Embarkation went smoothly with exception of a change of schedule, the first port Amsterdam. Not a major deal because the substitute port was Le Havre, France, outside of Paris. Not, the ship was unable to dock and we were given a day at sea. Then, Iceland (two ports) was canceled and we were given two additional ports in Norway and one in Scotland because of Hurricane Lorenzo. This was disappointing but understandable because of weather. Then on the day we were to dock in Scotland at 8:00am, we were told a Naval ship was docked and we would arrive at 9:30am. 9:30am came and approximately at 9:45am the captain states we had to abort port because of weather. Okay, there is a discrepancy with this story. This is when the ship loss all creditability and a protest started on board. Our 14-day Icelandic cruise became a Norway/Ireland cruise. Regarding, the ship, cabin, dining, activities and service on board were excellent. The ports and shore excursions we were able to do were great. The ship offered 25% off a future cruise and refunded $60 for Iceland port charges and taxes. Many people are not going on another Norwegian Cruise. This was not a cheap cruise because of the destinations we were supposed to go to. A 25% refund needs to be given on this cruise. The ship made news headlines all over the world.
