1-Time of year
2-Ports of call
3-wanted to experience the new ship
4-The crew is exceptional. They are the best. It is like coming home to old friends.
5-All inclusive fare is very comfortable. I do not mind paying for excursions.
6-After a while these ports began to look the same. That is not your fault.
I was sorry that there were no sea days to relax in between all the ...
So we chose SilverSea after hearing from a colleague about the level of service and the overall quality of his cruise. After doing some more research, we decided to forgo having a large wedding reception in order to spend the $18,000 + to sail with SilverSea. I am going to write this according to the guide on this site. Then at the end I will add several other experiences we had during our ...
The Maiden Voyage of the Silver Muse was a major disappointment. She was touted as "Simply Divine" but she was "Simply Folly". You would have expected Silversea to bring their most experienced staff to work this ship. Alas, that was not the case. The service was substandard and there was "attitude" among some of the staff. There were times when we were offered wine and never received it; ice ...
Having travelled with Silversea on numerous occasions we had high expectations from this Brand New 6 Star Luxury Cruise Liner. But the reality was Guests were used as 'Guinea Pigs' and treated with disrespect.
We were never made aware that the policy in relation to Dinner Reservations was different to other Silversea Ships, all restaurants had to be booked well in advance or reservations ...
My wife and I took our first (and unfortunately probably last) cruise on Seabourn last week on the Odyssey on an 8 night Mediterranean cruise. Here is my personal review, starting with the good things:
Embarkation in Monte Carlo: Excellent. We arrived at about 12:30 and embarkation took no more than 10 minutes. We proceeded to the Colonnade for lunch (which was average to good). Nice that they ...
We chose this cruise upon the advice of friends who were also going with us..total of 8 adults. Checking in was fine, but once on the ship, disappointed in the presentation of the staff. The ship was old and worn, the staff did not seem happy to be there. As walking around the ship, we found that every aspect of it was dated.
Our suite was spacious, but found they did not "clean" it daily. ...
I had great cruises on the Pride and the Legend, however i am not happy at all on the 3 biggers sisters as they provide a complete other product as the original.
First of all it seems impossible for SB to verify a passengers history for the allocation of cabins booked on gurantee bas; On a level 16 i did receive the worsest cabin on board , after some complaints finally a V1 was assigned. ...
It is painful to write this review, but the loss of the three smaller 'sister' ships coupled with the change in corporate ownership of Seabourn have had a very negative impact on the overall quality, in our view. After more than a dozen Seabourn cruises starting in 2003, we are sad to say we will not return to these larger - and quite different, in terms of services and intimacy - 'Odyssey class' ...
Seabourn has changed. Historically a refined and relaxed atmosphere but no more.
On this cruise Seabourn management saw fit to sell almost half the cabins to a corporate incentive group from Australia. They literally took over the ship and their conduct was so bad the Captain made a ship wide announcement advising all passengers that use of foul language, public drunkenness and screaming and ...
The trip just fell short on everything. Started badly by having a toilet blockage in the public bathroom having to be fixed through our cabin. Because we couldn't dress for dinner I asked for another cabin (there were plenty that were empty). The cabin they offered was supposedly an upgrade because it was upstairs, but it was significantly smaller and noisier and had less storage space. We moved ...
