Excellent cruise-all worries overstated

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

We took our first transatlantic cruise and had two rooms for a family of seven. We haven’t cruised since before Covid. Based on the reviews I was quite worried. Concerns were all overstated. I am at a loss for all the negative reviews. As far as I can tell, some people just cannot create their own fun. I was worried about overcrowding. Nothing of the sort. Granted, it was a transatlantic ...

Smiles and frowns on our getaway on the GETAWAY

This is our fourth cruise with NCL (Majesty, Epic, Bliss, Getaway) and we have another five already booked for the future. We love NCL because of the value, the unlimited drink package, the freestyle dining, no unexpected charges, the Latitudes program and so much more. We just became Gold -- we're a little disappointed in how little the benefits increase between Silver and Gold, but we won’t be ...

For our first cruise, the Norwegian Getaway exceeded our expectations in terms of size, the many amenities and the inclusion of the Free at Sea promotion. It was so nice to not worry about extra charges for food and beverages during our time at sea. The food at the buffet and Tropicana was hot and fresh with options for everyone. We had no problem keeping busy with the activities and ...

Not perfect, but would do it again

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Chose this itinerary for our first cruise because the southeastern Caribbean islands tend to be more 'tropical', so I've always wanted to go there. The weather was absolutely perfect for the entire 10 days. Not sure how Norwegian arranged that, but kudos to them. ;-) We had a Club Balcony Suite, which is not actually a suite, nor is it in any sort of club. It was bigger than a standard balcony ...

Determined to Have a Great Vacation

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

This was our first vacation without kids in a long time and my husband and I were determined to go with the flow and not let anything ruin this trip. Our room steward told us that the ship was full with around 4,100 guests on board. The Getaway was repositioned from New York in April so when it pulled into dock at Port Canaveral it had been empty for two days. That made for a smooth embarkation ...

A wonderful "Getaway".

We chose this cruise for the included airfare and other incentives being offered. We have cruised the Getaway before but only for 7 days. This time we wanted to cruise a little longer. We flew to Orlando a day early, using Goport to book a night at the Cambria and for the ride to the ship in the morning. We had a very nice room at the Cambria, and the restaurant in the lobby was very good. ...

Amazing Family Trip

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Norwegian Escape

This is our third trip on the Escape. We had a group of 10 with four of them being teenagers. Getting on the boat was super easy. We left from port Canaveral. We stood in line for a quick few minutes and then got registered. Once we got registered we waited about 30-40 minutes to board the ship. (We always arrive early to board so we know we'll have to wait). The boat has showed it's age a ...

We had a fabulous time on our Escape cruise!! Yes, it was more than a full ship, but honestly we were not bothered by waiting for anything for very long! I will say, our family eats early, so we never had to wait to get into restaurants. We also were able to get into every show in the theater. We arrived about 20 to 30 minutes early...just to get good seats! The entertainment was GREAT! There was ...

Dream of a week

We just returned from a dream of a week on NCL Escape for our family of 4 (ages 31, 30, 4, 1) and we had the BEST time! I really really CANNOT understand the vast majority of the negative reviews about this ship. So many things I mentally prepared for being subpar were absolutely wonderful. This was our first NCL cruise (grant it due to kids and the pandemic, I have not sailed other lines for 7+ ...

This is our 2nd time on the Escape. There were 4 of us this time. We stayed in spa balcony rooms and also had vibe passes. We ate at Cagney's, Le Bistro and Food republic twice. We used our excursion credit to reserve a clam shell on GSC. Our stops included DR, St. Thomas, Tortola and GSC. If you can book a room with access to the spa do it. The place is great. It didn't ever feel crowded, ...
