There are so many wonderful things to say about our cruise on the NCL Joy that it is hard to decide where to begin. So I guess we will go in chronological order.
Embarkation went quickly and without a hitch. It was efficient and went quickly with no problems. Before we knew it we were on the ship ready to begin our vacation.
Muster Drill was easy and quick. There has been a lot of moaning ...
NCL Joy October 22, 2022 Sailing NYC to Bermuda
So good to be back to sailing. We would not go until mask requirements were gone. I loved this ship, so much to do and so many venues. The entertainment was non stop every day. Country Band from Nashville in the "Q". Broadway Shows, comedians the best I HAVE EVER HEARD. The staff always on top of everything. The days at sea were filled ...
We took a great trip on the Joy for 16 days from Miami to Los Angeles. Through the Panama Canal.
We had a great time. plenty of things to do on the ship and plenty of excursions were offered as well.
The embarkation in Miami was the worst of our 10 cruise vacations. First they sent us to the wrong area to check in ,so we went to the right section and there was a loud alarm going off for ...
This cruise experience was truly a mix of positive and negative impressions. Our biggest frustration was that the Joy changed our itinerary without explanation less than a week before taking off. They eliminated a stop in Santa Marta, where we had planned to meet family members. We don't think it is fair to offer no explanation for changes of this magnitude. This is a newer ship that is spotlessly ...
For our 17th cruise, we wanted to experience the Panama Canal. We had taken NCL in Sept. to New England and in October around the Western Mediterranean. This 3rd Norwegian cruise was a charm. We are a couple in our 60's recently retired and it's time to travel while we're still able to do so. While working and limited to 7 days off, we did the East, West, and South Caribbean total 10 times over 17 ...
The Joy is, unquestionably, a beautiful ship. That being stated, there are several deficiencies as to the ability to handle 3800+ guests. The theater is not able to handle the crowds and unless you got there at least 30 minutes prior to a show, odds are that you wouldn't get a seat. I have never, ever experienced this issue on any other cruises. Additionally, both the Cavern Club (the Beatles ...
This ship was very clean and well maintained. The electronic door openers may have seemed like a good idea but when you are trying to keep germs at a minimum, having everyone touch the openers to open doors is not a good idea. They need to post a sign by these openers and tell people to use their elbow or the back of their hands to activate them. In general, I feel that all NCL cruise ship food in ...
3rd cruise. Last one in the early 2000's. SAME FAKE art auction and same tanzanite sales pitch. Its old and scammy, cruiselines !
The show Elements was a 10 ! Other entertainment very good !
All meat was tough. All hot food not hot. All food a mix of very good and not so good.
Complimentary dining room service is slow between courses. I had to start ordering to get the appetizer and ...
First time on the Norwegian line. We had high hopes since this is a pretty new ship (built in 2017) and then had a major refurbishing in 2019. And while some of those hopes were met, others were not.
We had heard of the Premium Beverage Package that comes with the 5 free offers and so we were looking forward to that. Yes, it was nice, but in all honesty, my husband and I are not big ...
We chose this cruise as it allowed us to go to warm-weather ports in the winter, and we could use 2 Cruise Next certificates. Our last NCL cruise had not been great - especially the service.
We'd been on the ship before, as well as its sister ships Bliss and Escape, so we knew (and don't love) the design. We booked an inside cabin, which was OK, although I had hopes of winning the bid for a ...
