Beware, came on healthy, left with covid! Food was awful! They broke my luggage as well. Value of 250. Gave me a cheap bottle of champagne to compensate me. The food was so salty. Every time I ate it my feet and hands were swollen. Also went down to get medicine and I asked the nurse if there were people on board with covid and she said yes. We did this same cruise on Volendam 14 years ago with kids and friends. It was our first cruise ever. But goes to show you can’t relive things twice…. We have cruised northern Europe, Mediterranean, China/Hong Kong/Viet Nam, Australia, Hawaii, on a variety of ships. We enjoyed this cruise the least. The ship was so loud and so crowded, so full of drunk people day and night. It was recommended by our travel agency so I will try to be fair but also clear on my assessment. Outstanding service and cleanliness all the employees were top notch with friendliness and helpfulness. Decent cruise. Staff was polite, professional, and very helpful. Ship itself was clean and well maintained. Sometimes the elevators had a bit of a wait, but nothing horrible. Long lines/wait for gelato. Food was ok. Not fantastic, but not bad. Hard to get reservations at the desired times - but we were able to tag into other cruise-mates reservations to make it work. Well....I figured Holland was on the upper end of the cruise lines so we booked a 7 day to Alaska on the Eurodam. I gotta tell you, I go on cruises to enjoy the hell out of the food. This was a MAJOR disappointment! I will say that the "sit down" Dining Room food overall was pretty good, but we like to do the buffet mostly. This cruise is not a value for the money in my opinion . Although Alaska is spectacular, you do not get to spend much time on land . Excursions are way over priced and not a good value for the money . Ship is tired and outdated . Food is mediocre. Entertainment on this cruise was very boring .
