Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Star

Embarkation in Miami NCL must FIX THIS. It is not wise to begin a cruise with chaos, inefficiency and overcrowding. NCL has the opportunity to create a positive first impression ONCE; and on this cruise, it failed. I later learned that the delay was caused by an unannounced ship inspection which NCL STAR passed with ease. An explanation of the unavoidable delays should have been communicated ...

Great cruise to see Panama Canal, and Central America

Second time I cruised with Norwegian. My only three "real" complaints are : 1. the public rooms are very COLD. The Library felt like a meat locker. I think the cause is the staff is so "fully dressed." 2. I don't think the "specialty" restaurants are worth the price, $120 for a very average French meal, and $80 for Italian, and my wife's was inedible. 3. The theater talent and shows were ...

Variable Experience, but good overall

Enjoyed this cruise, but there were some negatives which NCL need to take onboard. Embarkation - we stayed overnight with NCL and got an organised bus to the terminal, which allowed us to skip the long lines outside. Inside was still a trial. NCL have outsourced to Intercruise, who don't appear to be geared-up to handle the known number of passengers. Cruise Director - English girl who would ...

Great people and service - NCL Pearl met expectations

In the opinion of this experienced cruiser (10+), it is very difficult to not have a good time on a cruise unless something unusual happens- so with the itinerary of Panama Canal and Costa Rica, along with the standard western Caribbean port swing through Harvest Caye, Roatan, and Costa Maya, good times were expected- and NCL met expectations. Those who cruise a lot may note that exceeding ...

Dad always wanted to cruise the canal

We only cruise with Norwegian, very casual friendly atmosphere. No strict schedules to go by! I cruised with my dad, stepmom, and a friend of mine. In Cartagena we took a party bus, plenty of free rum and cokes with the price of your ticket, and ride around town with your own 3pc band, 3 stops, dancing and shopping as well as history all in this tour. Next was the canal, we didn’t get off but ...

A little bit disappointed

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary being that it was going to the Panama Canal. We booked it in Feb of 2018 for what we considered a reasonable price, however the port fees were well above the normal probably due to the fees charged to go through the canal. This was our 7th NCL cruise and our 20th cruise and we have been cruising since 1995. The ship was very nice, however there was ...

We just got off the Dawn today. We were in cabin 10706 balcony cabin. It was a great room. Comfortable close to the aft elevators and very quiet. A lot of people said the crew was very unfriendly. We found the opposite. The crew was awesome and very helpful. We did not find a ship in disrepair. It is clean and very nice. We loved Bamboo and the Pub Osheas. Go there for breakfast. It’s quieter and ...

Panama Canal Transit Cruise NOT to be missed!

We’ve been looking for a Panama Canal Cruise and the Dawn’s itinerary were the best that we found. We were first-timers at all the ports visited. The cruising into Panama Canal was the best part! We stayed on the ship and experienced going through the east and west lanes. There was a speaker on the PA the whole time who explained what was going and was very helpful and informative. My husband ...

This was a last minute booking--about a month before the cruise. The fare dropped to $699 (this is not a type) for a balcony cabin! For a 16-day cruise and Panama Canal on our bucket list, we just couldn't pass this cruise up. This was also our 11th cruise in 3 years--and 3rd on NCL--so we knew what to expect. The Joy is a mega-ship with 3800 passengers. We only felt crowded and waited for ...

This was a first time cruise with NCL and we booked it because it gave us transit of the Panama canal which we had missed with other cruises in this area. Embarkation at Miami was to say the least a shambles it took us two and a half hours from arriving at the port to get on the ship, the shore staff were blaming a failure of the ship computer system, rightly or wrongly NCL could have provided ...
