Disorganized crew. Restaurant maitre'd and serving staff did not know the menus. Bar staff did not know basic cocktail terms (neat, up, dry, etc). Food in MDR and buffet looked good, tasted blah (knives in buffet were so dull every time that I could cut neither an Eggs Benedict English muffin nor a carved slice of roast beef). We are excited to do an Alaskan cruise, and got balcony cabins so we could see the view and enjoy the outdoors. Balcony was approximately 2’ x 6’. Yes the chairs had to be turned sideways to fit on the balcony. The now only have one room make up a day no turn down service. Took this cruise to enjoy the sights of Alaska and travel to Hawaii, and it started good and rapidly went downhill on the Norwegian Spirit. Ship is old and smaller than others, therefore lacking in good activities and eating establishments. The employees were great. The food was always cold and the same except in the upgrade restaurants. At one port there were no shuttles or buses and we were not told so if you couldn’t walk dir 30 min in 90 degree weather you didn’t go anywhere because the taxi line was LONG and over an hr wait Couldn’t get by the pool because people would get up early and grab towels to save chairs until they ...

Ship was extremely crowded, the size of the ship is not large enough for the number of cabins. Use the stairs the get around, elevators were always crowded and slow. NCL staff and management have no clue how to travel with 4,000 passengers. We are still trying to decide if the ports just are not ready for the mega ships - or if NCL just doesn't care whether they get repeat customers.
