I wanted to go on a cruise which had a lot of activities for my 7 year old. I choose Norwegian escape because it has a water park, mini golf and rope course. Day 1 Sunday, October 27 arrived at pier in NYC around 12:10 because we were told via VM check in only between Noon and 3 due to coast guard inspection. We went out of Manhattan Ny and I thought that would be a royal pain in the a.. but it wasn't that bad. We drove up at around 4 AM from south jersey on a Sunday and hit zero traffic. We love sailing on Norwegian. The flexibility really works for us. The food is great, the activities and entertainment are fun. Everyone was friendly.
I found some great places to relax and read whether I wanted sun or shade. It was exciting to sail out of NYC and still be in the US for our first port day. Had an excellent time in Port Canaveral.
