Booked for our wedding anniversary, expected a hassle-free excursion but to expect a few bumps along the way for a new ship. Unfortunately, SilverSea proved to be in "amateur night" mode throughout the trip, from no information provided from an MIA cruise agent at our pre-stay hotel in Monte Carlo to an unannounced US Coast Guard drill that made the ship off limits for almost a full day to have ...
We had a great experience on this ship last year and were very excited to be back but unfortunately something has changed. The ship is as beautiful as ever and very comfortable but the level of service was not as good and the food was generally quite poor. We loved Atlantide and because the others were not very good tended to eat there all the time which became quite boring. Indochine and terrazzo ...
WE choose this cruise because of the itinerary, and because we were traveling with a group of friends from "La Chaine des Rotisseure," which was a great experience on previous cruises.
I wish we would stay in some places over night, considering how close the ports were from each other.
Food was not so great comparing with previous cruises, except for the Grill.
I think, there were not ...
We joined a golfing group of 8 people for this cruise. The embarkation process was quite smooth but as soon as we boarded it was evident that this ship is very tired and badly in need of refurbishment.
We had a Silver Suite so that our accommodation was quite spacious. The butler and room attendant were both excellent, but that is where excellence stopped.
The restaurant is staffed mostly by ...
I chose this cruise as a result of the extremely good reviews and marketing by Oceania. It was also a special birthday being 80yrs young on the 15th August. There were plusses and negatives. Wait staff, Deck staff and especially bar staff were excellent. I have to commend the head bar tender Mikhael in Martinis as the best I have come across. Room staff were noticeable by their absence. The ...
Ship is beautiful, rooms just as described, beds great, tours were very good. Food was hit and miss but not really what I hoped for, had as good or better at other resorts for a fraction of the price. Some parts of the meals seemed prepared way ahead of time and looked and tasted like it. Service in the specialty restaurants was iffy, especially the French and Asian, there it was bad to pushy and ...
My wife and I sailed on October 4th from Monte Carlo to Athens. We have cruised 9 times on 7 different cruise lines. This was our first time with Regent. The ship, common rooms and cabins were the best I have ever seen. However, the staff and crew were new and therefore the service was not as good as I had hoped. The free internet was spotty and inconsistent. The ship also had some problems ...
We chose this much lauded inaugural cruise on REGENT'S EXPLORER I want to start this review by saying something nice (it goes downhill from here). Whoever designed the ship & did the interior design did a fabulous job. It's lovely! End of good news. We paid an outrageous sum of money to be on the inaugural voyage because we read that this was going to be an amazing experience. It was - for ...
Whilst the ship is impressive, to call this a Maiden Voyage was rather a misnomer.
There was nothing "special" about the cruise - no "wow" factor, no special event (not even one formal night) and the new entertainment from 'in house' Norwegian Holdings was second rate compared to what we had experience on many previous Regent cruise.
I felt that I had been duped into taking a cruise that I ...
I spoke to many fellow passengers both during and after the cruise and apart from the usual litany of petty complaints and genuine grievances there was a common theme of which Regent had better take urgent note. We were told this maiden voyage of "the most luxurious ship in the world" would be truly special and memorable and worth every cent of the considerable price we paid for the privilege of ...
