almost every day so that was cool! We ate in Le Bistro and Moderno this time with our two platinum free specialty dinners. Le Bistro wasn't as good as other ships IMO but Moderno was amazing! They have a fantastic soup/salad bar to die for!! My favorite part of the whole meal was the soup (Fiejoada)......unbelievable!! I couldn't wait to get back to that restaurant just for that. Make sure you try it!! Entertainment....the two main shows were not up to par with other ships IMO....but worth seeing......Burn the Floor and Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Both interesting but mediocre compared to some other newer ships.....we saw Rock of Ages and Oh What a Night and Blue Man Group on other cruises. Rock of Ages is far and away my favorite, I think it's still on the Breakaway. We love Howl at the Moon so we stopped in there every night they played. The comedian Rodney L. (forget his last name, sorry) was the best I've ever seen, don't miss him!! What else......the casino......not my favorite but large and spread out, not the best selection of slots IMO and way too smokey and smelly when you got near the smoking section. Some of the games I liked were in smoking so I did have to venture in there sometimes but it was horrible!!! All in all, the Epic is one of our favorite NCL ships......we aren't fans of the pool area on the Breakaway class ships.....the Epic has a large area of outdoor tables so you can have breakfast and lunch while at the pool without having to sit in that stupid corridor or inside like on those others. That's a big deal to us, so I would choose the Epic, the Dawn, and others over that Breakaway class all day long!! Read Less

We chose the cruise via Travel email sent to us. The price seemed reasonable to us and taking a cruise on a cruise ship was on our bucket list. We were so delighted with the cruise although we cruised with 4,000 of our newest friends we always felt welcome by all the staff, especially our Cabin Stewart, Andrik Prasetyo, who was very personable and caring at all times of our comfort on board. The food was excellent at every restaurant on board. The NCL Epic allows one to choose which restaurant to dine at and is not a "cattle call" type of setting. Food and drink was available 24/7. The entertainment was top of the line! and a good variety was available during the cruise. The public areas (including the rest rooms were always spotless - a real feat considering there were 4,000 passengers onboard. We are retired and found the passengers where a span of age groups so we felt completely comfortable with all the venues we elected to attend while on board. We highly recommend Norwegian Cruise Lines. Read Less

Embrakment was easy and organized. We had a balcony room lots of room for two people and storage for clothes. Dining was great. Had most meals at buffet garden cafe buffet, Cagney steakhouse, Japanese hibachi and braizilian steakhouse. Service was wonderful. Guaranteed you won’t go hungry. Don’t forget to have room service at least for a late night pizza snack. Ports of call are a way to stretch your legs. And shopping for jewelry and forget me nots..looking forward to my next cruise. Staff are friendly and helpful service was wonderful. Also lots to do on the ship on sea days. Your daily schedule was full or just enjoy the day with a drink in hand and make friends for a life time. I enjoyed being pampered. And not having to follow a schedule and free style. I suggest 120 days out to sailing book your dining times for dinner. Early times go fast. We like to dine early. So, I was happy someone suggested that we booked earlier. Shows every evening. So, if you’re looking forward to some pampering book your getaway trip soon. Read Less

The ship was fantastic. Lots of activities. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The service was the best I've ever had. I think it was because I had reached Diamond status & the staff treated me like royalty! I was constantly getting champagne, wine, or sweets in my cabin. We had My Time Dining & we kept the same waiters. They were outstanding--spoiled us to death! The only bad thing was our room. We were doing a back to back & the room for our 1st week for your typical inside cabin. Small but certainly manageable for 2 widowed ladies. That room was 11677. The room for this week of our cruise was room 14327 & it was totally unacceptable! The bathroom had a small, very shallow sink that I couldn't even begin to wash my bathing suit in. There were no glass holders, no clothes line in the shower--just 2 hooks. The place that was supposed to be a place for your soap & shampoo to be was not a solid surface so everything placed there would fall through! The closet was a little larger than our 1st room but was only a foot from the bed. We couldn't get to it unless we slid the bed toward the other bed! Even then we couldn't bend down to get to the shoes so I just piled my shoes on the other side of the room in front of the long couch! Why such a super long couch & no room to get in the closet? Horrible room! The entertainment was great! Very enjoyable Headliner Shows. I really liked Cats. It's not a 3 hour show that so many people have said. It was 2 hours & 25 min. I saw it twice. One of the comedians, Nery Saenz was very funny in the Comedy Club & also in the auditorium, but the other one was not. Frozen in Time was very good & so was the Aqua show. Lots of good entertainment. Pools & hot tubs very good. The food in Haiti was not the best. All of the meat was dry. Good entertainment while we were eating there. Typical ports--we didn't do any shore excursions. The Dining Room had good food for the most part. Ate at Chops one night & it was outstanding. Embarkation was very bad. The passengers that had already checked in had to sit on the floor or chairs because they couldn't board the ship yet. We were getting ready to check in but were not allowed to since no one could board & had to stand there for a good 40 minutes. We were told that the Coast Guard had sent only 3 people instead the usual 18 required to clear the ship. All in all it was a good cruise on a great ship. Read Less

We decided to do a neighborhood cruise from The Villages, FL. on the beautiful Oasis taking the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. This was our 4th cruise on the Oasis and it was good to be back on her. Final call had a total of 49 cruiser's heading out for 7 days of fun and over indulgence with the many food choices available. The Oasis class ship is our ship of choice with the many venues available any day of the week. Because we had been to all the usual ports many times we chose to stay on board during Port days and enjoyed the solitude available in all the hot tubs and pools and also the non busy eating places that were open. Entertainment was provided by cutthroat games of Sequence to burn up the calories. Embarkation was a nightmare as customs didn't clear the ship for boarding until almost noon thereby guarantying huge winding lines where you visited your neighbor many times over as we weaved our way thru. But finally they cleared the ship for boarding and we were ready for our adventure. We had a basic ocean view balcony that sufficed for the occasion but after being spoiled in suites a few times lately it's never the same. But we were on a cruise so we sucked it up and enjoyed what we had. We ate in the Main Dining room table # 836 @ 5:30 every night and we have never had better service in 20+ cruises with Tejas and Ming Ming bending over backwards to accomodate our every need The basic shows that we've also seen many times were good but "Come Fly With Me" needs to be replaced as it's served it's useful purpose. Aqua Theatre and ice skating show are always entertaining. Sadly the departure date arrived and once again our vaunted Customs Agents delayed everything as in the beginning they had 2 agents to serve 6,000 passengers. It's a shame that in some peoples eyes they blame RCCL for these messes with embark/disembark problems which were not of any of their doing. On the bus ride home our group of 49 all agreed it was a wonderful cruise and everyone had a grand time. You can't ask for a better rating than that. Read Less

I have almost 25 cruises under my belt, I have cruise the sunshine three times this year, I keep me coming back for more. I can’t get enough of the Motown celebration and Mardi Gras night to name a few. The entertainment staff is awesome they keeps you on the edge of your seat. The dining room staff are very attentive and appear eager to meet your needs, it is amazing that they can call you by name. Shout out to Mikey, one of the best cruise directors I have ever seen and the DJ aboard the ship was awesome. As we sailed away l observed all the passengers aboard The Royal Caribbean packed to one side of their ship, it looked like they were wishing they were aboard Carnival Sunshine, the Dj shouted out Who cares about how much noise we make, we’re out on the ocean and the song played “turn down for what “. The staff aboard the ship were awesome, in the dining area the Casino and house keeping. I'm currently planning to return to the Sunshine again in May 2019 and I have a back to back cruise planned for December 2019 aboard the Panorama out of Los Angeles. Any reason to go on cruise, is a good reason, as I continue on the hunt for more delightful times at sea! Read Less

Every year a small group of us do a reunion around Thanksgiving time, usually on Carnival out of Port Canaveral which is the closest to my home (75 miles) I am Diamond status on Carnival with 49 cruises with them and 135 lifetime on all lines.Check in for luggage and Citizenship and sign and sail went quickly. the parking garage was less the 400 feet from the pier.. weather was perfect. no rough seas. all three of us elderly gentlemen , ages 85, 71 and 67 walk with canes. and had no problems with hallway obstructions. I was offered the use of wheelchair service to board and debark and was very happy with the offer. also, to go ashore in one port I had to borrow a wheelchair which one of my friends pushed for me and only had to give a $50 refundable deposit for its use and safe return. the local tender folks in Belize were also very helpful with the wheelchair as well. The dinners were all excellent, especially the night in Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse. The Chocolate buffet on the last day at sea was plentiful and tasty.. we did not go to the repeater parties. we did not buy any shore excursions. we didn't partake of any of the entertainment options as we felt they were too amplified for our taste and, honestly, we've all been "over-entertained" having grown up in NYC and Los Angeles.. Carnival corp has obviously made a deal with their cable company as there was only the Turner Networks package of tv shows and news on the in room tv. the selection of free movies was ok. they repeated the same 6 or 7 all week in rotation. the wi-fi package was only $119 for a whole week and one of us purchased it due to health issues and staying in touch with their concerned family. it worked well 98% of the time but response times on the in-house computer screens was notoriously slow like in the old 64K Dial up days. We had an excellent cruise. We were a little crowded because I had rented a scooter to get from one end of the ship to the other and the scooter had to remain in the room, at all times, when not in use. An accessible room was not available when we booked, so from now on we will only book accessible rooms, and if none are available, we will pick another itinerary. Our cabin steward was excellent and our waiter was exceptional. We didn't go to any of the $ restaurants since the food in the MDR was good and to our liking. We booked an inside balcony overlooking the Boardwalk and thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast on the balcony and enjoyed watching all the cruisers wander around the Boardwalk. We could see the Aqua Theater from our balcony and enjoyed watching the shows there. The perks that go along with the inside balcony were a treat. . . . Will be on the Harmony next October and are looking forward to exploring another of the Royal Caribbean ships. Read Less

A relaxing seven-day trip! Our trip began in Tallahassee on October 6th as we drove to Gainesville to attend the Florida/LSU football game (what a game!). After the game we drove to Orlando and stayed at the Marriott Fairfield inn near the Orlando airport (a 45-minute drive to the port). We arrived at the port around 11:00 am and, for the convenience, we parked in the port garage - $136 for the week. Security and Check-in were efficient and within 15 minutes we were in the waiting area to board the ship. We were in the waiting area about 15 minutes and were in the Windjammer having lunch by 12:00 noon. As always, the paella was excellent! This was our fourth cruise on the Oasis class ships and our second on the Oasis of the Seas. The Oasis of the Seas is a beautiful ship and was clean and well maintained, although the ship is beginning to show wear on the carpets and furniture and on the pool deck. Since this was fall break for several southeastern states, there were a lot of families and kids on this cruise. We stayed in cabin 10209, a veranda room overlooking Central Park. As part of the package for staying in a veranda room overlooking Central Park, we received a complimentary bottle of wine and a lunch in Giovanni’s. The lunch at Giovanni’s was excellent. The room was well maintained and outstanding service was provided by our Cabin Attendant (Debra Jack)! The only minor issues we had were that our luggage arrived after dinner and our safe would not open the first evening; we called to have this remedied and they addressed the issue within 20 minutes. In the past, I have been critical of the food in the Main Dinning Room, but this time we found the food to be very good. The menus provided many desirable options. To increase efficiency, the bread is now in bowls on the table (not served to you) and when you place your order you select all courses, including dessert. Steven (waiter) and Alexander (asst. waiter) provided outstanding service. While the first couple of nights we were the only people at a table of six, two ladies joined us at the table later in the week. The highlight of our dining experience in the main dining room was the food and great conversation with our table mates. We did elect to purchase a speciality dinning package (three dinners for $85 plus gratuities per person). Two dinners at the Chops Grill were excellent (great food and service). The third night we went to Sabor and the food was very good, especially the guacamole. The entertainment on the ship was very good. Our favorite shows were the Headliner Show featuring Earl Turner, the aerial show - Come Fly With Me, the aqua show - Oasis of Dreams, and the ice show - Frozen in Time. The Cats production show was disappointing as it was hard to follow and the too-loud background music made it hard to understand the singers. Also disappointing was the sports channels that were offered on the ship, especially on Saturday when only two college football games were shown. Both ESPN channels featured European sports. Since most of the people on the ship were from the southeastern states, a lot of people were disappointed that no SEC football games were available Below are a few of the things that we enjoyed the most and a few tips to use on the ship: Favorite sweets: coconut cookies, oatmeal cookies, carrot cake, and the Austrian fruit breakfast bread. Favorite places to enjoy the pool or escape the crowd to read or take a nap: on Deck 17 in the Solarium near the bar under the shade. Favorite way to start the day: On the treadmill in the gym as the sun comes up or on the walking track on Deck 5. We also enjoy sitting in the chairs on the back of the ship on Deck 5 when the ship is leaving port. Beverage Package: We purchased the soda package. The self-serve Coke machines provide endless drink options and the machines are located in the Windjammer (four), two on the Promenade, and a single machine on Deck 15 in the Arcade. Many passengers do not know about the machine on Deck 15, unless you go into the Arcade. Best way to avoid the wait for elevators before dinner: Either take the stairs or come down early for dinner and have a drink in the many bars or food areas on Deck 5. Read Less

This was our third time on Oasis of the Seas. Just the two of us in a Central Park balcony stateroom. Plenty big and the bed was very comfortable. We brought our Pride GoGo folding scooters with us but didn't use them for the cruise. Lots of room for storing them in our cabin beside the couch. Just needed them the week after while we were at Disney World. Our stateroom attendant, Humlyn was amazing. She kept our cabin clean, well stocked with towels and other essentials and most of all, she was so friendly and always smiling. Royal Caribbean gave us a few unexpected perks for staying in a Central Park cabin such as a bottle of red wine, chocolate strawberries and a complimentary lunch at Giovanni's. Nice touch Guest Services! Enjoyed "First Night Done Right" at Chops Grill. Well worth the bargain price of $20 each. Service was amazing and special thanks to our waiter Andrew who took such good care of us. We enjoy sitting on deck 16 in the Solarium because of the shade and the quiet atmosphere away from the crowds. Never had a problem finding a chair or lounge and the hot tubs and pool were enjoyed thoroughly by us through the week. We found the food to be excellent in both the American Icon dining room, the Park Café, Windjammers and the specialty restaurants. If the menu was not to our liking in the dining room, then we ate a few evenings in the Windjammer. Service was excellent and the staff really go out of their way to make sure you have beverages by delivering them to you instead of you having to leave the table to get them. That was a service much appreciated. We had a table for 2 in the American Icon dining room (my time dining) and so happy to be at table 135 because of our amazing head waiter Mario and his assistant Arvin. Treated us like royalty and they worked hard and service was fast. Lobster night was great and delicious. Of course we enjoyed the Royal Promenade with all the entertainment, shops and yes... food counters. Royal Caribbean has such great staff who always smile and make your vacation so special. The ship is starting to show her age but she is clean and you appreciate how hard everyone works. We are Diamond class and did enjoy the Diamond Lounge. Only wish I had was that the drinks would be available maybe an hour later than 8:00 pm and that mocktails would be included since I don't drink liquor or beer. I just had Diet Cokes for the week. Please remember that all cruise ships have good and bad issues so you should always keep an open mind when booking a cruise but certainly don't be afraid to book the Oasis or similar Royal Caribbean ships. You won't be disappointed. Hope this review is helpful. Read Less
