Ship needs to be updated. Plumbing problems which resulted in the constant gurgling in the shower. Guest services was very attentive but the problem persisted the whole cruise. A constant banging on the pipes most mornings. That was an irritant. We were on a much needed vacation. Rest was so needed. Our dining staff was awesome! Our Lido Deck selections were very tasteful. The staff we pass daily were quite friendly and spoke often. Our Diamond Level gift was in very poor taste. A lanyard with Carnival Cruise Line on it. How cheap! Embarkation is getting less complicated every cruise as long as you have your proper paper work completed. The ports were suitable. Disembarking went very well. Improvements were very noticeable. We didn’t cruise with anyone else this time. This is the first time we flew to Ft Lauderdale and then shuttled to the port in Miami. I was a little nervous about leaving out the same day we arrived, but it was okay. I would recommend this ship again ONLY after updating. Read Less

2nd cruise with NCL. Platinum on Disney, nearly same on RCCL and Carnival. I would rate my experience level as similar to RCCL and Carnival. My first NCL cruise was in The Haven on the Epic. For this cruise, my room had a fair amount of broken/damaged furniture and worn carpeting in front of the balcony door. The dryer hose in the bathroom kept disconnecting from the wall unit. The toilet generally had a delayed flush process, sometimes taking up to 3 minutes after pushing the button before it would flush. Felt the balcony table was way too small to be very useful. Room Steward team (Ji Wei Wei) was excellent, friendly and efficient. Room Service Steward "Jeekerson" was also excellent, had a great memory and friendly/outgoing presence. Looked forward to his morning delivery of coffee and goodies. Sadly, I had a disappointing attempt at dinner at Los Lobos. Food was just not good and was bland, uninspiring and generally flavorless. The salsa was just weird tasting, I sent my appetizer back and after 2 bites of my entre I gave up. To their credit, the service and management staff did a great job in attempting a service recovery; offering to replace the food, offered other entrees, a beverage and dessert. I politely declined as I didn't really think a different dish would have made a difference in my ability to enjoy a meal. I really enjoyed the Indian food choices that were on the buffet. Desserts were very good. The fresh, made to order dessert crepes was a real treat. Pizza. Where was the pizza? I discovered it quite by accident on Day 4 while walking through one of the specialty restaurants one morning and noticed some pizza condiment containers. They weren't open and I asked a steward setting up what time service started and for how long. I was stunning when he said from 11 - 2pm. That's it? Pizza available only 3 hours a day and for lunch only? You need to fix that! Stage shows: The Family and Adult versions of the comedian show were both enjoyable. I saw two of the three singer/dancer productions; the Rock show and World beat were both enjoyable mostly. Regarding Rock show, the sound mix was so tame with a live band on the stage you couldn't tell audibly the band was there. The mix was so conservative and totally lacked any dynamic range the bands presence on stage was superfluous. Male principal singers (both). Great voices overall. However, please, it's a rock show, they need to "butch" it up. Rock songs aren't sung with a voice singing like they were singing an Opera. You know what I mean. The World Beat was very, very good. Enjoyed the ethnic variety of songs and different dances. Female principals had great voices and excellent range. Dancers were very good overall, some were 'marking' here and there but I doubt most of the audience could tell. First time doing a cruise alone. There's always a "friends of Bill W" meeting in the schedule everyday and of course the LGBTQ freestyle bar meet. Nothing in the schedule regarding a "singles meet and greet" though. Have seen it on the other cruise lines. In this case, I was looking for that. Cruise director. Very pleasant and attractive woman. Doesn't really have the energy lever/presence I expect from the person that has that very hard job to do. She's not really funny and doesn't know that well how to use sarcasm for comedic effect. The double private island was a plus for me as Freeport is still heavily damaged and when I spoke to some people I met in a bar in Nassau that were on a ship that did a stop there said many of the excursions were not working. So, the private island is nice. I'd rate it last of the 4 private islands I've been on, with Disney's Castaway Cay far and away the best. RCCL 2nd and Half Moon Cay 3rd. Signage is just not that good. Need map/sign boards showing where you are. The black and white page they hand you when you get on the island is of little help. Nothing posted anywhere showing what the food menu is at each place. On my way out the 2nd time stop of the week I found the pavilion which had a huge variety of food choices vs the tents scattered everywhere that only had burgers/dogs and bone dry near burnt chicken. I thought that's all you could get there. I also stumbled over the trailer/food truck setup that was serving ceviche, pulled pork, and mahi mahi sandwiches. Wow, that was a nice accidental discovery. So, my cruise experience overall was Very Good. Hope this all explained why. Read Less

We went on this cruise to join some family and it was my very 1st cruise. Embarkment was delayed due to a medical emergency, but it felt good to know that I was boarding a ship that they made sure to take care of that person, when they were only one of out of about 3,000. Kudos to the Captain for that. We were offered an upgrade to the Cloud 9 Spa deck and so GLAD we upgraded. I did 3 UltraThermie's with Nombali who was wonderful. Such a sweet girl. And I got great results! Will definitely do that again! Also got a massage and an an updo which all were wonderful as well! The Serenity deck was awesome and up just one flight of stairs and there! There were elevators, but chose to take the stairs. Having the Eucalyptus room available was nice as the smoke going through casino to the dining room really took it's tole on me having suffered with lung issues in the past..Finally figured out to go to Deck 7, walk to the other end of the ship, then take the stairs down to avoid the casino. The deck above the casino smelled like smoke too. Glad our room was far away. The waterfall Serenity Deck was also enjoyable and we really had no problem finding space at most any given time. Dining rooms had awesome food overall. To me, they serve too much food. I do like Lido deck breakfasts over the buffet. Buffet breakfast is good but unless you buy a glass of fresh squeezed juice for $5, there is no fruit. I can control my portions so as to not waste food and have them throw half of it away at Lido. Love the Bonsai Sushi. Wish they had a Seafood Shack as I have heard good things about them. Guy's Burgers are not for me, dripping in grease .555 Fahrenheit Steakhouse was great, but again, too much food. They need to offer lesser options for less money. We enjoyed our balcony room on Cloud 9 Spa, Deck 10, but not all elevators go that high. Overall, that did not present a problem for us though. Balcony was large enough for the two of us with a table. They did only clean the room once and we rarely saw our Steward. Tipped housekeeping but he was no where around most of the time. Mikey, the cruise director, was just constantly full of energy and so much fun. The Motown night and the 1980's night were awesome in the Atrium. He kept people entertained on Lido during the day as well. We saw two stage shows which were fantastically done. Don't know how those dancers do it on a rocking ship! Saw 1 comedian that was okay. Don't need to hear the "F" word so much though. Drinks were enjoyed by family at The Altitude, with beer available for my husband just across the Ocean Plaza. At Nausau, we booked the Holiday/Hilton Inn on our own for a Resort for Day. We were able to walk there and the beach was awesome. We had a dedicated server that brought drinks and food. Recommend the Mahi ceasar salad for $9.00 for lunch. Water was beautiful. You do go through the locals that want to braid hair, etc., but if just decline and keep moving, it's all good, and just part of it. They are just trying to make a living. Half Moon Cay as wonderful. They do fill the boats to get you there, but once there, it was awesome. We parked on chairs outside the Pirate Ship bar in the front row. Put your sandals and lotion on the chairs if you go into the water as the tides will float them away in the first 2 rows if you don't. Buffet lunch was good and the rice and chicken were outstanding. Island is beautiful. Best to wear your flip flops when going to the bathrooms as the floors are tiled and often wet. Beautiful island and would go back time and time again. Debarkation went smoothly. The elevators do shut down periodically for a few minutes when they are picking up luggage, but it cleared in about 10-15 minutes. Great cruise, great ship and would do it again. Better signage to help you get around the smoking areas would be helpful - and get a Seafood Shack on this ship! Charleston is a wonderful town to port out of and we enjoyed spending some extra time there. Hyman's Seafood was excellent with the best hush puppies ever! The Crab Shack and Oyster Bar downtown are also excellent. We did the Morris Island tour as well which was enjoyable, but bring a jacket if it is cold at all. They have a shack of a restaurant there that gets flat out busy at night - bucket of oysters for $16 plus other seafood. Not fine dining atmosphere though. Magnolia Farms is also worth seeing. Take the train ride - the guy that runs it is a hoot! Read Less

My DH (age 60) and I (age 54) saw a great deal on the NCL Sky. The itinerary was Miami, Half Moon Cay, Nassau, Freeport, Half Moon Cay, Miami with no sea days. We arrived at the terminal at 12:30 pm and were on the ship in 20 minutes. My 1st impression of the ship was that it was in good condition and the staff was friendly. The ship was refurbished in 2019 and it was very nice. We originally booked and inside cabin and then bid and "won" the upgrade to an Oceanview on deck 8. Deck 8 was a convenient deck, not to far from anything and quiet. Food: We purchased the 2 specialty restaurant package and ate at Le Bistro and Cagneys. I really enjoy Le Bistro, the food is good and the staff friendly. Cagneys was good as well. The main dining room food and staff were very good and we enjoyed eating there also. We ate at the buffet for lunch one day and found it to be adequate - but we only had salad and cold cuts with cheese. The entertainment was standard cruise ship entertainment nothing outstanding, but not bad either. Debark was quick and efficient. I liked that we went through customs on the ship (facial recognition) and walked off, picked up the luggage and were on our way. Overall we had a great time and would take the Sky again. Read Less

We choose this cruise mainly for the price and location. We were able to spend a couple of days in Charleston prior to boarding the ship. Granted embarkation was delayed due to a medical emergency but Carnival saved the lives of the people involved. Way to go Sunshine crew! The embarkation went smoothly despite that hiccup. Disembarking was also smooth and efficient. This was our second Carnival cruise and we had high expectations for the food. Those expectations were exceeded. I cannot comment on the buffet because there are so many other options that we prefer. Guys burgers are awesome. The blue iguana burrito boys make a mean burrito. The pizzas are really good and the deli buffalo chicken sandwich is excellent. The MDR was firing on all cylinders as appetizer, main course and dessert were on par with the best of our local restaurants. However, there are two show stopping places to dine. Sea day brunch is amazing and I am now ruined from eating ordinary pancakes ever again. The "skillet cake" appears to be an ordinary pancake but once you eat it you'll wonder why they don't serve it morning, noon and night. Also the filet mignon and eggs are can't be beat. Try JiJi's for lunch and get some mongolian grill. Also the bonsai sushi is worth the extra money. Farhenheit 555 is hot hot hot! We thought the MDR was good until we tried 555. They knocked everything up 10 notches with a phenomenal 5 star 3 course dinner. Everything was cooked to perfection. Presentation was excellent. The WOW factor was a 10. It was an excellent dining experience that I am certain to repeat. Our steward was very efficient. Our cabin, as well as the rest of the ship, was very 'plain Jane' compared to other ships that we've been on. It lacked many of the art, sculpture and architectural details that provide a WOW factor. The Serenity deck had a waterfall into a pool. That area was a bit crowded on sea day but there are literally hundreds of loungers spread over the entire Serenity area and we never had an issue fining one. The Serenity bar is excellent for Happy Hour. The only issue with the bars is the need to sign for each drink. One would think that this process could be streamlined somehow to make the bartenders more efficient. The fitness center is heavy on the aerobic machines and light on the free weight area. The water slides are fast and fun. There were 2 comedians but they were outshone by the cruise director Mikey. That guy has limitless energy and really made the cruise something special. We would have liked to seen a magic show but there was not one on this cruise. The Epic Rock show was well done. Overall, it was another great vacation and we will sail with Carnival again but most likely on a different class of ship. Read Less

I have been on this ship in the past, and was unimpressed then. After it being refurbished and the dirt cheap pricing we figured let's give it another try. Pros, great staff, super friendly, and cheap pricing. I went to Cagneys twice and it was excellent. Unfortunately very boring, as it was the last time. If you want to lay around the pool the entire day then this will work for you. However I have been on other cruise lines with so much more to do like fun pool area games etc. I literally watched a movie in my cabin one day I was so bored. Terrible activities, unenthusiastic entertainment staff. I went to a trivia contest and it lasted all of 10 minutes. The person doing it rushed through as if he couldn't wait to get out of there. The cruise director Jasper is just boring, plain and simple. A 5 night cruise that has a comedian, who was hilarious, and a magician. Why only 1 night for the magician? Buffet food is god awful. Also there is a funky sewage smell on occasion at the rear of the ship. Hate to be so negative but it's the truth. Again staff was awesome, and disembarking was as easy as it gets, Carnival should take some notes on this. I hope this helps, even for the very low price, I will not be on this ship again. Read Less

We like Key west and wanted a short getaway. Actually, it's our 4th or 5th time on the Victory & we're going again December 2nd. The ship externally is tired, but a quick inspection below decks looks like brand new. ('Vic') is going to Spain in March for a complete refit. The food is equal to or better than any other cruise line. (This was our 46th cruise). Our balcony was bigger than most, head (bathroom) was also bigger than most others. Ship was kept extremely clean, but wear and tear and outside rust everywhere. But, being built in 1998, it was looking great from a distance. We compare the ship to the NCL Spirit regarding decor level. Beautiful ship. The new name will be Radiance. Crew was especially attentive and we're looking forward to seeing them again in December. Their dis-embarking procedure needs work. One had to go to the purser go get luggage tags. These have, in the past, been delivered to your stateroom. Also, uponboarding, we we couldn't find the time for MUSTER DRILL even by reading the notice on the cabin door. Getting off was a nightmare due to port facility problems and NOT Carnival's problem. We have avoided Carnival due to some big problems in the distant past. We're letting bygones be bygones. The dis embarkation was NOT Carnival's fault. It was with the port facility escalator and half the ship had to go through only one elevator. Read Less

I took this cruise to see what this $115 million dollar amplification was all about- WOW what fun. This ship still has some dated decor (Royal needs to get out of the 80's), but the water slides, laser tag, food were just amazing. So much to do on this ship, one weekend isn't enough. Also doing at video blog https://youtu.be/e-WekB7Ztjk This was a cruise to Nassau but I cruised for the ship and CoCo Cay. The drinks were so so. but the food was delicious. There is plenty to do on Coco cay even if you just want to sit and relax by the lagoon. This ship is perfect for families or non-families- there's tons of fun for everybody. The main dining room as well as the Windjammer had excellent food. Service on the ship was good. The MDR had delicious food and the Windjammer had a lot to choose from. It was however very crowded and made it difficult to find seating- so much so that Jamie's Italian was opened for extra seating. We got the drink package and all I can say is that the drinks were just so so- Even a long island seemed too be skimped on the alcohol and the drinks were never made the same. The Ice Skating iSkate was the most amazing show using lighted drones to open the show. Gorgeous show with a lot of talent. Singers and dancers did a great job as well. Although Nassau is a main port of call, Coco Cay is where it's at. What a fun private island. something for everybody. A bit "small" when you have 2 ships and 8000+ people there but the food was great. Beaches nice. Embarkation and debarkation was quick- the quickest I've ever experienced. LOVE THAT. Terminal A is amazing. Read Less

Since we live within 45 minutes of Baltimore we decided to book at Gandeur of the Seas. The embarkation was so very easy to board the ship and parking was very plentiful. When arriving we went to the Windjammer for a quick meal and then our room was ready. We had booked an oceanview room and it was very clean and a good size. I thought we would get a port hold but I was thankful for the large window. The bed was very comfortable and a king size. The room was very clean and our statesroom attendant was fantastic and took care of us (Rolanda). Whenever we left and returned it was ready and the towel animals were very cute. We ate breakfast at the Windjammer and it was alright but I am not a breakfast person but my husband truly enjoyed the variety. Every night except one we ate at My Dinning which was very good every night. The dining room is a a pretty decor of white and a soft blue. Our waiter Ikango and his helper Henri was the best. Every night he remember that I took mint leaves with my water and hot tea for my husband. He recommended the items that we should try and they very good. One night we ate at Chops Grill for a kind of celebration and I will give a C because our food was not cooked as we requested and my husband's steam was cold. It would not be on our list when we go again. The shows are alright except for one comedian which kind made remarks that were not socially acceptable to us. They had a group called UpTown and they were fantastic singing the Motown songs so they decided to have them two nights. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and will definitely return. Read Less

This was an excellent value cruise for 5 nights. It was my mom's first cruise and she was very nervous about getting seasick but she was never bothered at all. The entertainment was very good, just wish there had been more of it. The weather was perfect. Had a couple issues with or y room that were quickly resolved. Communication was lacking in pre boarding information. We were told to go to the wrong terminal and had to walk from terminal c to terminal g in the extreme Miami heat. The staff offered no condolences, just basically said that things would get better. The dining experience was average.... Both nights we tried the dining room we were left waiting for desserts that never got served.... Left the dining room two times disappointed. Was very pleased to find a 24 how buffet though!! And the burgers were great! The pools were clean but a little warm Read Less

My mom loves to cruise and wanted my cousin to experience cruising for the first time. We chose this sailing since it was out of nearby Port Canaveral, included a private island, and was on a larger ship with upgrades. We thought 4 days was a good length for a first-time cruiser. We also found a good price for a balcony cabin. Getting around the port parking was a little confusing. There are signs telling you to take your parking ticket with you. They want you to pay after the cruise but before you head to your car. However, the exit had both a scanner to read your paid ticket and a person to take cash. Mom is Platinum so embarkation was easy. They take your photo just before you go thru security screening which was different. The Liberty is an older ship so she has “bumps and bruises” but is clean considering how much traffic she gets. Our cabin 7334 was comfortable but had the dated Carnival orange interior. Balcony had two chairs and a table. Our cabin steward was SO nice! In fact all of the Carnival employees we encountered we exceptionally friendly (except for one server in the main DR at brunch on our sea day). My cousin enjoyed the dining options and was able to try new dishes and desserts for the first time. That is one reason cruising is so enjoyable. Try ordering the cheese plate as an appetizer and having mac&cheese with bacon and ratatouille as sides orders. Yum! In Nassau we took water ferry to Paradise Island and walked to the Atlantis Resort. Access is limited but the blown glass sculptures are beautiful. We caught a taxi back to port and shopped at the kiosks near the port. Princess Cays was great! Most guests exit the tender boat and head to the beach and activities located on the left side of the island. The secret is to exit and go to the right! Stay on the dock, go over a small foot bridge, and then find a less crowded beach with chairs, clam shells for rent, bar, swimming & snorkeling area, basketball court, restrooms. There is even a separate food area that serves lunch to guests at no charge. Sweet! Read Less

I chose Disney because of the rave reviews that I had researched and heard about from friends and acquaintances. In general, my family and I had a great time. The services and staff were great and very accommodating when things didn’t work as expected like trying to dial ship to shore from my stateroom. The ship is impeccably well maintained and clean and there is plenty for passengers of all ages to do during the voyage. My only criticism is that while the food was good, some of the dishes could have been served hotter than they were. I realize they are serving the masses, but the hot entrees should not arrive cool or cold to passengers. If the time duration from the stove top to the passenger was reduced, I think I would rate the food as great to outstanding. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to travel again with Disney and hope to do so very soon. Read Less

I wanted a low cost cruise and I got it. The Escape has obvious design flaws, pools are too small and not enough elevators, and 6 hot tubs for 4000 people is not enough, but beyond that was fun time. The entertainment was really excellent and a lot to do. After Midnight was great and so was Choir of Man. The "side" shows Fab 4, the comedians and Kid Ace (magic) were also great. The water slides and rope course (where else can you zipline on a ship) were also a blast. The ship felt a little understaffed. Food and service was good EXCEPT in the "luxurious" Manhattan Room where children were allowed to run on the dance floor and a baby in diapers was crawling around. YUK! The staff did nothing with these horrendous kids nor the parents who apparently thought their children's behavior was "cute". On previous Norwegian cruises they prohibited shorts in the Manhattan Room but apparently now anything goes. If you are expecting anything luxurious or classy probably Norwegian is not for you. Service was slow to non-existent in the Manhattan Room. The piano bar District Brewhouse was very fun although drinks pricey. Service in Taste and Savor restaurants was excellent! Another plus is never had a problem getting a table at the buffet which is another big plus. I love O'Sheens pub restaurant in atrium but sometimes it's noisy with the atrium activities. Tendering at Great Stirrup Cay was a nightmare and even though we were in tender group 2 (of 24) took almost 45 minutes to get off. Some waited 90 minutes to get a tender, There were two ships at the Island and the captain said it would be crowded and it was although they had plenty of chairs on beach if you walked a little. For some reason Norwegian chose NOT to use the ship tenders so waiting for the shore tenders (now split between two ships) was nothing short of a nightmare. They wanted $21 rent for an umbrella on beach, which seemed ridiculous. Water was warm and nice in Great Stirrup Cay. Another slight minus was the Port Canaveral stop was too late in the day to do much there. (got in at 1:30) I used Lyft to get to the Space Center (which BTW is much cheaper than the Norwegian Excursion) but had only about 3 hours at the space center which isn't enough time to see everything. (they close at 6) I'd suggest recruiting 3-4 people to go and getting one UBER or Lyft. Still I hadn't been to the space center in 30 years and was very fun to see. In conclusion I got a good deal on this cruise so I can't complain a lot. Read Less

We are a couple with two boys ages 13 and 15. There was plenty to keep us busy on this cruise. The food was very good- excellent including the buffet. We loved O’Sheehans restaurant that was open 24 hrs, as we are a family of night hawks, lol. The boys looked forward to late night wings and nachos and we really miss it now that we are home. We really liked the Freestyle dining and not rushing to have to be at dinner at a certain time. We had a balcony cabin and it was very clean and nice. Embarkation was very efficient despite a coast guard inspection and everyone being asked to board between 12 and 3. Disembarkation was tricky because a storm damaged the link that we were supposed to use to disembark but Norwegian problem solved efficiently and all was good. The Choir of a man show was really excellent entertainment! The comedy shows were also very good. Our family had a great vacation and would definitely go again. I'll hit the major points: Getting on the ship was super fast and smooth. Bought the deluxe drink package. Sometimes had to wait behind 1 or 2 people....but the majority of the time I could walk right up to an open bartender. Lots of bars, very good service. My Stateroom attendant was excellent. Saw him multiple times a day. We ate dinner at 6 pm every night. We had the same excellent waiters every night. They were outstanding. I thought the food was good, not great. Presentation was very good and we very much enjoyed the dining experience. French Onion soup outstanding. Was fun trying new things. There are two slides. One with a pad you lay on. At the end of the ride the person hands the pad to the next person in line and up the stairs they go. This line moves fast and had a very small line (maybe 5 minutes). The other slide has a tube with a 400 pound limit and two people can go on this if they want. The line for this was always very long. I waited probably 40 minutes in this line. Both slides were fun (but not worth 40 minutes). There is a place where you can get thin crust pizza and sandwiches when everything else is closed. Late in the night they have a hard time keeping up with demand and lines form. Nassau: We walked around a little. Took a horse drawn carriage ride around the city. Was just ok. Didn't feel like the safest place. I wouldn't get off the ship next time unless I had an excursion planned out. Coco Cay: Awesome. We were the only ship and there were plenty of chairs. The beach was nice and quiet, the water was nice. Lifeguards watching. The freshwater pool was a bit of a party at the swim up bar. Lots of drinking and music. This area was crowded. My 77 year old mother booked a glass bottom boat ride. She said it was excellent. All ages seemed to enjoy it. A diver would bring up creatures from the ocean floor for people to examine before throwing them back. The food at Coco Cay was good, not great. It's a large buffet and quite frankly much better than what I expected at something like this. We did not do the Thrill side. Not sure how the island is when TWO boats are docked on the same day. Day at Sea seemed crowded. Getting off the ship was quick and easy. I'm guessing we got lucky with our timing. Room: We booked two suites because when we booked for whatever reason they weren't much more than a normal balcony room. Our rooms were large with big closets. For just two people per room it was a nice treat but not needed. Kids Camp: My 6 year old enjoyed it but it looked like chaos in there and I thought they didn't have enough workers watching the kids. No issues though. Condition of the ship was very clean and I found the crew to be extremely friendly. I'm not sure how often the shows change...but: Ice Skating show was excellent. Don't be that couple that walks in after the show starts and blocks peoples view because you can't find a seat. Comedian had two shows. The family-friendly one was horrible. Did not see the adult one. The juggler was talented and funny and personable. Great show. Quest game is for adults! Lots of laughs. Great cruise, overall pleased with meals and Coco Cay. Ship does at times feel crowded, especially on the day at Sea. Would sail the Navigator again in a heartbeat. Read Less

This was my first cruise with Norwegian. Six friends and myself treated ourselves with no kids and no husbands. For the most part our cruise was absolutely AWESOME!!!! The majority of the crew was great, the food was great and the port calls were great. We had the best steward EVER!! Our room was 0264 and he was friendly and accommodating. Every steward on our floor was AMAZING! We weren’t thrilled with the backed up shower that we called about every day that never got fixed, the crew members that were unfriendly and not having a beach day (Great Stirrup Cay). It wasn’t bad enough for me not to return though. This was my friend that planned this getaways 7th sail with Norwegian. She said she had never experienced such unhappy crew before. Again, I still had a great time but a few improvements are in need. We’re going to have a “girls trip” once a year and are already planning the next one in September 2020! Read Less

This was a great cruise for our first time cruising. We chose this ship because it is smaller and we were not interested in a larger ship with 4000-5000 people. The ship was very clean and comfortable and had plenty of indoor places to get a way from other people. the crowd. The embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and went much faster than I had anticipated. On embarkation day we kept our luggage with us, and they allowed us to store it in the Bliss lounge until our room has ready at 1:30.Our cabin was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. We were in Cabin 8071 with a balcony which was great. There was plenty of storage. The bed was a little hard but overall comfortable. Our steward was friendly and very accommodating. The food and service was great in the main dining room and 2 specialty restaurants we tried, Le Bistro and Cagneys. The buffet was average for a buffet anywhere. It had plenty of choices and the lines were never too long. We ate most of our breakfasts and lunches in the main dining room, because we preferred the level of service and menu choices offered at that location. We had the drink package and most of the drinks were good. The service at the bars was average. It was hard to get the attention of a few bartenders even when no other customers were waiting. The nightly entertainment was varied, with something for everyone. We went to the shows in the Stardust Lounge every night and found them to be entertaining and well produced. The casino was extremely smokey and we did not spend any time there for that reason. The only disappointment was that our port call to Great Stirrup Cay was cancelled. After we arrived, they announced this as the seas were too rough to take passengers off the ship onto the tenders. We ended up with 2 days at sea, which was too many for a 5 day cruise. On "at sea" days the pool area is way too crowded to enjoy. But I suppose it is like that on any ship. Overall, we got a great last minute deal on this trip and will definitely cruise on Norwegian again! Read Less

I traveled recently with my 2 adult sons, daughter in law, & 3 grand kids between the ages of 3-8. Coco Cay was so much better than when we visited there 2 years ago. Lots of free activities, variety of food and plenty of chairs and umbrellas throughout the property. It was hard to do all the onboard activities but at least one in our group did the flow rider, Escape Room (super hard but we got out with 17 mins to spare!), Sky Pad and rock climbing. No time for a family putt putt golf tournament. We did see the great ice skating show but did not get on the ice ourselves. Also enjoyed the singing and dancing production but not sure we understood the theme. Found the MDR food better than on past cruises but the breakfast we had there one morning left us all underwhelmed. Dinner was much better. Only ate in the Windjammer for breakfast which was fine. Liked the updated look - booths for large groups, community tables and bright colors throughout. The ship itself looked great and no complaints with decor or cleanliness. I had 2 complaints. The first had to do with a ring purchase I made the last night of the cruise. The ring needed to be sized and I was told I only had to call Le Vian and they would handle everything. That was totally not the case. After several calls (Le Vian, after cruise support and Starboard Cruise Services) once I got home I found that I have to send the ring back to a company that handles jewelry purchases for multiple cruise ships. No cost to me but takes 8-10 weeks for me to receive to receive the ring back. The sales clerk on the ship was totally in the dark on the process to get a ring sized. My other complaint was how long it took to get off the ship. They must have put some process in place since I sailed last year to check seapass cards as you get off to make sure you paid your onboard account. The line we got in only had one checker. Another line had 2. This added over 30 minutes to us getting off-just standing in line. Getting on was also slower than I am used to. Mostly going through security. Not sure why so slow this time. Would definitely sail on Mariner again. Read Less

Choose because we only wanted a short cruise and Key West was the deciding factor. All good. Great service, wonderful food. Easy on and off at all stops. Entertainment in the theater was amazing. Most talent we ever saw on the seas. We did find ourselves searching for something interesting to do several times. The best place to be at night after shows was the Bliss lounge or the Windjammer lounge. Unfortunately way too many people and not enough seats, and seats were on top of each other. We were invited to a private cocktail party with the captain. Would have been a great experience had the captain and most officers actually acted as if they were pleased to see us. Will pass on cocktails with the captain in future cruises. The casino is always happy to see us! Much more so than this captain and the other officers were only following his lead. I can almost hold my breath for 1/2 hr, suy he could force a smile or a hey, hi you doing or something. Very uncomfortable situation for us. Felt awkward. Read Less

Our experience overall on this cruise was better than many of the reviews posted. We were on the ship in less than an hour from arriving at the port so the embarkation went smoothly. We had an aft-facing mini-suite which was spacious with a large bathroom, a lot of storage, and a large balcony. Our room steward, Sandro, immediately introduced himself and greeted us by name each time he saw us. Our one trip to the Garden Cafe (buffet) was frustrating. The buffet is not laid out so that the lines move easily so there always seemed to be a bottleneck. We ate breakfast each morning in Mondero - great omelets, waffles, and plenty of fruit, along with other options. There was also pizza and sandwiches at lunchtime. We ate at Cagney's and the Brazilian steakhouse for dinner. Food was excellent in both restaurants. All of the waitstaff and other workers that we encountered were friendly and anxious to help. We saw the two shows - one was just okay but we really enjoyed the show on the last night. Sat through one of the comedian's shows but it was not very good. He tried but I just didn't want to listen to someone talk about poop for 30 minutes. Not much else that we found for entertainment. Maybe because it's a smaller ship and we are used to larger ships. The times in port at Key West and Great Stirrup Cay were short and felt rushed. We have been to Nassau too many times at this point so we stayed on the ship. We chose to take our own bags off the ship so we were in our car and on the way home by 7:30. Disembarkation couldn't have been easier. Read Less

I chose and booked this cruise 3 weeks prior to sailing based on the price, dates and itinerary. I was originally going to sail alone, mom getaway, but a friend decided to get in on the great price last minute. We had a great long weekend. We parked at Park N Cruise in Merritt Island. 10 minute shuttle to Port Canaveral and saved $25. Post cruise shuttle was quick and easy too. Check-in was seem-less and quick.... onboard by 11:30. We brought 4 bottles of wine, which we paid $15 each corkage in the terminal. Ship is older but looks fresh with new carpets. Aside from the weird deck 6, it's very easy to navigate. We enjoyed the walking/jogging track that goes entirely around the deck. Dining rooms were lovely. Buffet area could get crowded, however there was always a staff member reminding you that there is a buffet outside too. Continental room service breakfast is complimentary and we did that each morning. We had a balcony cabin on deck 9. 9061. This location was towards the back and close to the back stair/elevators. We found the location to be good. The cabin was more spacious than I expected. Bathroom very small and the fabric shower curtain is annoying, but overall it was a nice cabin with plenty of storage for 2 women with lots of stuff!! The mini-bar was empty so we stored our wine and water. We also had a coffee maker in our cabin which was a nice plus. Balcony was clean with 2 chairs and a small table. We did have an issue with our a/c on day 1. It was fixed in an hour. A/C was very cold. We ate 2 nights in the main dining room...Seven Seas... service and food we found to be very good. We ate 1 night in Los Lobos Cantina. It was delicious and I highly recommend the guacamole that is prepared tableside....yuuumm!! We also ate in the Sushi Bar. That was also very good and plenty. Both of these restaurants are a la carte. We found the pricing fair for the amount of food received. We only ate 1 time at the lunch buffet...it was ok. The Omelette station for breakfast was very popular. There is one at each buffet, so if there's a long line, try another location. Tip.... if you want to eat in the Teppanyaki restaurant make reservations early. We waited and missed out because it is not a large restaurant.... limited seating. We attended the two main shows.... the singing and dancing were very good. The piano player in the Windjammer Bar was very good. It was sort of a sing-along. Casino was a little small and very selfish....LOL!!! Spa was small but had everything you would need. We waited until the 2nd day to book a massage. They ran a great special. Be sure to read the Daily planner for specials. Key West was fun..... we just walked Duval Street and had lunch. Unfortunately our ship docked far away from town that we had to be shuttled in and out of downtown. Keylime pie from Kermit's is delicious. We did the same in Nassau. Just walked Bay Street and had lunch. Private Island was nice. Had lunch, rented a mat and floated in the water. Very relaxing. We found the service overall to be very good. Cabin steward was very good and always around to say hello. Dining service was very good too. No complaints. Overall.... I had a great time and can't wait to sail on Sun with my husband and son. Oh.... almost forgot. The disembarkation process was amazing. They take care of everything prior to getting off the ship. Some new technology with facial recognition. If you get the green light... good to go. No standing in line waiting for the next immigration officer. We sailed on Royal Caribbean in March and they didn't have this technology then. Read Less

The theater shows was as excellent. The overall experience on the cruise was very good. I so went to 2 specially restaurants. Teppanyaki Was excellent the food and the chef was excellent to. I also went to La Cucina it was very good the restaurant seating area was very elegant. The 2 dinning areas are excellent also. The seven seas is the more fancy dining and the four season is the more traditional dining. I liked dining at the seven seas the dining area was more elegant to me but the food was excellent. I chose this cruise because we wanted a quick getaway and the price was right. I am NCl platinum, actually this was our 3 rd cruise in 2019, the first on a smaller ship. The ship was only half full. This was due to the change in itinerary. Originally the itinerary was for Cuba and due to trump that was no longer possible . Passengers were given the choice of refunds. We also couldn't dock at the private island due to high winds. Royal Caribbean dropped anchor, however I did not see their tenders out . We left and had a nice day at sea.. We were lucky enough to take a behind the scene tour. It was Fantastic NCl was also dropping off many pallets of supplies to assist the post Dorian Hurricane efforts. Our oceanview room was clean and more than adequate with a large porthole. We enjoy dining room breakfasts and the service and food was quite good. Dinners were at both the main dining rooms or Cagneys and La Cucina. My husband enjoyed his steak at Cagneys. I am a pescatarian and there were always several selections for me. We never eat hamburgers , hotdogs or that kind of food at home so I can't speak for that on a cruise. There was always fresh salads, Indian food, fish choices etc, The buffet was compact ,but adequate for lunch. Entertainment was good . There was 1 show per night at 9 pm. The comedian was funny and the singers and dance troupe was great. Both embarkation and disembarkation was a breeze. I was initially concerned that since free or discounted air was offered it would be a circus. It was handled in a quick and organized fashion. Already looking forward to the Western med cruise on the Epic next year Read Less

It was a last minute decision. We booked like 9 days before take off. We got a really good deal. The ship was a lot smaller than I had been on in the past, but I really liked the staff. They were Great. The food was great the whole time. I really liked the fact that at supper time, we could sit where we wanted, it wasn't assigned. I would diffently try Norwegian again on a little bigger boat. We had a blast. We had a Great time playing Bingo. Again, The staff on this ship were Amazing. And I loved the washy washy, happy, happy. It was great. I got to hang with my grown daughter for 5 days that were truly amazing. And we had 2 specialty suppers. I was not a big fan of the Italian restaurant, but the Streak restaurant was Delicious. That was one of the Best steaks I've ever had, and the staff was Great in the also. We had never been on Norwegian before, and didn't know what to expect, but the staff was great for helping us right from the get go. I would return to Norwegian ship again. I did not exercise( I suck at that. Lol) Read Less
