Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We booked this cruise over a year ago on a different ship and then it was changed to the Epic. I was a bit concerned about this after reading some reviews on cruise critic about the crew not being friendly and the terrible crowds. The crew couldn't have been nicer. They greeted us with smiles at every turn. The ship was a bit crowded but you were able to deal with it. The one thing you have to ...

Not happy with the miscommunication regarding the non-alcoholic wine. Had the beverage package and still had to pay $24 for a bottle of non-alcoholic wine, yet my husband had red wine by the glass for no charge. Do not see the logic in this. Non-alcoholic was was only available in restaurants, not in bar/lounge/pool areas. Should be sold by the glass just like regular wine was. Made the call ...

6 night Western Caribbean with my mom and aunt. Arrived to Port Canaveral about 11:15am. Waited outside in line no more than 10 minutes. After that, everything went fairly quickly. On board within about 30 minutes. Booked in a mini-suite which didn't pose any problems for us, had a curtain between bath area and bed. Lots of stateroom storage, excellent stateroom service. Service charge of 7.95 for ...

My disabled husband and I took our annual cruise. Since he can't fly, we are fortunate to have options in Florida to drive to. Wanting to take a bigger ship, so the Norwegian Epic out of Canaveral was a good pick. Parking, Embarking, and Disembarking was a breeze. We got to the port at 11:15 and were having lunch at 12:15. Using a porter to disembark is the way to go. They get you through the ...

Good cruise line, poor ship

This was our first NCL cruise and I would compare the service and food with the more expensive Celebrity. Two members of our party required wheelchair assistance to embark & disembark and the process was the smoothest ever. Service was first rate from their Call Center to the people at the terminal to the entire ship staff. We ate most of our meals in the buffet and the Great Outdoors and I was ...

EPIC CRUISE - Eastern Caribbean - Dec 10-17

My review of the December Epic cruise: FOOD - Most of the restaurants (except I was disappointed in O'Sheehan's - terrible food!!!) served very good food. Although, I was disappointed at times because the food wasn't served as hot as expected. In general the serving staff at the restaurants were great. I especially liked the dinner in The Manhattan Room and the breakfasts at Taste. The Garden ...

I was nervous before we went on this cruise because of the many negative reviews of the ship and staff. Overall, we had a great time, in spite of some pretty miserable weather. I was travelling with my 10 year old daughter, so stormy days and the closing of the pools were disappointing. Embarking was easy -- there was a long line of cars to get into the port at around 11 (but that isn't NCL's ...

Pros: Lots of ships in port so tons of traffic but actual embarkation/debarkation at Port Canaveral was really well organized and fast. I did self debarkation. Both have been a problem in the past from what I read but were great for me. I've been on 18-20 cruises and this was the simplest and best organized that I've seen--excluding the old time 70's/80's thing. Ship is clean with the usual ...

The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. We travelled with a big group and planned ahead for excursions and shows and dining and everything went smoothly. We were all very disappointed that our stay in St. Thomas was so short. We had to be back on the boat at 2PM which left very little time to sightsee and shop. I would not recommend this cruise simply for that reason. Dining was ...

The port canaveral operation needs a manager to organize their operation. Right now it is a mess. Taxis & shuttles lined up to pay entry fees. Very poor oversight, I'd fire someone. The cruise lines should demand improvement right now. Once in NCL'S domaine, at pier 10, all went smooth & easy. Not a pretty ship. To me it looks like a barge with a hotel stuck on top. Well maintained, ...
