Stockhom was great, but our timing wasn't. We docked at 7am, but nothing opened until 9am and the Hop On Hop Off buses didn't start until 10am. We had pre-purchased the Stockholm Card, but then had to pay extra for ferry transportation from the port to the Vasa Museum because of the times. But that ferry, the Emilie, is very convenient there are signs and lines to follow from the ship to the ferry dock, it is cheap, and it is a quick trip to the Vasa. We were able to do the Vasa, Nordic Museum, then the HOHO was running for the rest of our transportation needs. We did both the bus and the boat. Read Less

Hop on/Hop off tour - very expensive through HAL - hard to get audio tour part to work, traffic in Stockholm was horrendous so luckily I took this in the a.m. rather than worry about getting back to the ship on time.

Booked a city tour independently. Excellent. Plenty to see, very knowledgeable and accommodating guide. We saw the changing of the guard. It might be nice to add a water cruise on to the tour if you have time

The VASA museum was part of the city tour. We were very happy with the whole tour. Wish I had a better camera as no flash was allowed.

I really liked Stockholm! We took the Hop on Hop off from the port. The city is lovely with a very old area and newer areas.

Vasa must see coupled with a city tour. Large group with Princess but nonetheless was good. Stockholm is a beautiful city with much to offer.

Informative. We were offered the option to come back when we want via the ship shuttle and we enjoyed wandering around.

I did the "Stockholm on your own" tour (a.k.a. Norwegian bus from Nynashamn into the city) because I was too chicken to brave the train and risk not getting back. I also bought an all-day pass for the pubic transportation. I was on one of the first buses to leave. The bus dropped us off at the Opera House around 8:30, just over a bridge from Gamla Stan (Old Town). I did the Rick Steves' walking tour of old town before it got crowded which was nice. Then I took the ferry to Djurgarden and walked to the Vasa Museum. I bought my ticket ahead of time and did not have to wait in line. I watched the video, then did the 11am tour in English, then wandered around for another hour or so. I was exhausted so I had a long lunch in the museum cafe. I then popped briefly into the Nordic Museum. Then I took the tram 7 back to Kungsträdgården and did Rick Steves' modern city walking tour. From the end of the walking tour at Hotorget I took the subway back two stops in the direction of the opera house. Then I stopped at a cafe and had a snack before boarding the bus around 4 for the ride back to the ship. Read Less

We pre-booked the City Sightseeing hop on, hop off bus tour by Stromma, but ultimately ended up taking the train from Nynashamn port into Stockholm (because Stromma was going to make us wait more than an hour, until 10:00 at the earliest, before their bus would leave the port for the one-hour drive to Stockholm). We took the train back as well because it was easy, more comfortable and we already had the return ticket. Read Less

We were warned about the "safety situation " in Stockholm which was very thoughtful of Costa. Honesty, I know the city very well, but this time we just went for a walk in the old town and that was all we needed
