We used the hop on hop off bus in monte carlo and in reality as monte carlo isn't very large and there isn't a lot to see there we should have taken a tour to Nice which is what other cruisers did and they all really enjoyed that

Great yacht viewing and truly a playground for the uber rich. High end shopping and awesome people watching. Take the train to Nice for a great day excursion.

This is a must do. After the shopping with the Chefs you are on your own we saw the whole country in a few hours it's slightly bigger than the vatican.

Tenders docked us in Fontvielle (because multiple ships in town), but that ended up closer to the Monaco Car Collection museum and bus stop for #100 Place d'Armes for the bus that took us to Nice (3 euros for 2 people). For bus ride don't bother with day passes or ticket packs, just have lots of change. Nice was wonderful and busy with Farmers Market (Sunday) and better prices on soap than Marseille. Walked the seaside, ate in Old Town, wandered the shops and headed back at least 3 hours before last call. Gave us plenty of time to catch a returning 100 bus at Le Port (note that dropoff and pickup locations are different) between Rue Rusca and Rue Arson. View on bus is nice and probably the same as a actual tour bus (same road) though you miss the commentary. Didn't get to visit Monte Carlo much - next visit instead! Read Less

We just wandered to Monte Carlo. Great looking place, but admiring the filthy rich isnt what I call fun. Folk with way too much wealth and flaunting like confetti.

What a jewel! We took a Hop on Hop off tour to get a feel for the city and then enjoyed lunch at a dockside restaurant.

We were on a Viking Cruise and offered a free included walking tour but opted to explore on our own. In the morning, we explored the older part of Monte Carlo and Palace area. It is up high and has excellent views. It was also interesting to watch the changing of the guards at the Palace. In the afternoon, we explored the area around the casino. Unbelieveable as to the cars you see as the filthy rich drive by in their Bentley's , Rolls Royce's, Ferraris and more. Read Less
