Booked this cruise after sailing on a staycation cruise, it felt good to be back cruising.
We booked a superior deluxe balcony cabin for the extra space as we were a party of three adults.
Embarkation was reasonably smooth but once in the terminal some of the staff were less than helpful.
We boarded the ship went to our muster point as instructed and then went to the shambolic Horizon ...
Having cruised before with P&O on Azura we were looked forward to this cruise as we had been told that Britannia is a better ship how wrong they were, staff on Azura went the extra mile to make everything special, Britannia cruise was like being on a floating hotel. nothing was special.
Approx 6 weeks before P&O reduced the price of cruise which attracted unsavoury guests mainly in the smoking ...
Our first cruise with Princess, and probably our last as they gave no reason why we should travel with them again.
We had a number of issues that I will go into briefly later, but one of my biggest qualms affected our whole trip from the outset.
The mask wearing. What is the point of travelling and losing freedoms if you have all been double jabbed and tested before embarkation?
To come ...
First cruise with P&O and definitely the last! The food is mediocre at best which is made worse by the myholiday app. You will be lucky to eat in the a la carte restaurants as I’m on day 5 of the cruise and they are fully booked for the rest of the cruise. I now have to queue up every day or use the ‘buffet’ restaurant.
There seems to be no set drinks policy, what you get in one bar is ...
We chose this cruise as this is a new ship and we like to experience new vessels.
Well where do I start ,got to southampton ,it then took 3 1/2 hours to board the ship, yes really 3 1/2 hours.
Eventually got to the cabin ,guess what NO luggage, several phone calls later before cases found.
Now missed dinner slot ,had to wait for second sitting hours since we had eaten, would add no tea ...
4hrs to get on the boat without any warning ((we couldn't plan to bring food or snacks for our young children) even though we now know this is common for MSC, once on board the staff were overwhelmed, massively understaffed ships and long queues for everything, food outlets, guest services (unsurprisingly a consistently long queue of which was mostly guests shouting at staff), bars, elevators ...
2 star all inclusive food and shocking service. Do not waste your money. Booze cruise from hell.
Booked the 13 night Mediterranean cruise from Liverpool in June after seeing great reviews and living 5 minutes from the port. 3 hours to board and upon entering our cabin one of our cases was missing. We found the cabin to be small with very little storage space and found the ship to be amazing but ...
What a disaster ! the drinks beverage service was shambolic across the ship including the restaurants and an absolute joke. expect to wait 35-50 minutes for a drink. Staff had no clue what they were doing coupled with totally ineffective MNGT/officers who when you complained nodded there heads and gave you lip service. Nothing to do with Covid just rank poor service, If the shop had stopped at a ...
PRE-BOARDING COVID LATERAL FLOW TEST.
Three hours in a holding area waiting to be processed,
gridlock traffic all around the docks roads, as cars were unable to get into the holding area.
Five weeks ago we cruised with Celebrity we had a CPR test three days prior to sailing (at their expense) which avoided all this chaos and inconvenience.
CHECK-IN
Having completed all the ...
From booking to disembarkation was a nightmare of some magnitude.
P & O did not answer their phones, they just cut you off. This happened ten times!
When we arrived at Ocean Terminal we were told to go to get tested at Dock Gate 10. This was not on any paperwork provided by P & O and wasted more time and patience.
We snaked at 1 mph for 2 miles and for 2 hours just to get into the queue ...
