I have just disembarked from this Norwegian Spirit cruise that started in Southampton on 27th September and was supposed to call at Ijmuiden for Amsterdam then on to Bergen, Flam and Geiranger in Norway before heading off to Iceland to visit Akureyri and Reykjavik then on to Belfast and Dublin before returning to Southampton. Prior to departure from Southampton passengers were informed that due to ...
Cancelled half the ports and offered no refund or apology. Terrible customer service. Leaking sewage and overflowing toilets. Ruined our very expensive trip and lied or withheld info from customers on several occasions. Wouldn’t travel with Norwegian ever again even if it was free. The food service and cabin cleaning crew were great and the food was decent but everything else about this ...
Embarkation went smoothly with exception of a change of schedule, the first port Amsterdam. Not a major deal because the substitute port was Le Havre, France, outside of Paris. Not, the ship was unable to dock and we were given a day at sea. Then, Iceland (two ports) was canceled and we were given two additional ports in Norway and one in Scotland because of Hurricane Lorenzo. This was ...
I’m sure by now you are aware of the issues that the passengers on the cruise of the Norwegian Spirit endured. I will recount my experience.
We saved and saved to do this cruise to Iceland. It was our once in a lifetime trip to Iceland.
An overview:
Boarded the ship in Southampton.
Were informed we could not go to Amsterdam so rerouted to LaHavre.
Were informed we could not go ...
We were on the Spirit for the Norway/Iceland/Ireland itinerary in late Sept/early Oct. 2019. Due to Hurricane Lorenzo moving up from the Gulf, there were several changes in our itinerary. It resulted in some people on the ship getting bent out of shape, and vocal demonstrations. When you stepped back to look at it, most of the changes were reasonable due to weather, but Norwegian could have ...
We chose this cruise leaving from Southampton UK, for the itinerary - Amsterdam, 3 ports in Norway, 2 ports in Iceland, Belfast and Dublin. Before boarding we found out that Amsterdam was cancelled due to bad weather and instead were going to Le Havre, France. This was also cancelled so 2 sea days before we got to Norway for our scheduled port stops.
Iceland was then cancelled due to weather ...
Looking forward to Amsterdam and Iceland. Booked >400 days before the sail date. We had 4 fabulous days in London before sailing. We planned private excursions at every port at great expense. Embarkation went smoothly since I'm a gold latitudes member. The ship had only 2018 passengers and was in need of upgrading. The cabin was small. Meals at the paid restaurants were excellent. Other than ...
Norwegian Spirit - “Iceland and Mystical Fjords “ - Sept 2019. Accompanied by my wife and son.
We booked this cruise mostly because of Iceland (never been), but was also pleased to hopefully re-visit Norway, Amsterdam, and Ireland. With all the changes and cancellations we were certainly disappointed and frustrated, but honestly I can’t fault the crew nor the ship.
The news articles were ...
My mum wanted to see the northern lights before she dies, so we booked this cruise fom Southampton (side note: my Grandad helped build this dock !) The embarkation from this port was so easy and smooth. I've been on the Spirit before so it was nice to show my mum around. The cabin was spacious, on deck 10, easy to get to everything and we were quite happy there.
Due to the weather our ...
My wife and I chose this cruise because we wanted to visit Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland. We were primed to go to Amsterdam, Norway and Iceland (the latter two for the first time). We are in our late 70's and this was perhaps our last chance to do this. We understand the elimination of the relevant ports doe safety reasons due to a hurricane. We do not understand why the port of La Havre was ...
