Having cruised the NYC route to Bermuda before on the Breakaway, we got addicted to the combination of relaxing sea days and plenty of island time that comes with this itinerary. When we saw that the route was now being covered by the Escape, we were excited to give a new ship a try! The Escape is a "Breakaway plus" class ship, which means that it felt almost like being back on the Breakaway, and ...
Fifth time on celebrity and second time on this itinerary. The summit is showing her age in some areas-especially in the ocean view cafe. Chairs are overly worn and need to be replaced-and not with the folding tables and chairs they’ve added! Staff was mostly good and friendly. Small things were lacking but nothing that would ruin a cruise. The room refrigerators are barely coolers and no ice ...
This cruise, I realized that what I like most about sailing on the Summit is the opportunity to encounter the wonderful culture that its crew has created/maintained. It just feels different from other ships. The vast majority of crew members appear to like each other and enjoy working on the Summit. That makes it a great place to spend a week or so. This was my 3rd sailing with them in the past 5 ...
We liked this itinerary. Wanted to see how all of the islands are recovering from the hurricanes. Most residents seemed upbeat, thanking those who have helped and are still helping in their recovery. We had never been to Bermuda, so this was a nice way to see it for those two days.
We enjoy Aqua Class, eating in Blu. We are also now Elite, and enjoyed the perks, especially our nightly ...
Overall I had a good time with Celebrity Summit. Although it could use room for improvement. The communication between the ground and onboard staff needs to be improved. When I booked my cruise, I explained that I needed to be able to connect my iPhone and Laptop to the internet at the same time. The sales man did research and let me know it was possible then sold me the package. However, once ...
Ship is showing its age in places. Food is very good as are most of the staff. Would not pay full price for this ship. Embarkation on port days was awful due to insufficient and rude staff at security stations. Cruise director Patrick is not funny at all. Very few activities on board. Paper airplane contests. Same music repeated all day every day for the entire 8 night cruise. Lounge chairs ...
This was our first time on the new "Norwegian Dawn" since the "refurb"-so have nothing to compare from before. We loved it very much.Found it to be very colorful, very friendly easy to manoeuver around once we found our bearings. We always take the first day to go around all the areas of our likes before settling down on any one area. The casino was great had a lot of more modern machines and the ...
I chose this cruise, since i wanted to go to Bermuda with my family. Words cannot describe how beautiful this tiny country is! I was hesitant to take a Norwegian cruise, since most of what I read was negative or misinformed. The cruise was very good. However, there are too many restaurants that are additional fees. Also, the drinks packages must be designed for alcoholics since you would have ...
This was our second cruise to Bermuda on the Dawn, We wanted a simple vacation with no flying involved. Because our last cabin was too small and didn't even have a seating area, we got a mini suite this time and it was well worth the extra money. For the first time I actually got to take a bath at sea! There was plenty of room, lots of storage and the cabin was very comfortable. Although we were ...
This was our 2nd cruise on the Dawn, first time to Bermuda. The parking lot near the ship was $175 for the week but was right across the street. We had a 12pm embarkation time and the dropping luggage and initial security check was quick. It took about 20 minutes to get thru security and check in.
We did opt for drink package and shore excursions. I felt the drink package was worth it, it ...
